Squid and Shrimp Menudo

Background of the Study

Decabrachia and Caridea is one of the delicious seafoods in the counrty it’s because

decabrachia contain good source of protein and iron and calcium. Caridea contains antioxidants that are

good in our health. Squid is a part of the same family as oysters, scallop and octopus. Squid is often eaten

in deep fried like calamaris. However if the squid are grilled and steamed it is healthy because of low

saturated fat. Squid is cheap and it’s taste is enjoyed by many. Shrimp is one of the most consumed types of

shellfish. Shrimp provides nutrients such as iodine. Shrimp is low on calories yet rich in nutrients. Shrimp

can be cooked as, poached, fried, griiled, saute, stir fried, and sometimes it is used in soups , salads and

pasta. Shrimp has a anti-inflammatory , and anti-aging properties that are good in our health and it can help

reduced the risk of various health ailmets. Shrimp can also prevent hair loss because the minerals that are

present to the shrimp contribute to the health of our hair.

The researchers conducted this study to innovate the menudo. Since we all know that the main

ingredients of menudo is pork and sometimes we use chicken. The researchers want to try something new,

so the researchers change the main ingredients into shrimp and squid to make a new flavor and taste to the

people. Menudo is a tradional stew that are presemt in every occasions. The researchers proposed these

products for some people who want to taste new flavor of menudo.
