Lady Macbeth s Behavior
The Analysis of Lady Macbeth How does the mastermind and accomplice of a murder
cope with the crime they helped commit? What happens if their partner in crime goes
rogue? In Shakespeare s Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is introduced as a power obsessed
individual who bullies her husband into killing their king and exits as a woman whose
guilt has consumed her to the point where she cannot continue. The source of her cruelty
can be attributed to the demons she invited to rid her of feminine qualities in preparation
for the murder. The behavior of this woman can be compared to the actions of another
famous queen: Queen Elizabeth I. In a play centered on a man whose morality is
deteriorating, the sanity and will to live of a woman diminishes. The transformation...

Portillo states that Queen Elizabeth knew how to command, and understood instinctively
how to make use of the symbols of authority (9). Obtaining authority through the
manipulation of Macbeth would be an example of Lady Macbeth s behavior that is
similar to Queen Elizabeth s behavior. Another example of how Lady Macbeth and
Queen Elizabeth are similar is their usage of the concept of power replacing children.
It can be assumed that Lady Macbeth had lost a child because of the lines previously
mentioned and the lack of a Baby Macbeth in the play. Queen Elizabeth had forgone
the joys of...childbearing in order...to be mother of all English people (Portillo 9). The
final similarity between the two is their replacement by a new power. Lady Macbeth s
husband was replaced by Malcolm who planned to reinvent Scotland, as evidenced by
the following lines, What s more to do, / Which would be planted newly with the time
... So thanks to all at once and to each one, / Whom we invite to see us crowned at
Scone (Macbeth 5.8.65 76). The reign of Elizabeth I can be described as a wonderful
awakening in its intellectual, military, and artistic life (Portillo 10), however, the reign
of her relative, James I, was significantly different. The relation of Lady Macbeth and
Queen Elizabeth I through their actions and behavior, lack of children, and significance
of death as the end of an era may have been the whole reason the play Macbeth was
Five Dollar Bill Essay
I actually really enjoyed the video. It made me think about things that I honestly never
thought about. I thought it was interesting how our currency compares to other
countries. Especially when Neil deGrasse Tyson brought up how although we do have
a scientist on the back of our money that the back of ot has nothing to do with that
scientists achievements. Firstly, I would change the five dollar bill from having
Lincoln on it to Rosa Parks and on the back I would put a picture of the old buses that
were used during the time when the bus boycotts happened. Although she was not the
only person to refuse to move to the back of the bus, she helped kick start a major
movement. I would put her on the five dollar bill, because it is a very common bill, so
most people would see it very often. She was an amazing person and everyone needs
to be reminded of what she did/ started on a regular basis. Next, I would change the ten
dollar bill from having Hamilton on it to Eleanor Roosevelt and on the back I would
put the National Women s Trade Union League emblem on the back. Eleanor Roosevelt
had amazing amount of accomplishments during her time being the first lady, but her
advancements for women s rights stuck out to me the most. She really changed the
whole role of being a first lady and did things that a first lady has never done before. I

Maya Angelou is not just an amazing poet, but she is a social activist and has worked
to try to create a more equal society. I think that everyone needs to remember all the
sacrifices that have occurred and are still occurring for us to be free, and that no
matter what it is, it came at a cost. I think that the 20 dollar bill is a good bill for her to
be on, because she is so relatable and versatile and she can inspire anyone so, the 20
dollar bill is common, but then also worth a lot to most
The Influence of the Western Culture on the
Introduction
Culture is a broad term which has been described by various philosophers since
decades. It has been claimed by Raymond Williams to be ...one of the two or three most
complicated words in English language (Williams, 1976). Different definitions of the
term, culture may have distinct descriptive ways and criterion to evaluate human activity.
It is important to define the broad base of the sophisticated term culture , in the sense
used later in the paper, to narrow down the discussion on our topic.
Culture is a word stemming from a Latin word cultura which means to cultivate (Harper,
2008). It is defined by Findley and Rothney as, systems of symbols and meanings that

At the same time Globalization allows different cultures to combine and integrate through
having common social activists, labor organizers, journalists, academics and many others
(Sundaram, 2006). Music, theater and the film industry has also been broadly influenced
by the increased globalization.
Music has been a center stone of the sub continental background. It has been
traditionaly been based on the simple melodies and is regarded as one of the most well
developed systems of the classical world. The classical beats of the conventional music
provide the true cultural and the traditional taste to the sub continental music. Later in
the 13th Centruy the sub continental music remained under the influence of the Islamic
presence. There is a faction who believes that the classic sub continental traditional
music dates back to Amir Khusro, one of the singers in the Mughal Empire. The
remarkable poetry by some famous poets brought the traditional music to new hieghts.
However the first influence of the sub continental music of such kind was widely
evident in the 1960 s when it found its way in the form of some extra ordinary play of
the sitar (a voiln type instrument) by Ravi Shankar on the famous Beatles album, Sgt.
Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The sub continental music made its way into the
west with the well known players such as Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan. This was
