Each stage can be obtained for

mission points, where every new stage obtained will give you a new reward.

You’re able to earn mission points in

Air Battles
at Rank III or above in Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles. The number of mission
points to complete a stage depends on the game mode and the maximum Rank of the vehicle
that you use in battle. There’s a multiplier for earning mission points, which is shown in the
task description in-game.
You can also earn mission points by using event vehicles that are Rank I and II. Event
vehicles that can be used have the name of the event that they were obtainable in on their stat
card.

Stages change every two days at 11:00 GMT on February 24th, 26th and 28th; March 1st,
3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th.

Rewards are given when you complete a specific number of stages

Discounts on purchasing stages using Golden Eagles

Unfinished stages can be purchased for Golden Eagles, but If you’re significantly close to
completing a stage, its price will now be significantly reduced.

Let’s say you have earned 85% of the required mission points to complete a stage, then the
price of purchasing this stage will be halved. If you’re near the finish line for a stage and are
at 95% progress, then the price will be reduced by five times. For example, if you’ve scored
39,000 mission points, then the price for unlocking this stage will be 499 Golden Eagles. If
you’ve scored 43,000 mission points, then you’ll only need to pay 199 Golden Eagles.
Remember to keep this in mind if you cannot complete a stage on time!

The Upgrade for coupon

When you complete 8 stages, you’ll receive a non-tradable coupon for the Jaguar IS, where
using it will immediately activate the vehicle onto your account. If you don’t want the vehicle
and would like to sell the coupon on the Market, you’ll need the “Upgrade for coupon” item.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item can be earned in parallel with the stages throughout the event
from February 22nd (11:00 GMT) until March 11th (11:00 GMT) for 750,000 mission points.

After receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” item, you can convert a non-tradable coupon for
the vehicle into a tradable one and sell it on the Market. The tradable coupon can be sold after
6 days from the moment it’s created.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item is valid until 11:00 GMT on March 14th. Until this time, you
can use it or exchange it for War Bonds. Afterwards, it’ll disappear from your inventory.

You can track the progress of completing stages and receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” by
clicking on your Nickname > Achievements > Sword of Justice. If you don’t manage to
complete a stage on time or would like to purchase a stage, until
March 14th
from the Achievements window, you can purchase each stage with Golden Eagles which will
give you the corresponding rewards.

Small Update / Patch Notes

Update 2.33.0.135

 In Ground Realistic Battles, active scouting of a recently destroyed enemy (less than 1
second ago) is no longer considered a miss and blocks the reuse of scouting for 6
seconds, which is the same time for a successful scout, rather than for 45 seconds.
 Starting with the Sword of Justice event, the cost of purchasing an event stage with
Golden Eagles will be significantly reduced when the player reaches 85% and 95%
progress in completing a stage.
 Disappearance and deformation of textures when using the latest NVIDIA video card
drivers has been fixed.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this
Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War

Update 2.33.0.132

 Tearing off the tail of helicopters with coaxial rotors is no longer counted as
destruction, since it does not have a significant impact on the performance of these
types of helicopters. This should help situations where players stop firing at one of
these helicopters thinking it is no longer a threat.
 The detachment of an aircraft wing when the allowable load is exceeded is no longer
counted as a destruction, the same as with the tearing off of flaps or landing gear.

Previously announced changes to vehicle grouping have been implemented:

 The 2S3M has been grouped with the 2S1, and the He 111 H-3 has been grouped with
the BV 138 C-1.
 The BV 138 C-1 has been grouped with the He 115 C-1.
 The “Strela-10M2” has moved from Rank VI to Rank VII.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this
Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War

Regular Update

It’s Fixed! №87

Today, we’re going to be talking about the work on improvements and bug fixes to the game
over the past 2 weeks. We’ve selected some that we think will be interesting to see, so let’s
take a look!

If you’ve found a bug that you’d like to report, you can do so on our community bug
reporting platform.

FPS freezes have been focused on and fixed

In the battles of War Thunder, not only does every second count, but even a split second is
enough to decide the outcome of a situation. That’s why a stable frame rate is so important,
especially when flying an aircraft over a tank battlefield.

It was precisely in this situation that the game could freeze up: in ground battles, when flying
over a cluster of ground vehicles, an aircraft pilot’s screen sometimes froze for about a
second, or even longer in some cases. This could cause an aircraft to lose control and crash.

We’ve found the root cause of this problem and have fixed it.

Scouting has been fixed, and improved!

We’ve received many reports from you that active scouting did not work as it should. In
Ground Realistic Battles, enemy vehicles were not scouted at a noticeable distance, even if
the target was directly in the crosshairs of the gun sight or binoculars: it was not marked as
scouted.

Not only did we fix this problem, we continued to improve the logic of active scouting.

Another improvement concerns rewards for scouting. If a player has already shot at an enemy
before you scouted and then destroyed them, then the game has nothing to reward you for,
since another player successfully detected that enemy themselves. Therefore in this situation,
you’ll be given a reward “Not by intelligence”. It’s less valuable, meaning you’ll not receive
an increase in air strike and artillery points (in Ground Arcade), and a reduction in the cost of
spawn points for aircraft (Ground Realistic).

A new HUD for the Battle gamemode

We’ve improved the HUD in the Battle ground gamemode, to make the goals and objectives
of each team clearer. We’ve removed the team points bar in favor of a more readable display
of the number of destroyed vehicles to win and the current number for each team. Under this
indicator you can now also see a timer, where when this runs out, the team that has destroyed
the most enemy vehicles wins.

Fixed display of vehicles at a distance

Targeting pods and built-in optics for high-ranking aircraft help in detecting ground targets
and ensure the use of weapons at ranges comparable to the engagement ranges of air defense
systems at similar Battle Ratings. However, due to an error in applying the angular
dimensions of targets with the detection range through sights, these ranges were noticeably
less than those necessary for small targets. This meant that for small vehicles like the
Swedish Lvrbv 701, the maximum range at which it could be detected in a sight or targeting
pod was about 8 km. Now, after fixing this issue, its detection range is over 20 km, and for
larger vehicles, even more.

That’s not all

The full list of improvements can be found in each update note! Let’s go through a few:
stabilizers no longer allow you to increase the turret rotation speed, creating a new preset no
longer leads to the gamemode changing, and the penetration values of shells are now again
visible in the stat cards of all vehicles.

 Update 2.33.0.114
 Update 2.33.0.111
 Update 2.33.0.110
 Update 2.33.0.105

Today's update: Update 2.33.0.130

Ground Vehicles

 A bug where the selection of machine guns and cannons did not function correctly has
been fixed.
 Ka-Chi

— incorrect placement of decorations when the pontoons were removed has been
fixed.

 Ariete

— incorrect placement of decorations when the War Kit modification was removed
has been fixed.

 Missing armor penetration values on the stat cards of some vehicles has been fixed.
(Report)
 Incorrect operation of the stabilizer, which allowed the player to increase aiming
speed and turret rotation has been fixed.
 The animation of tracks on destroyed armor vehicles when they are being towed has
been removed.
 Ratel 20

— a bug causing no separate ATGM sight to be present has been fixed. (Report)

Aircraft

 A bug with the radar on the F-14 where in ‘Track While Scan’ mode, the radar could
switch between targets, which made it difficult to launch AIM-54 missiles has been
fixed.
 A21A-3

— a bug that caused the wrong order of bomb drops has been fixed.

 All airborne radars with BVR mode now have a target tracking prolongation time of 3
seconds.
 ACM and HMD radar modes range for F-16A/D (all variants), AV-8B Plus (Italy),
Mirage 2000 (all variants) and J-8F was increased to 10 NM.

Naval Vessels

 The inability to activate a tow rope has been fixed.

Game Mechanics

 A bug where in some cases in Ground Realistic Battles, active scouting did not work,
despite the fact that the target was in the crosshairs of the scout’s sight or binoculars
has been fixed.
 In Ground Arcade and Realistic battles, when a scouted target is destroyed by a player
who attacked it within 60 seconds before the scouting, the scout is now always given
a “Not by intelligence” reward. This also means that the scout will not receive an
increase in air strike and artillery points (in Ground Arcade), and a reduction in the
cost of spawn points for aircraft (Ground Realistic).
 A bug in Ground Arcade battles when destroying a scouted target from an aircraft, the
reward “Not by intelligence” was always given, without taking into account whether
the player had seen the target before the scouting or not has been fixed.

Graphics

 A bug that led to FPS drops in Naval Battles due to the display of damage in the hit
camera has been fixed.
 Critical FPS drops (freezes) when flying over tank areas have been fixed.

Interface

 A new HUD for the “Battle” ground mode has been added. Instead of a bar of team
points, it shows the number of destroyed vehicles required for an instant victory, as
well as the current number for each team. It also includes a mission timer, after which
victory is awarded to the team with the most kills. The logic of the mission has not
changed, but has just become more clear.
 A bug where crew slots were hidden when the crew window was open due to a larger
interface scale has been fixed.
 A bug that caused the game mode to change when creating a new vehicle preset has
been fixed.
 A bug where a squad invitation was not shown in the chat has been fixed.
 The text color in the skill bonus tooltip in the statistics window has been changed for
better readability.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this
Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War
Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client
being updated.

First up is this anime skin created by YouseiYukikaze for the Phantom FGR.2. They’ve
created the skin themselves and then made this fantastic looking model with the same skin.
We’re a fan of this one!

By YouseiYukikaze
The ZTZ99A is a cool looking tank, and Mr.milk has drawn a perfectly accurate picture of it!
Keep up the fantastic work.

By Mr.milk

Another one! A neatly drawn picture of the WZ1001(E) LCT. It looks really good, fantastic
work here too.

By kllmrqttzz

A Leopard 2A4 drawing by C0orav! They said that they drew this one in their architecture
class at university but recommend you to not do the same!

By C0orav

A super detailed Sherman Firefly by Gybby3 on some maths paper. Excellently detailed and
great highlighting, well done here!

By Gybby3

What happens when the smallest tank in the game takes out the biggest tank in the game?
You get a funny screenshot. These tiny L3/33 CC boys have done a good job here.
Overgrown Maus destroyed!

By Ibuki
The Leopard 2A6 is one of the most popular top-tier MBTs in War Thunder. This model
looks almost exactly like the tank we’ve got in the game. Great contrast!

By ALB 23

FULZY has been featured before for good reason — they create awesome wallpaper art for
many jet aircraft. Check out this MiG 29 G!

By FULZY

Ever had that moment when you’re about to take a shot on an enemy and then your cat jumps
onto your desk for a nap? That’s what happened here, this cute cat has made a wild
appearance!

By DonaldTR1P

This one’s funky, an Ostwind II drawn on a whiteboard using marker pens. A formidable
sight to behold. Nice work!

By DonaldTR1P

The Spitfire Mk.22 is a beast of an aircraft, and so is this drawing of it. The shadows, details
and setting really spike up our imagination. Nice work!

By The past is like smoke

An awesome coloring of the AMX-30B2, which is LawrenceXVIII’s favorite tank. We love
the details and colors used, especially the dirt on the front.

By LawrenceXVIII

A brush painted Pzkpfw II at 1/35 scale. Looks clean and tidy, we love the colors chosen and
paint work.

By Free^kill-74

We featured a cat, now we’ve got a Pan Więcek’s dog scouting using a Puma! Looks cute!

By Pan Więcek

In the last major update, we added Volcano Valley and some volcanoes. This is one of the
coolest screenshots that we’ve seen featuring an F-15A.

By 芙兰朵露撕卡雷忒

VARK VARK VARK! The Aardvark has the biggest bomb load in the game and this
screenshot really showcases that. Awesomely detailed!

By FULZY

That's all for now!

The wonderful work created by our community that we have shared has been posted to the
War Thunder Community Hub — make sure you check it out and even share your own
creations that we may feature here in the Community Spotlight! We look forward to seeing

The Rooivalk is Back on the Anniversary of its First Flight!

At the beginning of 1984, South Africa began development of a new attack helicopter to
participate in the South African Border War. However, the Rooivalk prototype took to the
skies for the first time on February 11th 1990 after the conflict ended. Improvements to the
Rooivalk still continue, and a small number that were produced continue to serve to this day.

The Rooivalk Mk1F CSH is back for Golden Eagles and is here to stay!
Available for
8,560
Golden Eagles!

When:
From February 9th (15:00 GMT).
Where:
Great Britain > Helicopters > Premium vehicles.

About this helicopter

 The Rooivalk is a survivable helicopter with good performance characteristics. It

carries the formidable Mokopa air-to-ground missile that has a tandem warhead and
the FZ49 HEAT rockets which can be fired accurately thanks to a ballistic computer.
In addition to this, this helicopter can fire the Mistral air-to-air missile with an all-
aspect IR seeker, which can lock targets at a distance of 6 km. In close air
engagements or to fire at ground targets, a reliable 20 mm cannon can also be used!

National Foundation Day in Japan: Rare Vehicles Temporarily on Sale!

After the Meiji Revolution and the restoration of the emperor’s power in Japan, it was
decided to establish a national holiday to unite the country around the ruler. The occasion
chosen for the celebration was the accession of Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan, which,
according to legend, took place on the 1st day of the 1st month of the lunar year.

With the transition to the Gregorian calendar in 1873, it was decided to fix the holiday date to
February 11th. This holiday was abolished in the post-war period, but later returned again in
1966 — no longer as a celebration of the emperor, but as a celebration of the founding of the
country.

Discounts in the Gaijin.net Store!

From February 8th (07:00 GMT) until February 13th (07:00 GMT).

 Type 16 (FPS) Pack

 F-4EJ Phantom II ADTW Pack
 IJN Yamashiro Pack
 Japanese Starter Pack

 IJN Kiyoshimo is a Yugumo-class destroyer that saw action in the Pacific theater in
1944. It’s fast and maneuverable, and its 127 mm main guns have good ballistics. One
specially good feature is its torpedoes, which are fast and extremely deadly, as well as
its excellent air defense to help fend off enemy aircraft.

 The A6M5 Ko is a Japanese fighter with unsurpassed maneuverability in combat. It’s

armed with good 20 mm cannons on the wings and 7.7 mm machine guns which have
enough ammunition to deal good damage. Use the Zero’s agility to dodge enemy
shots and get behind your opponents!

The Type 74 (G) is back for Golden Eagles and is here to stay!
Pickup the Type 74 (G) that’s back for good!

 The Type 74 (G) is the most modern modification of the Type 74 MBT that was
developed in the 90s. This tank has decent mobility and is equipped with a thermal
imager and hydraulic suspension that’s capable of adjusting the height of the hull. Its

Update 2.33.0.114

Ground Vehicles

 T-90M

— a bug that led to the disappearance of ammunition in the hull when ammunition in
the turret burned out has been fixed.

Aircraft

 A bug where looking through targeting optics, such as target designation pods, enemy
markers could be detected at distances exceeding the enemy marker detection
capabilities and crew skills has been fixed.
Sounds

 The engine sounds of enemy and allied ground vehicles have become slightly louder
and more noticeable (the hearing distance has not been changed). Tracks have become
slightly more noticeable with distance.
 The BMD-4, 2S25 and 2S25M have received their own, more suitable engine sounds.
 The Tiger, Tiger II and other tanks with the same engine have received an updated
sound that better reflect power and speed.
 The Pantsir-S1 has received an updated engine sound that better reflects the dynamics
and operating modes.
 The volume balance of the Abrams turbine howl and compressor fan for the player
has been changed so that they are less annoying.
 An ATGM fired from the barrel of a tank has a new and more realistic sound.
 Firefighting sounds for ground and naval vehicles have been made more noticeable.
 Wind sound now depends on its current speed on a map. The singing of birds has
become more noticeable. Previously, if a shot was fired within a radius of 500 m by a
player, birds would fall silent for 60 seconds. Now, the radius has been reduced to 100
m and the resumption time to 10 seconds.

Other changes

 The level of the War Bond shop will now increase even if the player does not claim
the level reward in the Battle pass reward row.

Pages of History (February): Through a Storm

In this month’s Pages of History, you’ll be at the center of events that took place in different
theaters of war. Many important battles ranging from the end of World War II, as well as
major battles in the Middle East: take part in battles with the vehicles corresponding to these
historic battles and receive prizes.

From February 1st until February 29th, you’ll be offered 8 tasks consecutively. Completing
each will reward you with a trophy, and completing all of them will earn you a unique player
icon.

Reward for completing all 8 tasks

Eugene Esmonde
Eugene Esmond was a Fleet Air Arm pilot during World War II. He earned the Distinguished
Service Order for his participation in the attack on the German battleship Bismarck. On
February 12th 1942, Esmond led a torpedo bomber squadron against a heavily defended
German convoy crossing the Strait of Dover as part of Operation Cerberus. Left without
cover, he continued the attack on enemy ships under heavy fire. As a result, his entire squad
was destroyed with Esmond himself killed. For his heroism he was posthumously awarded
the Victoria Cross.

You can immediately purchase this profile icon for Golden Eagles until March 3rd, 11:30
GMT without completing tasks. To find it, go to your Nickname → Achievements → Pages
of History.

Trophy reward for each task

Completion of each individual task will bring you a trophy with one of the following
rewards:

 20-50% RP booster for 3-10 battles;

 20-50% SL booster for 3-10 battles;
 3-5 universal backup vehicles;
 1 day of premium account;
 A random camouflage for ground vehicles (out of the selection of camouflages
currently obtainable in game for completing tasks, or purchasing with Golden Eagles).

Other terms

 Tasks are available from 11:00 GMT until 11:30 GMT on the final day of each task.
 Tasks can be completed in random battles, except for “Assault” mode.

You can see a detailed description of what task is for what day and your overall progress by
going to your Nickname → Achievements → Pages of History.

February 1st — February 4th

Battle of Manila
On February 3rd 1945 the battle for Manila, the capital of the Philippines, began. It took the
superior US forces a month to liberate the city from Japanese troops, who fought to the last.
For the Americans, these were the fiercest urban battles in the entire Pacific theater.

February 4th — February 7th

Battle of the Admin Box
In early 1944, there was much fighting on the border between Japanese-occupied Burma and
British India. As part of a foray from the Japanese into Burma on February 5th, British troops
were surrounded, but were able to quickly build a defense around the administrative area
(which is why the place received the nickname “Admin box”). Thanks to the presence of
tanks and a constant supply of supplies from the air, the Allies managed to hold out for 18
days until the starving Japanese were forced to retreat.

February 8th — February 11th

Lam Son 719
From February 8th to March 25th, 1971, South Vietnamese troops, under the cover of
artillery and the US Air Force, carried out an operation in Laos to defeat North Vietnamese
forces. The operation ended in failure: the Viet Cong continued to use supply routes through
Laos, and the losses of US helicopters alone exceeded over a hundred.

February 11th — February 14th

Operation Cerberus
From February 11th to 13th 1942, an operation took place to redeploy the German battleships
Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen from Brest in western France
to Germany. British attempts to intercept the convoy were made in haste: the bombers did not
receive sufficient cover and suffered heavy losses without causing damage to the ships.
Germany achieved its goals.

February 15th — February 18th

Narva offensive
In the second half of February 1944, Army Group North made a successful attempt to stop
the advance of Soviet troops into Estonia. The strengthened Wehrmacht forces successfully
repelled the advance of the Red Army and inflicted huge losses on it. The USSR managed to
take Narva only at the end of July.

February 19th — February 22nd

Battle of Kasserine Pass
The first major battle on the North African front involving American troops showed their
inexperience and poor organization. On February 19th, 1943, Axis forces under the command
of Field Marshal Rommel, who fled under Allied pressure to Tunisia, launched a
counteroffensive — and achieved considerable success. Allied forces, especially US units,
suffered huge losses and were forced to retreat tens of kilometers. This defeat delayed the end
of the North African campaign by several months.

February 22nd — February 25th

Operation Grenade
After victory at the Bulge, the Allies advanced deeper into Germany. In early February 1945,
the Germans opened the floodgates on the Ruhr River to stop the enemy advance. The
American 9th Army only managed to cross the river on February 23rd, defeating the German
troops and taking many prisoners.

February 26th — February 29th

Battle of Norfolk
On February 27th 1991, the largest tank battle in the Gulf War took place: more than 12
divisions took part in it. The international coalition won a resounding victory: the loss of
equipment on its side amounted to tens of units, and on the Iraqi side — in the thousands.

Small Update / Patch Notes

Update 2.33.0.105

Aircraft
Display of vehicles at a distance

Targeting pods and optics for high-ranked aircraft help to see ground targets and give the
ability to launch at ranges that are comparable to the engagement ranges of SAMs. However,
due to a bug in applying angular target sizes to the detection range through targeting optics,
these ranges were noticeably smaller than they should have been for small targets. For
example, for smaller vehicles such as the Swedish Lvrbv 701, the maximum range at which it
could be detected in the targeting pod was about 8 km. After fixing this bug, its detection
range will be over 20 km instead, and for larger targets even more.

 A bug with the incorrect display of vehicles at long ranges when using targeting
optics for aircraft has been fixed.
 A bug where looking through targeting optics, such as target designation pods, enemy
markers could be detected at distances exceeding the enemy marker detection
capabilities and crew skills has been fixed.

Other aircraft fixes

 A bug where the Prandtl-Glauert effect was not visible to other players has been
fixed.
 F-16C, Barak II

— incorrect heading display on the HUD compass in the cockpit has been fixed.

Ground Vehicles

 KPz-70, MBT-70

— a bug that caused the autocannon’s aim to raise in a specific area of fire has been
fixed. (Report 1) (Report 2)
 A bug during air events in Ground Arcade battles that caused the outlines of allied
vehicles to be visible to players who were in an aircraft has been fixed.

Naval Vessels

 A bug that caused sea mines to sink when coming into contact with allies has been
fixed.

Other fixes

 A bug that could cause repaired vehicles to remain crew locked has been fixed.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this
Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War
Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client
being updated.

Fair Play: January 2024 and CAPTCHA

We’ve been fighting accounts that use bots for a long time, and we’re sure that active players
have noticed the result as we’ve managed to significantly reduce the number of bots in all
modes. We also continue to identify violators who use prohibited modifications, and today
the number of blocked accounts is impressive.

Banned accounts
Over the last month, we’ve blocked
9,569
accounts that were found to be in violation of the rules. Specifically 3.2.3 of the EULA
namely in the automation of gameplay (using bots) and cheat software.

For full transparency, we’re publishing the full list of these blocked players. This list will be
available for two weeks starting from the publication of this article.
Player behavior analysis system and CAPTCHA for suspicious players
Over the past few months, we’ve been particularly focused on combating accounts that use
automated gameplay, or bots as they’re normally called. Improved analysis methods that
learn from player behavior allow us to effectively identify any offenders. Your complaints
also play a key role in this process, as they help us quickly respond to new bot practices and
provide a fair gaming experience for everyone.

We strive to ensure that every decision we make is fair and reasonable. Understanding that
there are accounts that may seem suspicious, we’ve introduced new CAPTCHA functionality.
Accounts that the system suspects of using bots will be periodically subject to automatic
verification using CAPTCHA, and if your account is under suspicion don’t worry — just
complete the CAPTCHA to continue playing. The CAPTCHA will be displayed to suspected
players before the battle, which in turn will help further reduce the number of bots in the
game.

In obvious cases by analyzing a player’s behavior when completing the CAPTCHA, the
system will be able to automatically block a violator’s account. At the same time, we’re
making every effort to avoid false positives in the system. This is an additional step in
ensuring the integrity of all War Thunder battles.

What we recommend
We recommend that you set a strong password for your account and enable two-step
authentication in your profile. This will help protect your account from fraudsters. And
remember, don’t use forbidden client modifications and never share your account information
with anyone!
