The cruise industry is the most exciting growth category in the entire leisure market.
Since 1990, the industry has had an average annual passenger growth rate of 7.2% per

The Remembrance Of A Grandmother
In Remembrance OF A Grandmother Grandparents are the best of friend and gentle
person you will ever meet. They love and care about their granddaughters very much.
Children enjoy spending time with their grandparents because they are full of stories
and always seem to have candy or cookie with them. Children are always excited about
their grandparents visitation especially on holidays and birthdays. They hoped that
one day they will see their granddaughters grow up and change the world. In the long
run, their life turned upside down, and they never get to see that day comes to pass.
One day they are here and then they are gone, leaving you behind wondering what you
could have done to keep them longer. First of all, my great grandmother Akosua, was
not just an ordinary woman. She was talented, adventurous, friendly and joyful person
you will ever meet. When grandmother Akosua was younger, she traveled around the
world, serving her famous cuisine to workers in isolated places. There were any cars
during those day so she walked by foot crossing boarder to boarder entering into other
lands. She would take two week trip to the other native land and sell food to the
people who were living or working there. Sometimes when her food is finished, she
would stay longer, and cook for them. She was always trying new things and going
beyond her limit. She got the kindness of heart that loves giving and helping people
anyway she could. When people come to her in the market where she
Analysis Of Steven Galloway s The Cellist Of Sarajevo
Knowing no one is coming, but not wanting to believe it : How war affects the self
concept of those living in the battlefield in The Cellist of Sarajevo

Steven Galloway s novel The Cellist of Sarajevo follows Sarajevo citizens who are
struggling to survive in their home during the genocide which occurred there in the
1990 s. These people become psychologically affected through living on a battleground,
and in a life altering way. The very image of war is enough for most to feel disappointed
in mankind, but watching your home crumble around you while being able to see the
faces of those causing the destruction would likely make one lose any remaining faith in
humanity. This is demonstrated in The Cellist by the agency of the bystanders ... Show

Just then it starts raining and everything gets washed away: not even a trace of the
young guy is left, nor a trace of the canister. Just water. As if nothing on the street
changed, except everyone got just a bit quieter(11).
This is almost the exact scene from The Cellist(Galloway 159 163) in which afterward
Kenan is quiet, as are the people in the poem, but he also is in such shock from the
tragedy that he pays no attention to the water that spills (165) and is careless, likely
beginning to show this change in personality after the gore he has witnesses. This later
translates into him feeling detached [and] unconcerned about others (Reactions after
trauma), seen when he decides to leave Mrs. Ristovski s water behind in the war zone.
Kenan has full intent of going back over the bridge a second time to retrieve her water,
but spur of the moment He turns away, and picks up the rope binding his own bottles
(Galloway 171). The caring and helpful nature observed earlier shies away after living
the crimes being committed against his people, which can be viewed as an effect of the
bombing, as before that had happened or set in he had full intentions to bring water back
for his neighbour. Kenan is of the unlucky who must venture out of their houses and face
this reality multiple times a week, while opposite that is Dragan and Emina, who have
personal reasons to subject themselves to the gore. Starting with Emina, who is
Reflection About Reading
If you ponder about it, most people wouldn t make it in this world we live in today if
they didn t know how to read and write. Reading is everywhere and is a very important,
as well as a necessary, part of the human life. Everyday activities include reading road
signs, magazines, billboards, texts, newspapers, emails, books, labels and so on. Over the
years of learninghow to properly read and write, my family and teachers have definitely
made a massive impact on my readingand writing techniques that I use today. Books
have been an enormous part of my life, if not one of the biggest. They provided me
with unforgettable memories that I am thankful for today as I use their advice
throughout my life. Because of the fact that this was my very first day of preschool,
my body was trembling under my clothes with fear. This would become my first
literary memory. Man, did this day start great. Perfectly dressed from head to toe in
my new favorite outfit, I strutted in boldly with a sweet smile on my face. The day
started out with my classmates and I playing matching word games in a circle group
together as a class. By taking turns, I got to hear other kids saying words aloud as well
as myself when it was my turn. This experience helped me start learning to read
because it taught me to pronounce the words and match it with what animal it paired
with. As we did this activity over and over I realized that I could read all of the
matching words. Our next activity was to learn bigger

Female Representations Between American Psycho and Misery In the media, gender is
stereotypically represented by splitting both men and women into two categories.
Within these categories are specific traits that have led women to become represented
as inferior to men. Women are presented as sexual, emotional and dependant while men
are portrayed as strong, reliant and independent. This causes males in the media to be
the hero who has the capabilities to take on the active roles while women deal with the
passive roles. The representation of both genders significantly influence the way that the
horror genre is portrayed in today s movies (Santili, 2007). A prime example is ... Show

This is how Bateman and his colleagues think about women and also how the media
portrays the importance of what women are: sex symbols. Women in American Psycho
are depicted as nothing more than sexual desires and personality or intelligence has little
to no importance in the story. A primary example is when Bateman has sex with two
prostitutes named Christie and Sabrina. Afterwards, he proceeds to torture both women
where [he] impatiently leads them to the door, both of them dressed and sobbing,
bleeding but well paid (Ellis, 1991). This scene displays the lack of intelligence or
personality that both women have and goes on to demonstrates how Bateman used them
for his sexual and sadistic pleasures. However, in Stephen King s Misery , there is a lack
of sexualisation towards the female protagonist. Paul Sheldon, who is trapped within
the home of crazed Annie Wilkes is less than thrilled to be stuck inside a isolated
house with a woman. While most works of horror have younger female actresses, Annie
Wilkes is a middle aged women who plays a big part in the story (Foster, 2014). Misery
certainly subverts the sexual appeal that the media portrays in today s horror genre.
Emotional characteristics are another representation that women are shown to have in the
media. Women are displayed as weak, inferior human beings that are
