Analysis Of Robert Frost s Mending Wall
The turn of the twentieth century brought about in the United States the largest
economic and industrial period of change ever experienced in the history of mankind.
This period of time was characterised by big power hungry monopolies, the downfall of
colonialism, devastating outbreaks of cholera and typhoid, and most importantly the
rejection of old world traditions. During this time of change, In 1914 Robert Frost
published his poem Mending Wall. The poem is literally about the speaker and his
neighbour repairing a wall that divides their property, but figuratively, this American
classic embodies the spirit of a new age in American history. In the Mending Wall ,
Robert Frost uses the literary device of symbolism to express his theme of the
destruction of old world tradition.
The use of symbolism in the poem Mending Wall expresses the new age American way
of thinking in contrast to the social tradition of the old world. In the poem, the speaker
and his neighbour meat ritual every year in the spring to make repairs to the wall that
divides them and their property. It could be argued that the holes in the wall are a
symbol for the deterioration of old world traditions. The speaker says in regards to the
holes in the wall No one has seen them made or heard them made, But at spring mending
time we find them there. Everything will erode with time. Whether it is as simple as the
stones of a wall, or as grand and seemingly untouchable as the traditions or culture of
Holmes County Case Study
MILLERSBURG In response to the rising cost of doing business, outpacing revenues
that have been flatlined, Holmes County voters are being asked to weigh in on a short
term funding solution to address the county s infrastructure.
The only countywide issue on the Nov. 8 ballot, Issue 16, proposes a 0.25 percent sales
tax hike, increasing the county s collections from 6.75 percent to 7 percent. It would
generate an estimated $1.6 million annually.
If passed, the five year tax would provide the funding to get halfway through a 10 year
plan to resurface all the county s roads, according to Holmes County Engineer Chris
Young, noting sales tax revenues would be earmarked for contract paving jobs and
would not be used to purchase equipment or pay ... Show more content on

If the tax is approved for another five years, the county would complete resurfacing of
the remaining 121 miles of road for an estimated $9.15 million.
To me, this is the best value on the ballot, said Young, explaining, This is a sales tax, not
a property tax, and the visitors to the county will pay up to 70 percent to help build our
roads.
According to the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, Holmes
County plays host to about 4 million tourists, who spend a conservative $200 million a
year.
For locals, it translates to $25 per $10,000 of taxable purchases made. Considering, it s a
far cry from the $1,060 annually the American Society of Civil Engineers estimates bad
roads cost the average household on lost income and vehicle maintenance per year, said
Young.
Additionally, with Young committing 10 percent of the tax revenues to townships, who
can apply for competitive safety grants, the benefits of the tax stretch much further, with
the ability to impact virtually all county residents.
Without the tax, Young said, maintenance of the county s roads in unsustainable. We re

Folsom State Prison Mission Report
The United States has more than 2.3 million prisoners housed in approximately 1,800
state and federal prisons (Ingraham, 2015). Each one of these has their own formal
summary or mission statement that lists the goals and values of that institution. These
institutions offer several different programs for prisoners, to include educational services
and vocational training that is meant to help them reintegrate back into society once their
sentence is complete. I will look at four different adult correctional systems in the United
Statesand discuss their mission statements and the programs they offer.

It is a small prison located in Warren, Maine, and has a population of only 916 inmates.
Their mission statement says The primary mission of the Maine State Prison is to protect
the public by providing a safe, secure, and humane correctional environment for staff and
the incarcerated offender. We further the mission and promote rehabilitation by providing
work opportunities and a comprehensive treatment plan that encourages the offender to
reenter society as a law abiding, productive citizen. Teamwork, professionalism, and
integrity are the foundation of the guiding principles and provide a path to our primary
mission (State of Maine: Department of Corrections, n.d.). Through the Sunshine Lady
foundation, the prison offers free education to the inmates. This program was created by
Doris Buffet after the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act passed, which
eliminated access for inmates to Pell Grants. All inmates are eligible for the program if
they are sentenced long enough to complete it and already possess either a high school
diploma or a GED. The inmates must write an application letter, gather references, and
write an essay on a subject the facility decides. The inmates must behave themselves if
they want to continue the program. Another goal of this program, besides the educational
benefits, is that it encourages the inmates to become mentors and tutors in the program,
which helps them to develop more
Benefits Of Water Supply On Earth
Limited amount of water supply on Earth will lead to negative effects. The depletion
of our water resource is more serious than that of our current oil depletion. There are
substitutes for oil but nothing can replace our drinking water. We are in a generation
where people believe that water is a reusable resource that we will never run out of.
But in the future, it is bound to not be able to keep up with us. Global conflict will
happen over this natural resource if nothing is done. Food production will not be able
to keep up with the speeding population increase, and our overall economy will suffer.
Due to the limited amount of fresh water in this world, and the demand going up due
to populations, many people of the world are suffering or will be suffering. Before I talk
about the issues of having a lack of fresh water I must talk about how water is becoming
scarce and if we don t start preserving it, we may have a serious epidemic in our future.
Also, people in certain locations end up in poverty because of the lack of fresh water in
their area. Water is a human right and every person deserves access to it. The location of
where you are living plays a big role in if you are being effective by the water crisis.
Many people in other countries are struggling due to limited fresh water reservoirs,
access to ground water, and such. Poor countries such as Africa have poor access to
ground water due to money. But countries such as China may not struggle as much. Wells

The Internet Is Extremely Important In People’S Everyday
The internet is extremely important in people s everyday lives, so much that majority of
the world s economy and its governments rely heavily on the web. Communication,
information, work, education and health care are all at the top when it comes to being
heavenly dependent on the internet. The birth of the Web opened up many opportunities,
most of which have been positive. But with every light, there is a shadow. The Darknet,
Darkweb, and the Deepweb. What do these names stand for? What is their capabilities?
And what kind people run, explore and seek the services hidden in the shadow of the

behaved just like a search engine s crawling technology searches and identify websites.
Because search engines have to rely on the links found on pages to search and identify
new content. This method is a popular way to find content that is most popular among
people on the surface web. But the technique misses much content when it comes to
navigating links. The simplest definition that is cut, dry and straight to the point. Is
that the surface web is anything that a typical search engine can find. While the Deep
web is anything that the engines cannot find. The Deep web exist in sites that require
search bars to navigate, but remember search engines rely on links to navigate and
explore. Thus making Google search impossible to find information in these site with
search bars. Majority of the content that exist in the Deep web is not as terrifying as
the media makes them out to be. But the deeper you dig, the scarier the darkness
becomes. Now picture the internet as a giant iceberg, a giant block piece spike of ice
