Character Essay

Writing an essay on the topic of "Character" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty
arises from the broad and abstract nature of the subject. Character encompasses a wide range of
attributes, including personality traits, values, beliefs, and behaviors. Crafting an essay on this topic
requires a thoughtful exploration of various dimensions of character, making it essential to delve into
both internal and external aspects of a person.

One of the challenges is striking a balance between providing a comprehensive understanding of

character and maintaining focus within the essay. The temptation to delve into numerous subtopics
can be overwhelming, leading to a lack of coherence and depth. Additionally, defining and analyzing
character involves subjective judgments, which may require careful consideration to avoid overly
biased perspectives.

Moreover, character essays often demand a nuanced exploration of the development and evolution of
characters over time. This may involve discussing experiences, challenges, and pivotal moments that
shape an individual's character. This complexity adds another layer of difficulty, as it requires not
only a keen understanding of human behavior but also the ability to convey these insights in a clear
and engaging manner.

Despite the challenges, writing an essay on character provides an opportunity for personal reflection
and self-discovery. It encourages writers to explore their own values and beliefs, fostering a deeper
understanding of themselves and others. It also offers a platform to discuss the impact of character
on relationships, society, and personal success.

In conclusion, tackling a "Character Essay" requires a delicate balance between depth and focus,
objectivity, and personal reflection. The challenge lies in navigating the vast terrain of human
characteristics while maintaining clarity and coherence in the essay. However, overcoming these
challenges can lead to a rewarding exploration of the intricacies of human nature.

The author outlines and overviews much of the current research on shiftwork and
extended shifts. Of particular note, this article details the risks associated with the
disturbance of the circadian rhythms (sleep disruption and depravation) and its negative
impact on neurocognitive function and performance. Nightshift fatigue related error
was found to be 28% above baseline, 12 hour shifts also increased the chance of error by

Nurse s sleep was evaluated using wrist worn actigraph with the support of a sleep log;
Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS) and Occupational Fatigue Exhaustion Recovery
scale (OFER) were used to evaluate fatigue levels baseline and intershift. Performance
level was assessed using the Walter Reed Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT).
Consecutive shifts where found to increase the levels of ongoing fatigue and sleepiness
(sleep debt); with increasing performance issues (lapsing) on the PVT test on the
second and third consecutive shifts worked. This research study includes a respectable
data size (80 nurses) with respected and strong data collection tests (actigraph, KSS,
OFER, and PVT). Limitations of the study include a short duration of data collection
cycle, no measure of the effect of shift rotation preceding the shifts worked, and possible
data variance due to nurses who could have worked multiple jobs.

Wicked By Gregory Maguire Analysis
The author of Wicked,Gregory Maguire wrote his story to be engaging in many
levels.Firstly, he uses expanded detail that engages readers who love background.
Similarly, his writing is high quality and contains many similes, metaphors and
personification. His characters are also very consistent in their beliefs. You can tell a
what characters opinion will be just by how much you know about them. Finally, his
writing is occasionally incredibly humorous, and one wants to keep reading, just to be
able to laugh again.

In Wicked,Liir, Elphaba s (perhaps) son, grows up from a whimpering child, to a

headstrong teenager. When we first meet Liir, he is constantly silent and when he meets
Sarina s children, he is scared of them. Developing through the pain and loss he suffers
(like nearly dieing in the fishing well), he becomes stronger after every time he is pushed

She begins as a shallow naive girl, who when her maid gets hurt, rather than having
sympathy, she complains for her not being able to assist her. However, after spending
time with Elphaba, she learns to become less superficial and becomes a better person.

In Wicked, Elphaba learns the importance of companionship. She had spent her whole
life pushing people away, but when she reunites with Feiro, she realizes how much she
needs people in her life, and mourns her for her entire life. Again, when Sarima and her
family are kidnapped, Elphaba spends seven and a half years looking for them. Though
she won t admit it, she needs people (and her animals) to keep her happy.

The title Wicked symbolizes the belief of what wicked truly is. Many people believe
that Elphaba is wicked, so much so that she starts believing it too. In truth, Elphaba is a
unhappy, truthful to fault, stubborn, strong hearted girl. The contrast between good and
evil is far more complicated than one thinks. The true question of the story is if Elphaba

Physics in Sports Essay
Physics in Sports
When many people think of sports, the topic of physics doesn t always come to mind.
They usually don t think about connecting athletics with academics. In reality math,
science, and especially physics, tie into every aspect of sports. Sports are a commonality
that brings nations together, Soccer, known as football to most of the world, is said to an
unspoken language, which unties people from different lands through a passion to play a
game. Athletics and sports are made by the people who play, watch, and study them.
Without all of the enthusiastic participants, there would be no development, education,
and intensity that we all know and love about sports. The one component that reigns over

As for the golf industry there is the issue of everybody wanting to hit the ball farther,
and the golf companies keep putting out new clubs that allow this to be possible. So I
really think that the golf companies will continue to hover around the upper limit COR
of .83 for drivers because there is still a really high demand for drivers that hit the ball a
long way. For pole vaulting I see no issue in the near future. It will be exciting to see the
new advances made to the poles and to see how high the athletes can get. As for the
new sciences in the three articles I really learned a lot. I learned what the trampoline
effect was and how it ties into more than just one sport. I learned what the coefficient of
restitution was and how it affects the flight of a golf ball. I also learned what strain
energy was and how it applies to stored energy. But most importantly I think, is that I
learned that without the understanding of physics none of these sports would be
organized or be able to make the advances that it has over the years.
When it comes down to it everybody is affected by physics in sports. If there are rules
and regulations put on products then the producers are affected greatly. The consumers
are always affected by what the producers put out for them to have. If they are educated
on the physics of the sport then they can make the best possible decision when it comes
to picking a product. This also
Going To College As An Undeclared Major
Going into college as an undeclared major is, while common, a bit intimidating. It
seems like everyone around you knows what they want to be. While your classmates
talk about their future careers as a podiatrist or a chemical engineer, you sit back and try
not to freak out because you re still not sure what you want to do. The reason I chose
Indiana Universityis because I know that while attending, I will receive the guidance to
explore different majors and find what fits me.

At IU, I plan to not only find what I want to major in, but also make a difference.
Volunteering is something I love to do, so either joining a sorority or a community
service club is something I know I will do while attending this school. Another reason I
knew I wanted

But how humor is used in the present situation of English teaching in senior high schools?

II. The Present Situation of English Teaching in Senior High Schools In the 20th century,
numerous English teaching methods had emerged; however, all of them, the most
popular one about 1980s, have not reached a satisfying result. Thus, from 1990s, the main
idea of English teaching does not consider method as an important aspect of English
teaching. Because the methods ignore the fact that the learning process is conceived in
the interactive activity with other people, and the English teaching environments such as
culture, politics are also ignored. Under this main tendency the English curriculum
standard was formulated by our national education department, English teaching takes a
social constructivism as its theoretical foundation. This English teaching method
classifies the different positions of teachers and students in the classroom. It points out
the teacher is no longer the focus in the classroom and the role of teacher is transformed
from a knowledge provider to a students helper and instructor. And these standards need
the special language use by teachers, namely, the humor. There are some characters of the
traditional English teaching system. The first, teachers try their best to make any
possible way to improve students marks. Some of the teachers should be respected for
their effort, but they use wrong methods, so the
Network, Virtual Local Area Networks ( Vlans )
In the past, companies were hampered by the cost, performance, and security issues
that are associated with local area networks or LANs. LANs must be connected
physically to switches which means that each LAN must have its own switch
(prtl.uhcl.edu, 2016, para. 13). The virtualized version of the LANs, virtual local area
networks (VLANs), allows users to invest in only one switch (prtl.uhcl.edu, 2016,
para. 13). The VLAN is used in a virtual data center environment to separate a single
LAN into more than one network while being physically connected to only one
switch. One advantage of VLANs is that network administrators can now sort devices
by whatever criteria they require without physical location being an issue. Different
VLANs can be set for different groups or departments within the same LAN.
Performance is improved because, when the LAN is broken up into VLANs, it is not
receiving broadcasts from all of the devices (certbros.com, 2015, para. 4). Cost is
decreased because separate physical switches are not required for VLANs. A security
benefit is provided because VLANs can be configured to accommodate the different
security levels needed, and the administrator can choose whether or not to allow the
VLANs to communicate with each other (certbros.com, 2015, para. 6). VRFs
Virtualization is also used in the data center to acquire more routing instances without
acquiring more hardware (Santana, 2014. P. 90). This technology is known as Virtual
Routing and
