Instructions. 5 trends impacting Maternal and Child Health Nursing. Give your insights.

A. High Technology or Advancements in Technology

Technology made a great impact in today’s world, these advancements lead to provide
services, as well as access to healthcare services allowing us to communicate to
remote places leading to better coordination of care. Examples of these are: records
being kept in a computer, hospital setting up changes. These newer modes of
technology help to provide a better understanding and viewpoint for maternal and child
health care. Ex. Newer model of PT test to detect pregnancies, such as: bloom life

B. Sociocultural effects
The differences in maternal and child health outcomes depending on race, ethnicity,
socioeconomic level, and location are becoming more widely acknowledged. Healthcare
providers are putting more of an emphasis on correcting the differences and making
sure that everyone has access to high-quality care on an equal basis. There are
initiatives underway to improve access to healthcare services, lower obstacles to care,
and advance health education and awareness in underprivileged populations. Ex.
Remote areas may not have enough access to medication and there is a limited number
of benefits received.

C. Health Education for Precautions

The promotion of mothers' and children's health and wellbeing depends heavily on
proactive measures. Vaccinations, prenatal care, breastfeeding assistance, and early
childhood screenings are just a few examples of the preventive approaches that
maternal and child health nursing is increasingly emphasizing. By placing a strong
emphasis on preventative care, healthcare professionals may spot and manage any
health issues early on, improving both mothers' and kids' long-term outcomes. Ex.
Educating patients to newer modes and how they cope up with their childbearing
journey and good parenthood.

D. Evidence Based Practice

has emerged to prominence in nursing care for mothers and children. To inform
decision-making and enhance patient outcomes, EBP integrates the best available data,
clinical knowledge, and patient preferences. To deliver care that is based on the most
recent research and recommendations, nurses are urged to stay current. Nurses can
improve maternal and child health outcomes by integrating EBP into their practice and
ensuring that their interventions are founded on the most recent, reliable research. Ex.

There are medications available for women to lessen the effect of the pain experienced
during labor.

E. Collaborations
A collaborative strategy is used in maternal and child health nursing, necessitating
cooperation amongst diverse medical specialists. Collaboration between different
professions increases patient safety, care coordination, and health outcomes. To
provide complete and holistic care to women and children, nurses collaborate closely
with obstetricians, pediatricians, midwives, social workers, and other healthcare
professionals. Ex. Integration of dieticians for pregnant mothers to have health
education for the health and safety of their children, like what medicines to drink, foods
to consume, and etc.
