One day in 2011, Daniil, a 13-year-old Russian boy, was going
for a walk on a beach with his parents when he saw something

He opened the bottle. Inside, there was a piece of paper that was wrapped in clear plastic. Through
the plastic, Daniil could see some writing on the paper. It was a message in German. Daniil’s father
knew a little German and he read it. The message said, ‘My name is Frank, and I’m five years old.
My dad and I are travelling on a ship to Denmark. If you find this letter, please write back to me,
and I will write back to you.’ On the paper was Frank’s address in Germany and a date in 1987.
Daniil couldn’t believe it. He wrote a letter to Frank, but he didn’t think Frank could still be at the
same address after 24 years. Surprisingly, Frank’s parents still lived there. Frank was amazed when
he read Daniil’s letter. Later, Daniil and Frank spoke online in a video call. They were very happy!
