Red, yellow or orange tourmalines appear better when seen under iridescent lighting.
There are some types of red tourmalines that even appear brown when seen in natural
sunlight, which may look unattractive to some buyers. On the other hand, blue, green and
violet tourmalines appear considerably better against natural sunlight. Therefore, when
shopping for a stone, examine it uner both artificial and natural lighting. Hardness on
the Mohn Scale The Mohs scale is used to measure mineral and gem hardness.
Tourmaline falls between 7.0 to 7.5. The numbers of the Mohn scale are determined on
how difficult or easy it is for a mineral or gem to be scratched. Numbers range from 1 to
10 with the higher the number, the softer is the mineral. Additional Considerations and
Warnings Consider transparency as tourmaline beads range from transparent to opaque.
Keep tourmaline stored away from hard materials and harder gemstones to prevent them
from damaging it. Protect these gemstones from exposure to large changes in
temperature as this can result in the crystal fracturing. For instance, don t leave your

He wrote pieces for the church, vocal music, consort music, and keyboard music.
Although he was a Catholic, his loyalty cost him considerable trouble in times of
persecution in England. He served as a member of the Chapel Royal, providing music
for the liturgy of the Church of England and for his fellow Catholics. Byrd s church
compositions was separated into two separate categories, one for the Catholic liturgy
and one was designed for the officially recognized Church of England. The first
category includes a Mass for three, four or five voices. He also had many works for
the church for the different seasons. For the Church of England he wrote a Great
Service and three other service settings, using Anglican liturgy. There are also a
number of anthems, psalm settings and consort songs with sacred texts. He also wrote
a number of consort songs, which used quite a few different instruments. Byrd
provided music for various groups of instruments, usually to be performed in
homogeneous ensembles and generally on viols. Byrd was mostly well known as a
keyboard player. He wrote most of his music for the virginals and song variations. The

The Social Issue of Ageing
Social Issue of ageing

Social issues are controversial issues that relate to the lives of people and their
interactions. Some social issues are distinguishable from economic issues while some
consist of both social and economic aspects. Social issues are conditions that at least
some people view as being undesirable Ageing in humans refers to various changes that
include physical, psychological change. Some of the dimensions of ageing might
grow and expand over time while others decline. Ageing introduces some
psychological and physical changes in people, studies have shown that mental
abilities decline with age in fact research has proved that short term memory declines
with age. As people grow older their declarative memory for episodic events and
experiences also declines remarkably. The older people face more difficulties when it
comes to tasks that require the conscious or declarative retrieval of particular events.
Apart from memory, ageing also impacts people s language and reading g skills. Their
vision also weakens that affects their ability to read (questia, 2012) .There are various
theories that can be associated with aging this are both biological and non biological
theories. Among the non biological theories are disengagement theory that brings forth
the idea that the separation of the older people from an active role in the society is
normal and appropriate and has benefits to both the society and older individuals.
Another theory the activity theory
Analysis Of The Intruder By Andre Dubus
In Andre Dubus short story The Intruder , he explores the mind of a 13 year old boy
named Kenneth Girard. Kenneth has an overactive imagination that causes him to
intermingle reality and fallacy, which ultimately causes him to shoot his sister s
boyfriend, unknowingly. Kenneth s character in this story symbolizes the transition
from childhood to adolescence. Kenneth is a child that lacks talents aside from being
able to shoot well: But he found that there was one thing he could do well and he did it
alone, or with his father; he could shoot and he could hunt. He felt that shooting was
the only thing that had ever been easy for him (Dubus 11). Shooting is Kenneth s way
of escaping the truth of the world, it is where he can envision himself being the hero
that saves a drowning girl, defeats a band of villains, or captures a farmhouse. Kenneth
going out to shoot on his own builds upon his already introverted personality and creates
a larger gap between him and those around him. He feels uncomfortable around people
especially football players because they give off an air of confidence that causes him...

imagined what would have happened if Douglas had entered the house and been with
Connie, but reality draws him back. He grew a hatred for his rifle within that moment

Technology Development Life Cycle ( Tdlc )
Introduction When explaining the technology development life cycle (TDLC), it is
necessary to include the technology transfer process (TTP) and the funding sources
that are out there. Without discussing all three of these areas it would be difficult to
understand how an idea for an invention makes it to being a household item. The role
of the TDLC is to show how a technology develops during each of the five stages. The
TTP shows how the technology transitions between these stages when ownerships of
the project changes. Lastly, where the funding comes from and why investors stop
investing. Technology Development Life Cycle The TDLC consists of five steps:
basic research, proof of concept, early stage technology development (ESTD), product
development, and production (Branscomb, 2002). These five steps help illustrate what
is required for a technology to go from its basic research stage to being put on the
market. In its early stages, the technology is used to develop an idea and prove that it
can be done. Take Graphene for example, the basic research of this technology would
have included identifying its properties to determine if it is a flexible material
(Chaochen, Tao, Jiangang, Qinghua, Sen, Haibin, Haimei, 2015). Then the proof of
concept would be showing that graphene is a flexible substance that can potentially be
incorporated into devices to increase their durability (Chaochen, et. al., 2015). The third
step, ESTD, is where a business case would be made that
