Writing an essay on the topic of "School Uniforms: Argumentative Essay" can be both challenging
and thought-provoking. The difficulty lies not only in presenting a well-structured and cohesive
argument but also in navigating through the diverse perspectives surrounding this contentious issue.

To begin with, the topic itself is polarizing, with proponents arguing for the benefits of school
uniforms, such as fostering a sense of unity and reducing socio-economic disparities among students,
while opponents emphasize the importance of individual expression and freedom of choice in
clothing. As a writer, it is essential to thoroughly research and understand both sides of the argument,
considering various studies, anecdotal evidence, and expert opinions.

Crafting a compelling argumentative essay requires a clear thesis statement that encapsulates the main
stance on the issue. Supporting this thesis demands a meticulous examination of evidence, statistics,
and real-life examples. Balancing the emotional and logical aspects of the argument is crucial, as the
topic often evokes strong opinions and personal experiences.

Furthermore, addressing potential counterarguments and refuting them is an integral part of

constructing a robust essay. This involves anticipating opposing views and presenting counter-
evidence or alternative perspectives, showcasing the ability to engage critically with the topic.

Organizing the essay effectively is another challenge, as it requires structuring the content logically
and ensuring a smooth flow of ideas. The introduction should capture the reader's attention, provide
necessary background information, and present a clear thesis statement. The body paragraphs must
delve into specific arguments, each supported by evidence, and the conclusion should synthesize the
main points and reinforce the thesis.

Moreover, maintaining a consistent tone throughout the essay is crucial. Striking a balance between
formal and persuasive language helps to convey the argument convincingly. Careful attention to
grammar, punctuation, and coherence contributes to the overall professionalism of the writing.

In conclusion, writing an argumentative essay on the topic of school uniforms demands thorough
research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Successfully navigating through the
complexities of this issue requires a well-organized structure, a compelling thesis, and the ability to

Smart Reading Device Of The Future May Be Paper Analysis
The article Why The Smart Reading Device of The Future May be Paper by Brandon
Keim is about the difference between reading on paper or on a screen such as phones,
tablets or kindle etc and depending on the reading style how the reader s comprehension
is impacted. The author shares what researchers have found and focuses on the reader s
comprehension because when we read we want to understand. As a reader, I agreed with
the points the author made because different points were brought up and there is a lot to
read about and in the end, it depends on the person but overall different readingstyles
matter depending on what it is that you are reading and how long it is. In the article the
author uses a quote from a literacy professor at Norway s... Show more content on

Some researchers found that readers were able to learn better when reading from paper
while some it depended on if they were engaged readers. For some readers, it was more
difficult because their performance was impacted from scrolling which is something
that I can relate to. According to the study that was done by Wasteland Text flowing,
up and down a page also disrupts a reader s visual attention forcing eyes to the search
for a new starting point and refocus. When I am reading from a phone or tablet I
always have this issue after scrolling I lose the sentence that I was on and it takes
longer for me to read on a screen compared to paper. Taking time to refocus disrupts the
reading the text is blurred because you end up focusing more on refocusing than
continuing to read. This is one of the major reasons why I choose not to read on
screens because there are way too many distractions and I would rather save time and
read from paper. There are times when I prefer to read on screen because I like to be
sustainable and so some texts do need to be printed out depending on length and can
be read on screen but I also like to have physical paper, especially on books and
mangas. The author also brings up E readers may fail to capture a crucial, generally
overlooked aspect of paper books: their physicality. Personally, I enjoy reading when I
have the text physically in my hand and my understanding of the text is much better
on paper. Overall deep reading occurs for me when I read from paper and prefer it over a
screen. There are fewer distractions and not much effort put into it because all you have
to do is flip to the next page and not worry about
Childhood Summer Memories
Back in the day, when I remember of me being a child and it was one of the best
moment I could think of my childhood that happened in the summer, where good time
start it and not too far off that it sound it like that we played in the water and we
figured since it is a bit hot outside i was going to six flags and having some fun with our
family and friend having an enjoyable time. Few things I would say about my childhood
was also the summer time, when the sunwas hitting my body my mom used to worry
about me a lot so I would not get dark so she would tell me to put sunscreen on all the
time even on my face and in front of my friends but back when I was little I did not get
what or why she was saying that but now I get it on why. Sometime when I didn t wear
the slippers my feet would burn like I was walking in a fried pan but I were to just walk
in grass with my wet feet and then a few seconds later same thinghappens again so it
was not point of walking in the grass but I still walked. I closed my eyes one time
because my mom used to surprise me with friends coming over, going to swimming
and having a picnic and playing with the park dogs, it would be so much fun but we
had this curfew time to get back home and the only annoying thing was the bugs and
bees around us that were biting out skins off and making us scratch and the dirt we use
in or the mud that we use to make sand castles out of at the beach. I tried to look up and
see if I would be getting some shade anytime
Hedge Funds And Hedge Fund
Hedge Funds are actively managed instruments with flexible mandates that allow fund
managers to invest opportunistically in long and short positions across all asset classes.
This type of investment vehicle has existed for over half a century. The first hedge fund
was created by Alfred Winslow Jones in 1949.
His strategy, while simple, had never been used in the asset management world. His idea
was to buy stocks which seemed undervalued and short those which presented the worst
outlook. This strategy allowed him to protect himself against a fall in the equity markets.
He later started using leverage in order to improve his returns by taking additional risk.
Even though his hedge fund outperformed long only asset managers for many years, ...

ii) Equity Hedge Funds:

a) What are the different subcategories?

We are mostly interested by the classic equity hedge funds, also known as long short
funds, and more specifically we would like to know how they differ from long only
funds in terms of performance and risk.
As we have mentioned above, this is the oldest hedge fund investment style but it comes
in many different forms: quantitative or fundamental, broadly diversified or highly
concentrated, market neutral or directional. Furthermore, some strategies use more
leverage and focus on individual market sectors or factors.

In their paper, Hedge Funds with style , Brown and Goetzmann (2001) have described
the most popular strategies used by hedge funds and furthermore they have tried
explaining the impact of the different styles on performance. They looked at the
performance of each strategy, from 1989 to 2000, and learned that the choice of style
impacts returns circa 20 percent of the time. This would in turn have an effect on the risk
return trade off, stressing how crucial the fund s style and management are.
They have used statistical models (regressions and ANOVA tables) to analyze the
variability between the performances of seventeen fund strategies. The results revealed
that eight of those styles had high R² and adjusted R², meaning that changes in the style
explained most of
Examples Of Treasure In Treasure Island
Ever wondered why authors write books about treasure? Almost every adventurous
book have some sort of treasure in it. Treasure in a book represent a common goal, a
goal characters in the book want to achieve. The common goal then leads to conflicts
and the story builds on from there. In Treasure Island, Jim Hawkins sets on an adventure
to find the treasure. He faces tough competition but in the end does get his hands on the
treasure. However, the most important was not his physical treasure. The real treasure
Jim Hawkins obtained in Treasure Island is the knowledge and maturity from the
experience of the journey. In the beginning of the story, it is very clear that Jim is
frightened by the events that occurred and make readers doubt if he... Show more content

It was a life or death situation and Hands was also an experienced fighter.
Nevertheless, Jim killed Israel Hands by instinct. In the horrid pain and surprise of the
moment I scarce can say it was by my own volition, and I am sure it was without a
conscious aim both my pistols went off, and both escaped out of my hands. They did
not fall alone; with a choked cry, the coxswain loosed his grasp upon the shrouds and
plunged head first into the water. (Stevenson 307). Obviously, he was distressed and
was in shock by the fact that he actually killed Israel Hands, but quickly he regained his
calm. Gradually my mind came back again, my pulses quieted down to a more natural
time, and I was once more in possession of myself. (Stevenson 310). It takes incredible
effort to be able to calm down after killing a person at the age of twelve. Jim handled it
very well and proved that he was not the boy he once
