INTRODUCTION

• A Field Exposure Training Programme for 6days was initiated by CAM,Utkal


University with faciliation from Odisha State Agricultural Marketing Board.
• The main objective of the Programme is to know the ground level work of RMC
in respect to selling and buying of agricultural commdities between farmers and
traders.
• APMC/RMC was introduced to faciliate backward and forward
market integration of agricultural produce.
• It ensures payment of the fair price to the agriculturists.
• We have assigned to the RMC Bahadajhola in Nayagarh district for this
programme.

• E-NAM is a pan India unified national electric Agricultural market
for Agricultural produce.
• Small Farmers Agri Business consortium SFAC is the nodal
implementing agency of e-NAM under the aegies
of minimum Agricultural and farmers welfare.
OBJECTIVE:
• To integrate market first at the level of states and eventually across
the country through a common online market platform to faciliate
pan india trade.
• To promote better marketing oppertunities for farmers/sellers
through online access to more buyers and markets.

OBJECTIVE;
The main aim of FPO is to ensure better income for
the producers through an organization of their
own. Small producers do not have the volume
individually (both inputs and produce) to get the
benefit of economies of scale.

FIELD VISIT

 We visited to Sarankul village to see the crop production and


interacted with the farmers about their production
practices,problems related to crop production and selling of
products.
 Mostly farmers are producing
Brinjal,cabbage,cauliflower,pumpkin etc
 Most of farmers are selling their produce through RMC and have a
better experience.
 For storage purpose government is providing pack houses for
the farmers near to the field. 11

GROUP DISCUSSION WITH THE FARMERS

We discussed with the farmers about their experience of selling produces


through e-NAM or near by Mandis.

Problems faced by farmers; Distress sale;


 Brinjal production loss due to Phomopsis  Lack of Storage facility
Blight and Fruit Rot  Price Manipulation
 Transportation cost is higher for the farmers.  Logistic Problem
 Lack of assistance from Agriculture employees
 No proper Irrigation Facility
 No Cold storage facility

STEPS TO BE TAKEN:
• To follow disease management practices.
• Get assistance from KVKs,FPOs
• Cold Storage facility should be provided
• Good Transportation facility should provided
• Irrigation facility should be provided
• Provide awareness about the govt
schemes,RMC and FPos services to the farmers.
