Communication Essays

Crafting an essay on the subject of communication can be a challenging endeavor. Firstly,

communication is an incredibly broad and multifaceted topic, encompassing various forms such as
verbal, non-verbal, interpersonal, mass, digital, and cross-cultural communication, among others.
Narrowing down the focus of the essay to a specific aspect of communication requires careful
consideration and research to ensure depth and relevance.

Moreover, effective communication itself is a complex phenomenon influenced by numerous factors

including cultural backgrounds, social contexts, personal experiences, and technological
advancements. Understanding these intricacies and analyzing their implications within the confines
of an essay can be daunting.

Furthermore, communicating ideas effectively through writing requires a mastery of language,

organization, and argumentation. Crafting a coherent and persuasive essay demands clarity of
thought, logical structure, and adept use of evidence to support claims. Balancing theoretical
frameworks with practical examples and real-world applications adds another layer of complexity to
the writing process.

Additionally, staying abreast of current research and emerging trends in communication theory and
practice is essential for producing a relevant and insightful essay. This necessitates extensive reading
and critical engagement with scholarly literature, which can be time-consuming and intellectually
demanding.

In conclusion, while writing an essay on communication offers opportunities for exploration and
intellectual growth, it also presents significant challenges in terms of scope, complexity, and scholarly
rigor. Successfully navigating these challenges requires dedication, patience, and a commitment to
excellence in academic writing.

Barbara Ehrenreich s Serving In Florida
Although the author of Serving in Florida, Barbara Ehrenreich has similarities of how
life is like below the poverty line with Lars Eighner s essay, On Dumpster Diving, both
texts include differences on how they were barely surviving and the reasoning behind
why they chose to live that particular way. Throughout Ehrenreich s writing, she
developed her essay around the story of her going undercover as a minimum wage
worker to understand what the lifestyle of a low wage income is like for people that
live in poverty. Some details she included were her work environments, the judgemental
customers, her relationships with the other employees, and her overall experience as a
server. Ehrenreich included how gross her work environment at Jerry s
Eckbo and Masulis to Armitage Stocks
What is wrong with rights issues?
Introduction
A rights issue is an issue of rights to purchase new shares, which are issued pro rata to
the existing shareholders, Armitage (2007). Rights issues were the dominate form of
seasoned equity offers for fund raising in the United Sates and the United Kingdom .
However, there has been a swing to other forms of share issues. The US has shifted
towards firm commitments, Eckbo and Masulis (1992). In this the underwriter
guarantees the sale of the issued stock at the agreed upon price. The shift in the US
occurred in the 1960 s. In the UK there has been a move towards open offers. Open
offers are similar to rights issues but investors are unable to sell the stocks that they
purchase under the open ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The value of k is determined by factors beyond managerial control. So, managers treat k
as an exogenous factor.
3.Managers have better information than the market about k. So, low k issuers cannot
falsely signal a high k value. While high k issuers can conceal their information on k by
not selecting a rights offer.
4.Underwriter certification narrows, but does not eliminate, the information asymmetry
between the firm and the market . Eckbo and Masulis (1992) p 310 311

If K=1 then there is full shareholder take up, no wealth transfer and no adverse selection,
so c=0
If K 1then the markets will assume there is no goal alignment between managers and
current shareholders. Some undervalued firms find it too costly to issue, because of the
dilution of current shareholder claims caused by selling shares at prices below intrinsic
value. So, the market believes issuers to be overvalued rather than undervalued. Thus
firms face a trade off between the adverse selection cost of an uninsured rights issue and
the net certification benefit of a firm commitment.
Eckbo and Masulis claim the market cannot distinguish between overvalued and
undervalued issuers but they understand the incentives for undervalued and overvalued
issuers.
They predict the following outcomes;

Comparing Night Of The Living Dead And The Walking Dead
The horror genre has been captivating and enthralling the masses for centuries, but
more recently in the twentieth century these morbid tales have moved from the old
media of oral stories and literature to the new medium of horror pictures. Horror
pictures still are not the end of the evolution of the horror genre, as this medium itself
has experienced evolutions to satisfy an increasingly desensitized audience. To
exemplify this evolution of horror pictures we will be taking a look at an occult classic
from 1968 Night of the living dead and a new thriller The Walking Dead. Both horror
pictures portray a zombie apocalypse and there are similarities and differences in the
main characters, the zombies, and the worlds of the two pictures. In both... Show more

Both pictures explore the same concept and are very similar except in the way that
each picture uses its smoke and mirrors differently to get the same message and terror
across to its viewers. While The Walking Dead focuses on showing grotesque scenes
of people being murdered, eaten by zombies, or whatever ill fate may be fall them,
Night of the Living Dead takes a more conservative approach to their horror. This
picture pan away from scenes of violence while they are actually taking place, and will
pan back to show the aftermath, which tended to be a puddle of blood or someone just
laying on the ground after they had expired. The most gruesome scene of the movie
was , in my opinion, was a scene of a victim that had been devoured by the dead where
the victim was face was shown as a skeleton and was not accompanied by gore. In the
beginning of this movie, when Barbara s brother Johnny got bitten by a zombie, what
was shown was Johnny struggling to get away from the dead man before it panned back
to Johnny laying on the ground. Both pictures will send chills down your spine and cause
A Report On The Lennar Company

Founded in 1954, the Lennar Company is known as one of the largest homebuilders in
the United States along with being a provider of financial services. After listing its
common stock on the New York Stock Exchange, Lennar saw momentous growth
notably in the 80 s and 90 s but in particularly with the acquisition of Pacific Greystone
Corporation. Also in 1997, Lennar saw the completion of their spin off LNR Property
Corp. Furthermore, in 2000 Lennar acquired U.S Home Corp; this helped to further

Lennar s should consider being proactive rather than reactive, by maintaining a strong
bond with retailers, manufactures, customers and anyone else with whom they may do
business with, Lennar s can mitigate any future bad publicity and or any situation as
were presented because of Mr. Minkow s unethical business dealings.
2. In order for Lennar s to be more efficient as well as reduce the chance of being
viewed as acting unethically, they could consolidate their entities as opposed to being
unconsolidated. Having consolidated entities will allow for the parents company to
cover itself along with its subsidiaries in a single report.
3. Lennar should conduct a CSR assessment in order to ascertain where the organization
is in regards to CSR. Lennar s should develop a CSR strategy along with CSR
commitments, this assessment should identify the main risks and opportunities and
determine where the organization is strong and where it is weak in regards to internal
goals.
Selected Solution to the Problem

No company big or small can do anything about CSR unless of course those in the top
levels of management recognize that indeed there is a CSR related problem. By
recognizing this problem, management can then proceed with an assessment with the
purpose of better understanding exactly what the problem is as well as possible
solutions to those problems. This can be done by examining what it is the organization
wishes to achieve in regards to their internal and external goals.
