CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

In a world rife with conflicting notions of power and dominance, a distinct and transformative perspective
emerges from the heart of Christianity. This book, "True Dominance: A Journey to Spiritual Maturity"
delves into the profound principles of leadership and influence through the lens of Christian teachings.

This book draws it’s inspiration from Psalms 102: 25-28, and Psalms 103:13-14 Emphasizing Spiritual
Identity, Spiritual Formation, and Spiritual Dominance. Whereby Spiritual Identity explains an
individuals spiritual image in Jesus Christmas and how it relates to God and the world people live in.
Spiritual Formation explains the growth processes and formation of an individuals character to the
likeness of Jesus Christ. Spiritual Dominance explains the spiritual maturity or level of perfection of Jesus
Christ in a particular individual in every areas of their lives.

This book reveals the initial understanding of attaining true dominance. It defines and discloses the
essence of Identity as the first stage of stepping into a journey of spiritual development of an individual
Christian. Various teachings relating to recognizing one’s identity in Christ have been discussed by many
scholars. Such as acknowledging God as the first spiritual being, and understanding the power of an
identity, words and names. Identity is a spiritual phenomenon that examines the power and influence of
attitudes in an individual’s life. The concept of mindfulness and the significance of mindfulness in
Christian relationships are explained. The aspect of Christian consciousness was well explained as well as
making use of the God’s Tabernacle as an analogy.

The book explains wholesomely the spiritual growth and development of Christians in their journey to
attain Spiritual maturity. It explains how such individuals in Christ are formed and how they tend to grow
and develop in every areas of their lives thoroughly through certain platforms prepared by God. With
Biblical examples from Old Covenant characters- Samuel and Daniel and the New Covenant characters-
Jesus Christ it explains God’s work and formation in individuals.

Within these pages, we will explore the essence of true dominance as revealed by Jesus Christ, the central
figure in Christianity, who exemplified servant leadership, humility, ethical use of power, and sacrificial
love. Drawing wisdom from the Scriptures and the life of Christ, we will uncover the secrets of exercising
authority with grace, compassion, and integrity. The foundation of true dominance rests upon the timeless
truth that greatness is not found in seeking power over others but in selfless service to humanity. As Jesus

6
himself stated, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a
ransom for many" (Mark 10:45).

At the latter pages of the book, we will delve into the concept of servant leadership, where leaders
prioritize the well-being and growth of others, fostering environments of trust, collaboration, and shared
purpose. We will examine the role of humility, a virtue deeply intertwined with Christian teachings, and
how it transforms relationships and promotes reconciliation. Ethical use of power will also be explored,
guiding Christian leaders to wield their authority responsibly, advocating for justice, and standing against
oppression and discrimination. At the core of this perspective lies the transformative power of love and
sacrifice, as exemplified by Jesus' ultimate act of giving his life for the redemption of humanity. As we
embark on this journey of discovery, let us embrace the divine call to exercise true dominance,
recognizing that leadership is not a pursuit of personal gain or control but an opportunity to reflect the
love and compassion of Christ to the world. Through these profound teachings, we aim to equip Christian
leaders to inspire and empower those they serve, promoting a culture of genuine care, humility, and
ethical influence.

Self-Examination and Reflection: The book likely encourages readers to engage in self-examination and
reflection as part of their spiritual journey. This practice involves looking inward, assessing one’s values,
beliefs, and actions, and seeking alignment with the principles of servant leadership and humility.

The Role of Faith: As Christianity is fundamentally a faith-based religion, the book may emphasize the
role of faith in achieving true dominance. Faith in God, faith in one’s purpose, and faith in the
transformative power of love and service can be central to spiritual growth.

Community and Relationship Building: Christian teachings often stress the importance of community and
building meaningful relationships. True dominance, as presented in the book, may involve fostering
connections with others who share the same values and beliefs. This sense of community can be a source
of support and shared purpose.

Practical Application: The book likely provides practical guidance on how to translate these spiritual
principles into everyday life. It may offer real-life examples, case studies, and actionable steps for
individuals to practice servant leadership, humility, and ethical influence in their personal and
professional lives.

Impact on Society: The book may touch on the broader societal impact of individuals who embrace these
principles of true dominance. It explore how such individuals can contribute to positive change, social
justice, and the well-being of their communities.

7
Continual Learning and Growth: Spiritual maturity is often seen as a continuous process. The book
encourages readers to engage in lifelong learning, growth, and a deepening understanding of their faith
and identity.

Interfaith Dialogue: While the book is grounded in Christian teachings, it might also promote interfaith
dialogue and cooperation. The principles of servant leadership, humility, and love are not limited to one
religion and can be points of connection with people from diverse faith backgrounds.

True Dominance: A Journey to Spiritual Maturity” offers a comprehensive exploration of Christian

leadership principles with a focus on servant leadership, humility, ethical power, and the transformative
power of love and sacrifice. It equips readers with practical guidance for applying these principles in their
lives, encourages self-reflection and growth, and highlights the potential for positive societal impact
through true dominance as defined within a Christian context.

May this book serve as a guiding light for all who desire to lead with purpose, impact lives positively,
and, above all, to exemplify the true dominance found in following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

CHAPTER 2

DISCOVERING THE POWER OF IDENTITY

Genesis 1:1- "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth".

everyone has an identity; everything also has an identity. All creation is labelled one way or the other,

with their purpose of existence, which is their identity.

Identity is what situates beings; identity coordinates God's creation and balances all created things.

Without identity, there is no balance, there is no purpose, there is no path, there is no future, there is no

destiny, and there is no drive (motivation); there will be no beginning and there will be no end; there will

be no activity, and there will be no other things; therefore, many things will not be in existence if there is

no identity. For it is the identity that reveals the purpose and sources out purpose; identity allows freedom

concerning purpose to have meaning. Thus, identity is the realization of the goal and the creation of

destiny from the complete awareness and understanding of its existence.

It is simply the fact of being who or what a person or thing is, but that is just a definition to give an

understanding of what identity means; for identity, according to a layman's understanding, means "the

physical fact of being who and what a person or thing is". The physical realm of life is acknowledged

more, especially by man, than the mental and spiritual realms.

From this assertion, identity should not just be understood from what people say it is, even concerning

what they know by their physical experience and relationship. Still, it should be the complete

understanding, awareness, and recognition of the exact facts of any living or non-living thing's spiritual,

mental and physical realms. Some psychologists have also propounded that identity is the quality, beliefs,

personalities, looks, and expressions that make a person (self-identity) or group (a particular social

9
group). These psychologists further equate identity to the self-image of one's mental model, self-esteem,

and individuality.

Identity is a foundational concept that not only defines what something or someone is but also why it

exists and how it relates to the broader context of existence. It is deeply intertwined with the idea of

purpose, as identity provides the context and meaning for the role an entity plays in the world.

In the realm of personal identity, individuals often seek to understand who they are and their place in

society. This process of self-discovery is a lifelong journey, as one’s identity can be influenced and

reshaped by experiences, relationships, and personal growth. Understanding one’s identity is crucial for

personal development, self-acceptance, and building meaningful connections with others.

Moreover, the concept of identity extends to social and cultural contexts. People often identify with

particular social groups, communities, or cultures, which can shape their values, beliefs, and behaviors.

These group identities can be a source of unity and shared purpose, but they can also lead to division and

conflict when differences are emphasized over commonalities.

Identity also plays a significant role in psychology and sociology. The development of a strong self-

identity is seen as a key component of mental well-being, as it contributes to a sense of self-worth and

confidence. On a broader scale, understanding group identities and how they interact with one another is

essential for addressing social issues and promoting inclusivity and harmony in diverse societies.

Identity is not a mere label or superficial attribute; it is a profound and multi-dimensional concept that

encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of both individuals and the world around us. It shapes

our understanding of purpose, guides our actions, and influences our relationships and interactions with

others. It is a fundamental aspect of the human experience and the broader fabric of existence.

The Spiritual Foundation of Identity: Embracing Our True Dominance

10
Genesis 1:1- "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth".

Many people limit their understanding of identity to only mental and physical aspects or the presence of

oneself, not knowing that the actual background of identity is from spiritual existence. The spiritual realm

must be identified first, even before the mental and physical realm, but in our contemporary world, it is

mainly the material and the mental, then the spiritual. According to the scriptures, Genesis 1:1 says that

"in the beginning, God created the heaven and earth". If paraphrased, it will be "God created the heaven

first (spiritual beings) and then the earth (physical beings) in the beginning; according to John 4:24, he

says that "God is a spirit and they that worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and truth.

God is the creator of heaven and earth at the beginning of existence from the scriptures, implying that

identity was first established, realized, and explained in God and by God. So God identified Himself as

the creator of heaven and earth; even before men started to exist, God was the first identity. The first

identity (God) says He is a spirit, according to John 4:24. He also tells us that we should recognise our

identity as spirit first to worship, acknowledge, and love Him in spirit and truth.

Genesis 1:26- "And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have

dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and the cattle, and all the earth, and over

every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth". In respect to this scripture, it says, "God said let us

(the Trinity) make man in our image", that is in God's resemblance of identity. God is a spirit, not flesh,

meaning man was created first as a spirit being. Later formed as an earth-being (creature), even according

to the scripture in Genesis 2:7- “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed

into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” A significant distinction exists between

creation and formation, that is, between the acts of creating and forming. This distinction lies in the

availability of existence. Creation involves bringing forth something entirely new, even from nothingness,

while formation entails the gathering and assembling of existing elements to generate something new.

Unsurprisingly, the esteemed apostle Paul spoke about the inner man, representing a person's spiritual

identity.

11
Therefore, if God is the first identity with an identity, the relationship between God and man must be

spiritual. Everyone needs to understand that God is identifying everyone he has created, individually as a

spirit-being first, for Genesis 1:26 explains to us that God created man in His image and likeness

(resemblance); that is, we are also bearing the same image of God as a spirit-being, as a spiritual identity.

This fact should be realized, especially at a certain supposed matured stage. In that case, an individual

that has not realized this truth might not be existing; He is either living without purpose or dead. Maybe

by mercy and grace, God can touch and revive His soul through a divine encounter. According to my

understanding, man's existence is defined as anyone who acknowledges God and his God-given purpose

in his life; this is the same with every created thing. Actual death is spiritual, and some are unaware of

this, even in this modern age. Many are ignorant that one can be walking, speaking well, living, and even

physically healthy, but the candle in him has been put off.

Proverbs 20:27 (KJV)- "The Spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the

belly".

It is evident from this verse of the scripture that man is first identified as a spirit. It is that spirit God

works with, converses, communicates and associate and share his Love with. With all things being equal,

a spiritual person can access God and His hidden riches unknown to man, which God has made available

for His children who love Him. Apostle Paul, a lover of God, was not ignorant of this revelation but

received it and wrote Romans 7:22- "he delights in God's law after the inward man".

Paul realized that it is by being spiritual that he can do the will of God more effectively, even with the

challenges that come his way. We are meant to identify ourselves as a spirit-being first so that God can

awaken our potential to fulfil our purpose. Many people are ignorant of this, so they become sleeping

talents and low force or influence from one's drive. Many traditions and religious perspectives might have

diverse thoughts on issues pertaining to individuals spiritual identity; but all accepts that there is a

spiritual existence beyond physical experience.

12
The concept of spiritual identity from general world perspective and its role in our existence and purpose

is a profound and multifaceted one. Let’s explore it further:

1. Spiritual Identity and Purpose: Recognizing one’s spiritual identity can be the key to

understanding one’s purpose in life. Many spiritual and religious traditions emphasize that our

ultimate purpose is to seek a deeper connection with the divine and to fulfill our unique spiritual

mission. This mission is often aligned with values, virtues, and principles that reflect our spiritual

identity.

2. Self-Realization: Understanding our spiritual identity requires a process of self-realization. This

involves introspection, meditation, prayer, or other practices that help individuals delve into their

inner selves to discover their true nature. Self-realization leads to greater self-awareness and

clarity about one’s life’s purpose and direction.

3. Connection with God: Acknowledging our spiritual identity involves recognizing our connection

with a higher power, the divine, or God. This connection can provide a sense of guidance,

support, and love, which is essential for leading a purposeful and fulfilling life.

4. Living in Alignment: When individuals are in harmony with their spiritual identity, they tend to

live in alignment with their values and beliefs. This alignment not only brings inner peace but

also allows them to make choices that are in line with their higher purpose.

5. Serving Others: Many spiritual traditions emphasize the importance of service and compassion.

Understanding one’s spiritual identity often leads to a desire to serve others and contribute

positively to the world, which is a common manifestation of one’s life purpose.

6. Awakening Potential: Recognizing one’s spiritual identity can awaken latent potentials and

talents. It can be a source of inspiration, creativity, and a deep sense of empowerment to achieve

one’s goals and contribute to the greater good.

13
7. Transcending Materialism: In a world that often places a heavy emphasis on materialism and

external success, embracing one’s spiritual identity can provide a sense of fulfillment that goes

beyond material pursuits. It can bring contentment, even in the face of life’s challenges.

8. Evolving Identity: It’s important to note that one’s spiritual identity can evolve and deepen over

time. Personal growth, experiences, and ongoing self-reflection can lead to a more profound

understanding of one’s spiritual nature and purpose.

Therefore, recognizing and embracing one’s spiritual identity is a transformative journey that can lead to

a more purposeful and meaningful life. It’s a concept that transcends religious and cultural boundaries

and offers a profound framework for understanding our place in the universe and our role in the grand

tapestry of existence.

The Divergent Paths: Embracing Perfection or Succumbing to Corruption

Psalm 102:25-28- "Of old hast, thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy

hands".

"They shall perish, but thou shalt endure, yea, all of them shall wax old as a garment, as a vesture shalt

thou change them, and God shall change them".

"But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. The children of thy servants shall continue, and

for Thou shall establish their seed before thee".

Change has a strong relationship with identity. The primary factor that creates and influences this

relationship is time (according to the limited knowledge of those that say that there is no God). Therefore,

there is no relationship between change and identity without time.

14
God created every living thing with this change-identity relationship, one way or another, even with their

physical realm, mental realm, and spiritual realm. Since change can not affect or influence God but His

creation, therefore everything by God can be affected by change. Identity is a responsiveness to change;

identity is an occurrence of a change with time; identity is the expression of difference. For example,

when someone looks at another individual he knows after a very long time (maybe 50 years), that

individual might say that he looks older than when he met him over 50 years ago, which is an expression

of change. From the illustration, 'looking older' denotes the identity of the person's physical appearance.

That was just an example of a physical relationship between change and identity. The physical change-

identity relationship is more acknowledged and conversable than mental and spiritual relationships of

change-identity concept on earth, even amongst human beings. The physical change-identity relationship

is more acknowledged by man because the change-identity relationship is easily and naturally sensed as

an earthly and physical effect. Generally, every person in their natural state on earth is conscious of the

physical change-identity relationship. When a person gets older, more weighty in size, more beautiful in

appearance, thinner, taller, more handsome, good looking, more presentable in his dressing, fresher, and

so forth; as this continues over time, it is an effect of physical change-identity relationship. These

physical change-identity effects may bring about a corresponding reaction to people's attitudes, events,

and circumstances. In reality, today's situational events and happenings can never repeat themselves

entirely and the same way tomorrow, which means there must always be a change; this brings us back to

the scripture- Psalm 102:25 and 26: "Of old have thou laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens

are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea all of them shalt wax old like a

garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and God shall change them".

From the scriptures of the previous paragraph, Psalm 102:25 made us understand the beginning of the

creation of heaven and earth, enlightening us that God knows what He created, how he created them, and

why he created them. For it to have a foundation, a superstructure will arise, even by the will of God. One

15
must follow a foundation with something built thereupon as a change-identity relationship of growth and

development that relates with the three realms (spiritual, mental, physical).

Furthermore, The scripture of Psalm 102:25- does not only say, "Of old hast, thou laid the foundation of

the earth". Psalm 102:26- says, "They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea all of them shall wax old

like a garment, as a vesture shalt thou change them, and God shall change them". Following this

particular verse of the scripture explains expressly: that everything on earth, as they proceed with time,

will have an end, and shall all perish, and shall all grow old, get corrupt (die), and finally vanish away

with the wind, and the reason for this effect on the world and everything with it will perish is explained;

for that same verse of the scripture, Psalm102:26 says "as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall

be changed". It implies that God has made it that way for His glory.

However, this implies that the change-identity relationship effect is a constant phenomenon that occurs

every time, every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every moment; it gets more accurate when

the scripture says, "as a vesture SHALT THOU change them". God is, therefore, in the business of

changing things and creating new identities. God is always working and has never slumbered, time might

be one of the factors of the change-identity effect, but God is the factor Himself because He controls

every activity that exists, which He made to live and changes their existence as He pleases, Psalm 102:26

stated ", and they shall be changed" meaning there is no option of anyone's opinion, of how and why this

or that should be. The scripture does not say ", and they MIGHT be changed", giving room for views and

choices; instead, it expressly states, "and they SHALL be changed". Neither is there any record of

whether this should be or not; only what pleases God matters, and nothing else as recorded in Romans

9:16- "so it is not of him that willeth or of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy". There is

only one that cannot be changed and can never be changed by any other, and He alone is God, as the

scripture rightly said in Psalm 102:26- "But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end". God was

the same yesterday, the same today, and the same forever; there is no end to His existence.

16
Moreover, confirmative from the scriptures change-identity relationship affects every being and reality

except God. God is the only one that change cannot influence. For God has a perfect eternal identity that

can never change or be changed by anyone. With time, the change-identity relationship can also be

explained in this term "God is the same perfect identity, while everything created changes, even with

time". This can also be seen as a rule that guides all things concerning the change-identity relationship.

God is the exact perfect identity in this rule, while everything created changes even with time". This

depicts two groups, and they are:

1 Beings heading towards perfection; and

2 Beings heading towards imperfection (corruption)

Beings Heading Towards Perfection: Concerning this group of beings heading towards perfection from

the guiding principle rule: "God is the same perfect identity, while everything created changes, even with

time". This principle guides this group, for they are the group of people that wants to partake in God's

divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4- "whereby are given unto us, exceeding great and precious promises, that by

these, you will be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in this world,

through lust". And for any person to be a partaker of God's divine nature, they must have escaped the

corruption that is in the world, just as 2 Peter 1:4 rightly says, "That by these, ye might be the partakers of

the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust". Then the question is

how can anyone created through the changing effect escape corruption (corruption to the soul, not only

corruption to the flesh according to Matthew 10:28-“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not

able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”; and Ezekiel

18:4-“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that

sinneth, it shall die”) of everything created.

However, the answer to this question can be found in the son of God, Jesus Christ; for the scriptures,

according to John 3:16, says, "for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that

17
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life". The only way God provided for

everyone He created to escape corruption is by believing in His son, even by going through the process of

rebirth, as John 3:3 stated, "verily, verily, I said unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the

kingdom of God". One has to be born again after accepting the son of God into his life, and he must be

born of water and the Spirit.

One that is born again is now a brother or sister to Jesus Christ, as it is written in Romans 8:16-17, "the

spirit beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.; and if children, then heirs of God,

and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together". The

emphasis on the Holy Spirit makes it clear 'that it is God's identity; if the Spirit of God is not in you, you

can never be a partaker of His nature, not even His precious promises. You need to be identified by the

Spirit of God to escape the penalty of sin, that results to death eventually due to corruption (condemnable

changes that lead to death). The Spirit of God should work in you towards His perfect nature. As you

partake in His nature, you will gradually and periodically receive His precious promises, only by faith and

patience, as written in Hebrews 6:12-“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith

and patience inherit the promise.”

The work of the Holy Spirit in your life is like the work of a goldsmith, working to refine the gold in your

life to shine forth so that you can come out as pure gold. The Holy Spirit refines a convert’s life to

become like Jesus Christ which is the perfect, complete nature of God. By this process of spiritual

transformation by the Holy Spirit one escapes corruption of this world. Becoming like Jesus Christ should

therefore be everyones goal. Some people are mudded gold that is yet to shine or unable to shine because

they don't want to go through the fire, to be refined and get those hard lumps removed; instead, they allow

their destiny to be buried with the mud, "I will say it is a pity for one to allow the exchange of his soul,

for a mud" (Matthew 16:26-“ For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his

own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”). Allow the power of the Holy Spirit to be

at work and he will mark you as a son of God as encouraged in John 1:12-“But as many as received him,

18
to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”, Romans

1:4-“And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the

resurrection from the dead”, Acts 1:8-“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon

you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the

uttermost part of the earth”. allow the power of the Holy Spirit to wake you from slumber, allow his

ability to direct you, to comfort, lead, manage and control you; and finally, allow his power to resurrect

you to the perfect nature of God. Perfection, in other words, means a glorified state that cannot be altered

by negative change anymore. We must understand that with time as a factor only purposeful, positive

changes can lead one to perfection and not all kinds of changes. Therefore, concerning this view, positive

changes implies the series of changes that search for a perfect state that needs no effects of change

anymore. Positive changes in this respect does not assume successes alone but might incur certain

disappointments and failures before the individual that is progressing.

Then this group of individuals seeking Jesus Christ are guided by this rule: "God is the same perfect

identity, while everything created changes, even with time", and they are more partly joined by "God is

the same perfect identity, even with time" than "everything created changes, even with time". This rule

guides this group because God is identified with them; that is, "God is the same perfect identity" is placed

in them. This group, therefore, changes more positively to be a perfect identity following God's nature.

Psalm 102:28 says, "The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before

thee", which elaborately confirms the change-identity relationship rule guiding those heading towards

perfection. If paraphrased, Psalm 102:28 says, "The children of God's servant will continue, and their

seed shall be established before God", which is also in connection with what the scripture says in Psalm

102:26- "but thou shalt endure". This means that God shall live eternally in respect to Psalm 102:26 and

28; this is so because these children decided to partake in God's nature, thereby bearing God's spiritual

identity. Be mindful that no one can become perfect on earth until Jesus Christ returns. Still with this

19
understanding of seeking Jesus Christ, this truths should make one resist sin and have a consistent

relationship with Jesus Christ unto eternal life despite their imperfections.

Beings Heading Towards Corruption: The beings heading towards corruption are the other groups,

guided by the same principle rule of change-identity relationship, "God is the same perfect identity, while

everything created changes, even overtime", but this group is guided differently from the first group, by

leading the people involved into corruption, since their ways and thoughts and deeds are of the flesh and

nature of the world. This group is heading towards corruption because they tend to depend on their ways

of the flesh and allow man's thoughts and the world's glory to rule their lives.

The scripture says in Isaiah 40:6-8, "The voice said, cry. And what shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all

the goodness is as the field's flower. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the word of God shall

stand forever". When man focuses on earthly pleasure, these pleasures are like flowers about to bud and

become fully grown, which will surely perish and fade away. The word of God has also confirmed it in

James 1:10-11-“But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof

falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.” and

1 Peter 1:24-“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth,

and the flower thereof falleth away”. On this earth, everyone possesses this earthly given nature when he

is born in the world. Still, only those who decide to receive the nature of the true God are the only ones

that are saved from this dying world, just as the scripture rightly says in Isaiah 40:8- "the grass withereth,

the flower fadeth, but the word of our God shall stand forever". Yes, everyone on earth, every being,

every person (grass) on earth perishes (withereth); and even the goodliness and pleasures (flower) fade

away, but only those with God's word shall stand forever.

Amazingly, the word of God is so powerful by the Holy Spirit, which makes the world finally perish and

allows it to vanish away at its appointed time, as it is confirmed in the scripture of Isaiah 40:7," the grass

withereth, the flower fadeth: because the Spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is

20
grass" .as rightly said the people and the pleasures of the world would be blown away, out of existence,

because it is the Holy Spirit with His power that blows them away. This means one of the Holy Spirit's

duties is the blowing-away-activity; when the time appointed has come up, the world and its lust and

everyone that is of the world will perish and be blown away by the workings of the Holy Spirit. I will say

this to my brothers and sisters: receive the Holy Spirit before the time appointed of the blowing-away-

activity of the Holy Spirit. Just as my mother used to separate beans from their chaff, thereby blowing

away the trash and the things that were not needed. So, the Spirit of God does a greater work of blowing

away out of the sieve pan those who do not accept and receive God's word in their lives by the power and

presence of the Holy Spirit.

However, This message is to those seeking repentance and those willing to partake in God's divine nature.

My brethren, don't allow this world's pleasures to pull you away from the divine nature that the Holy

Spirit is perfecting in your life. That mammon you cherish so much in your heart, despise it, as according

to Luke 16:13-15-“ No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other;

or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your

hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Therefore, those mansions, cars, elegant dresses, shoes, worldly fun parties, earthly glory and pleasures

that steal God's Love in your life; and those bad habits like gossips, filthy movies, pornography, drug

abuse, prostitution, womanizing, gluttony, stealing, robbery, hatred, fornication, jealousy, pride,

hypocrisy, pretence, malice, covetousness, selfishness, dishonesty, false accusation, disobedience,

wickedness, idolatry, adultery, idle-talking, scorning, babbling, esteeming men and their opinions more

21
than God, and every other form of wickedness; do well to DETACH AND GET YOURSELF AWAY

FROM ALL THESE!!! Detaching yourself away from earthly desires and possessions is imperative to

have a sincere relationship with God.

Moreover, be mindful that detaching yourself from earthly possessions differs from throwing them away

or purposely getting them lost. By detaching yourself from all your earthly possessions, you are releasing

and setting yourself free from the bondage of your earthly possessions weighing your spiritual life down.

Though you still have it under your dominion; be careful not to allow them to rule over you. This

indicates whether your first Love is Jesus Christ or earthly desires; you might lose your uninsured car in a

motor accident, your house was robbed, or your phone was stolen, and none of these got you worried or

depressed. You are detached from your earthly possessions and desires, which can only be possible by the

Holy Spirit's power. Whatever you have should be a privileged support to your relationship with God.

Every identity and possession, apart from God's will or away from God's will, are distractions; even your

physical identity can also distract your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Therefore, it is left for you to know the distractions to adjust and the ones to remove away entirely from

your life, so that you can live a fulfilling life, and fulfil your divine destiny. That is right; there are some

matters and things that are distractions that you need to adjust by the leading of the Holy Spirit; some of

them can be any of your work, ministry, leisure, food, family, spouse, siblings, children, relatives, friends,

and even yourself. I understand that they might not be a nuisance to your relationship with Jesus Christ,

some can be supportive, as we mentioned; also some of these might be your concerns, which is a good

thing. If they do take some part of your time, and focus, one way or the other, then these important

matters can become distractions if they are not adjusted, they can take your attention to an extreme level

away from your Love with Jesus Christ. Truly, all these distractions need to be adjusted, and they can be

adjusted to the glory of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The good news is that when the Holy Spirit, by His power, adjusts your relationship with everyone close

to you by making you have Jesus as your first love, you will begin to love everyone better. If you are not

22
careful to allow the Holy Spirit to work in you so as to adjust these distractions; but instead allow your

time, attention, and resources to be driven without control, you will crash, miss out, and lose focus. For

instance, your best friend and your wonderful dad are forcing you to become a lawyer, other than your

passion in becoming a musician, as the Holy Spirit reveals and supports your same passion; if you do not

allow the Holy Spirit to adjust these distractions of your friends and your dad's voices to become a

lawyer, you might miss out the best God has for you, to fulfil your destiny as a musician to the glory of

God.

On the other hand, I termed some distractions: "glittering stones" because they are not precious; they only

glitter so that you can come closer to them, pick them, and finally observe that they are not precious

stones but ordinary stones. I will say that they are a waste of one's resources, efforts, and time. For these

glittering stones to lure a person away from the track of his destiny, even though it might be for a short

period, signifies that they are a waste of time; they can crush and destroy an individual's entire focus.

Some are more enticing to the flesh (like the examples given earlier) and detrimental to your destiny;

these distractions should be removed far from you. Examples are worldly music, pornography, drug

abuse, etc. distractions of this kind eventually become addictions, a purposive sin unto death.

Some of these distractions are not just meant to be only removed, but you have to take them to a strict

level by killing them. The great apostle Paul made us understand that there are different categories of

offences or sins to be dealt with while on earth; from the scriptures, Colossians 3:5- "mortify therefore

your members which are upon the earth, fornication, uncleanliness, inordinate affection, evil

concupiscence and covetousness, which is idolatry".

He referred to these sins as members of the flesh on earth; implying that these members are around us as

long as we are still living on earth, and we were made of the dust of the world; following Genesis

2:7-“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath

of life; and man became a living soul.” Though man was clothed with flesh, from the beginning man does

not know the flesh (what draws him away from God) as we can see in Genesis 2:25-“And they were both

23
naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”; for God purposed man to acknowledge his maker,

thereby recognising the Spirit of God and not the flesh. Adam and Eve were not ashamed because the

spiritual dependency was pulling more than the fleshy desires. It was as if there was no gravity, but

immediately they disobeyed and ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They began to

acknowledge the flesh more than their maker; the pull of the flesh became more demanding and stronger

to them than the spiritual presence of God, as narrated from the scripture: Genesis 2:16-17-“ And the

LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the

tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou

shalt surely die. Genesis 3:1-7-“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the

LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of

the garden? 2. And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3.

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither

shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5. For God

doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing

good and evil. 6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the

eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also

unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that

they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” Adam and Eve were

ashamed of their nakedness, for it was when they ate that apple there came about a switchover and a

resultant change. Their nakedness was known to them, and at the same time, their spiritual identity was

less or not regarded at all by them, and that is why they became ignorant enough to think they could hide

away from God and say we are physically naked when they were spiritually naked.

The nature of Adam is inherent in every living person on earth because we all are all made of the same

flesh, which is answerable to the things the flesh acknowledges, as Paul mentioned. "they are members of

us on earth", and the word of God says that these members are to be mortified (killed) on earth. We must

24
kill the desires to be immoral, engaging in inordinate affections, fornication, uncleanliness, evil desire,

and covetousness. And the word of God also mentioned others that should be put off: anger, wrath,

malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of our mouth, according to Colossians 3:8-“But now ye

also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.” One

will say that one needs to avoid distractions that will lead to these, as mentioned in the scriptures

(Colossians 3:5 and 8-“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication,

uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. But now ye

also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.”). Such

distractions like bad friends, gossip, worldly music, filthy songs, meaningless parties or clubs, and many

others will lead a man to sin unto death. These distractions are to be removed from an individual's focus

so that they can achieve a purposeful, fulfilling life.

The world itself is heading towards corruption, and everyone that is a friend of the world or loves the

vanities of the world will indeed perish away with the world, for all these are despised by God, even

according to James 4:4, as the scripture says: "ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the

friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever, therefore, will be a friend of the world is the

enemy to God"; also, about 1 John 2:15-"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, he

that does this, the Love of the father is not in him.

Therefore, this group, according to these scriptural references given, is guided by the rule: "God is the

same perfect identity, while everything created changes, even with time"; and they are less partly joined

by "God is the same perfect identity, even with time" than "everything created changes, even with time".

They are directly under the pressure that “everything created changes, even with time” because they are

earth-focus and walking in corruption.

The Power of Words: Shaping Spiritual and Physical Identity

25
Everyone has the image of God as an identity. Still, the significant difference between an identity and a

name is that identity unveils a detailed picture or photo of a recorded film. In contrast, a name plays a

recorded film from start to finish. In other words, an identity only reveals the source and supposed

destination of an existing being or an object at any stage. Still, a name plays and interprets the activities,

circumstances, and actions of a current being or an object from the beginning to the end of it. For

example, there are two grown men (identity), and their names are Love and Faith (names); they were

friends from childhood (identities of little children), their parents named them Love and Faith (same

names), and they wanted to become businessmen (identity) so that they can secure a better future. They

later became older men (new identity) with children after 45 years.

All identities should always include names; having a name is imperative to make identity meaningful,

which hopefully plays the story of an identified individual of God. The difference between name and

identity can still be explained; for instance, given a room and everything in that room, Ebuka has a

bedroom, and when he enters his room, he finds a chair, a bed, a television set, a cupboard, a ceiling fan,

etc. (all these in a bedroom), the name of the room is Ebuka's bedroom, and the most crucial furniture or

good in that particular room is what? Of course, it is the bed, not the television set; even though it might

be the most expensive possession with the utmost pleasure for Ebuka, the bed is still essential in that

particular room. Therefore, the first thing anybody should identify in that room is the bed, which means

the actual identity of that room is the bed, and the name of that room is Ebuka's bedroom. The name

bedroom comprises everything that can be found in that room with the bed, while the identity of that

room is the bed. Circumstantially, not all bedrooms are bedrooms, for if an individual with a bed in his

bedroom from the start, and then later sold it out, to buy a washing machine which he puts in place of the

bed, thereby having only a dishwasher in that room, without mattress, mat, pillow, or whatever thing to

sleep on. Therefore, it is explainable to refer to the room as a dishwasher room, it is no more a bedroom,

and the object of identity in that room is the washing machine.

26
Concerning an individual's physical identity, the person's appearance or physical features can change over

time while their name remains the same, as explained earlier. In some cases, if the individual wants to

change his name, he can change it based on his motives or intentions; the person can change and decide

their name as time fits their interest.

Names given to a child or anyone else are not just written letters we pronounce to gladden the heart of

hearers or to excite the bearers of the name due to how it sounds and fits the lips, not at all. It is more than

that, and we should be careful about how we bear and give names and be very careful about how we treat

them. A name is an organized spiritual bearing of a person or thing written with a hopeful purpose and

destination established by the intentions of its source. Yes, it has a more spiritual meaning, and more than

just bearing an outstanding, thoughtful name; that sounds good. It contains living facts of an individual's

life and destiny, played from the onset the name is given. It has a significant role in the individual's life

course until the name ceases to operate. It can end up performing when the person stops bearing such a

name or changes the name for another, and there might be other ways. From this explanation, you can

understand the severity of accepting and giving names carelessly and unthoughtfully and how influential

it can be to effectually change or alter one's destiny. It plays a vital role in an individual's destiny. It can

also influence your spiritual and physical identity if not checked.

Even when someone calls you other names apart from your original name, if he calls by other names

jokingly, they affect you with time if you keep responding to these "other names". Your response to these

names people call you every time matters a lot. It indicates that you acknowledge the name as yours in

spirit. For instance, if you are called a bookworm, maybe because you are always found reading and

studying books, your response to that name, the bookworm you are being called, matters. If you like the

name, you might respond positively to the person that called you by that name, thereby acknowledging

that the name is good for me. Sometimes your words might recognize the names someone calls you, and

occasionally, your body gesture might send a reply. The harmful and foolish part of this issue is that

people do insult their neighbours with the wrong names; many do this ignorantly, some to hurt another;

27
these are primarily scorners and scoffers that are rudely ignorant of spiritual truths, and funny enough,

they have a well-prepared excuse for their flimsy attitude and behaviour; they usually say we are just

joking and having fun.

No matter how you put it, words are seeds that are produced by the tongue, which can never return the

same way, words are the actual seeds, though spiritual, even more powerful than money, and there is

always a spirit backing every word spoken; if you are a child of God your words are meant to be

supported by the Holy Spirit, and should not be used carelessly to hurt another person, words are spiritual

darts that serves as a weapon, it is a spiritual weapon that can either grant breakthrough or demote an

individual, it can be used as a weapon to shut doors that are opened for divine blessings, it can be used as

a weapon to alter your destiny in life, it can be used as a weapon to release a generational curse.

Moreover, most of us have made mistakes, all because we are having fun giving the wrong names to our

supposed neighbours and friends, like a pumpkin head, spoon mouth, London bridge nose, banana leaf

ear, etc.; with these examples, I can agree with you to the extent that these are not so serious, and with the

same proper excuse of scorners, we are just joking like friends. The truth is that the person you call by

that name jokingly every day might be your friend, but banana leaf ear is not his name; he too might agree

and take it as a joke, even laugh over it, but his subconscious even as time goes by, agrees not with that

wrong name. I am not saying we should not have a good sense of humour; humour is good, and that is

what encourages many even to be enlightened better sometimes and to be in peace and harmony with

others, but when humour is abused by jesting and perpetually insensitively hurting another with flimsy

jokes and calling of wrong names. It would be better and good of that person to tame and bridle his

tongue with the wisdom from God. We should be careful not to use wrong names with the motive to hurt

people; therefore, mind how you use your tongue to speak.

Some people do not know the effects about hate speech, insults, abusive words, idle chatter, and

blasphemy. All these factors also affect an individual's "Spiritual Mutual Defining Effect of Words" and

"Spiritual Words Recommendable Effect Gauge". Your words as a human being have a price; for every

28
term used, there is a price to pay; for every idle chatter, there is a price to pay dearly; oh yes, words have

value and respect in the spiritual realm, I will say be ready to pay a consequential price when you trigger

a young lady's emotion, just because you were callous with a simple sentence: “I love you”. One might be

young and foolish, in saying, 'I only want to pull some strings', without knowing that he has aroused the

emotion of that innocent lady, that has been patiently waiting faithfully for her right husband. The same

scorner or scoffer that does not want to learn, might still have a backup excuse, saying, "But I never had

any sexual or romantic affair with her", but such an individual stupidly made use of a very expensive

word, to a young girl ready for marriage, of course, you might have played with her emotions, if she is

not spiritually matured, her affections might have been shifted to you, even for a while, she might have

spent a night without sleeping, allowing her thoughts give a clear picture of that particular person while

pondering into that statement he made carelessly: "I love you", and then she later finds out that he never

meant what he said, but he is only pulling strings (as most scorners usually term it, even trying to be

funny).

While she has maybe lost her way and focus, and there is a righteous God upstairs watching all these

happening, do you think that guy will go scot-free, especially if that lady was born again, a dear daughter

of God. Indeed there will be dire consequences for such errors (Psalm18:26-“With the pure thou wilt

shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.”), sometimes even without the

individual knowing what brought about such recompense. Therefore, brethren, whatever you say has a

spiritual implication; hey, listen and read well please: 'WHATEVER YOU SAY, HAS A SPIRITUAL

IMPLICATION', whether it is good or bad words. Every speech will bring a responsive spiritual result

that will manifest sooner or later physically.

The Spiritual Mutual Defining Effect of Words (SMDEW) is whatever we say to anything or anyone that

will bring about a resultant effect to both the receiver and bearer of such words spoken, depending on the

kind of Spirit with which the words were spoken; it might sometimes result to unfortunate effect in the

spiritual realm, which physically will eventually manifest if it were wrong words spoken with evil

29
motives, and if they were right words with good intentions, it would go through a process yielding good

results and fruits of righteousness. And the spirit that tends to operate in that person while they are

speaking matters because the spirit exerts the force of those words, with their level of operation when the

implication of those words is activated in the realm of the Spirit. The spirit of anger, if allowed by an

individual, when operating and manifesting from that person speaking angrily, exerts harmful spiritual

mutual effect both to the person he is talking to and himself. It also depends on whether the person being

told have a defence. By defence, I meant spiritual protection; there is no other spiritual defence better than

the defence of the Holy Spirit, which is in Christ Jesus. There is no severe effect of words that can harm

that person with the Holy Spirit residing in his heart.

There is also the Spiritual Words Recommendable Effect Gauge (SWREG), for there is a spiritual gauge

when anyone speaks; the meter absorbs and measures good and bad words. This gauge determines your

value based on correct intentional terms compared to measuring your spoken words (evil or sound) in the

realm of the Spirit. God cannot give you the power of spiritual declaration if you have been gauged

mainly with intentional wrong words over right words, even though you claim to be anointed. Your

tongue matters to God so much to give you a powerful gift and ministry to declare the mind of God.

Therefore, try to tame your tongue by the power of the Holy Spirit to speak with gracious words out of

your lips. The only exception and solution for one that has been fully gauged with filthy and wrong words

and thoughts is repentance and sanctification in Jesus Christ.

Your spoken words are all measured, and the measure affects you; for instance, when you pray to God

immediately after insulting your neighbour with that same mouth, our gracious God might likely not

answer your prayer. We must all learn that our spoken words are imperative for a genuine relationship

with God. God does check each person's life history, especially to measure his attitude and the way he

speaks and handles his tongue before He can think of recommending the person for a ministry. If God

loves you, he must first deal with you in those areas of your life, that concerns your attitude and the way

you use your tongue, then He offers you a gracious ministry.

30
An individual insulting everyone at home in his mother’s tongue, and coming early to church speaking in

other tongues while worshipping God, expresses exceptional deceit from the devil. One might think that

the Holy Spirit is operating graciously in that vessel. In the scriptures, James talked about how dangerous

and untamable the tongue can be and the consequences . the Holy Spirit is the only person who can tame

the tongue. The effect of the Holy Spirit on you is not speaking in tongues, though it might later result in

that. The first effect is to restrain the use of your language and use it to the glory of God, and it is only by

the leading of the Holy Spirit. That is why the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles as a tongue of fire upon

their heads, spiritually signifying that He has come as a fire, a restraining force to tame, control, and

bridle their tongue to honour God, to manage the way they have to speak, and eventually to use their body

to the glory of God; that's why, as they were speaking in an unknown tongue, it was the Holy Spirit

speaking to God mainly.

Therefore, We should be careful with how we use words and names which influence our spiritual and

physical identity.

The Power of Attitude: The Transformative Power of Godly Attitude and the Destructive

Consequences of Ungodly Attitude

Attitude and identity have a strong relationship. People give a clear identity of you, even based on your

perspective. Someone might not know your name but have watched how you behaved yourself and can

one day tend to give a good identity about you to another person, based on the character which you

portrayed before him. Sometimes the perfect name you bear might not be constrained by the name you

were given during the day you were born by your parents but the way you lived a transformed life of a

better person. The Bible recorded that a mother gave his son a name-Jabez (pain, sorrow) a bad name, but

his attitude allowed God to change him to bear a good name, for the Bible says he was more honourable

than his brethren, and God answered his prayer and blessed him.

31
Another example is the name Judas (He shall be praised). "WOW!" What a wonderful and beautiful word,

but we know the story of Judas in the bible and how he became a thief that betrayed Jesus Christ and

committed suicide; he hung himself to a tree for his guilt, bearing a lousy name by conforming to an

attitude of the desires of the world, even though he was given a good name from his birth. Oh boy, you

would want to agree that this guy is supposed to end well, come on, read that again: "JUDAS-HE SHALL

BE PRAISED", but because of his attitude, he has stained this beautiful name, for many people are even

scared to give and would not provide the name "Judas" to any of their children. A Name comes as a spirit

to anyone it is given, influencing and leading him to specific behaviour and character representing that

name. But since that individual is in this world full of other conforming spirits, which can conform him to

the dictates of this world, he, therefore, has a choice to make whether to give in to the conforming force

of this world or to be free from it, by allowing God to transform him with His word. In a world that

people can choose to yield to or allow themselves to produce, will always results in a battle of "attitudinal

change".

Attitudinal Change:

This attitudinal change situation leads to an attitude change based on the conformation or transformation

of that individual. Generally, this world has an influential spirit, which is the Spirit of the world. Also, a

man that was born into this world came with the breath of God in him, another influential spirit that God

breathed into man and the name given to that man is attached to that breath which bends the Spirit to the

direction of the name given to it (that is why we should be careful of how we name our children) and

therefore the spiritual identity of that individual reflects in the attitude of his early life whether good or

bad. But still, there will later be a clash of that spiritual identity from the name given to him with other

conforming spirits of the world.

These conforming spirits of the world are summed up in these categories: the lust of the eyes, the desire

of the flesh and the pride of life; all these are conformable spirits that Adam activated from the "tree of

knowledge of good and evil", which ultimately leads to death. With these clashes that some people have

32
with these conforming spirits against their original spiritual identity, they still struggle sincerely to be

good and live a honourable life (but not according to God's best and only way) because of certain

influential factors like the family, community, learning institutions or peer groups they come across

which can either transform them to be better or allow them to be conformed to the world. But in all these,

there is another spirit, and this Spirit is also unique and powerful; and it is the only Spirit that transforms,

that comes only from God; it is called the Spirit of Truth, it is well known as the Holy Spirit. This Spirit

came to be an influential, efficient helper in the lives of men after Jesus Christ liberated men from the

bondage of sin and death only of those that believe in him (John 3:16-“For God so loved the world, that

he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting

life.”). The Holy Spirit is regarded as the Spirit of Truth because it helps to save and transform anyone

who has repented, believed and received Jesus Christ for complete salvation away from sin and death,

just as written in the scriptures of John 1:12-“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to

become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” and John 3:16.

Romans 12:2-“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what that good is, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

The Holy Spirit helps renew your mind against being conformed to the material change, trends, or issues

of this life so that your mind will be clean, pure, and free from anything that will change your attitude to a

wrong way of life before God and people. However, still, the Holy Spirit does this renewing of your mind

to remember God's word, even by studying the word of God to receive a transformation of your mind to

prove what is good to you, and accept it into your life, and allow God to perfect it in your attitude, even

according to the will of God. And that's not all; when the transforming Spirit transforms your perspective,

the Holy Spirit thereby transforms your life to have meaning by revealing the true purpose of why you

were created.

33
Attitude is the expression of one's thoughts and feelings in words and actions that are made known to

others to respond, whether good or bad. Attitude can be the position of one's body or posture; it's also the

state of mind of a person. Therefore, attitude is mainly rooted in the heart and mind of every individual.

The scriptures rightly say that we should guard our heart with all diligence, for out of it proceeds the

issues of life - Proverbs 4:23-“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” The

way you protect your heart shows how much your attitude to people, challenges, and God matters. If you

are careless with the way, you watch, pray and keep your heart, it will result to consequences which you

will eventually reap. Still, if you watch and keep it safe from these life/world issues, you will ultimately

reap good rewards. Just as the scripture rightly says, according to Galatians 6:7-9:

Galatians 6:7- “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also

reap.”

Galatians 6:8- “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the

Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

Galatians 6:9- “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.”

According to Galatians 6:7- some persons think that God is just in heaven for child's play watching men

taking His grace for granted to sin and not minding the consequences that follow. Brethren in Christ

Jesus, wake up and know that whatever you think, whatever you say, and whatever you do, you will reap

thereof. Except if by His mercy, even of the blood of Jesus, your deeds of that sinful records are cleansed

if God wills it only, for He is a merciful God. The truth is this when you sow, you are carrying out a

deliberate attempt and action. This is different from an uncertain weed that sprouted mistakenly because

some wind carried a careless seed which you now find in your vineyard to have germinated and become

the wrong plant. Listen carefully by paraphrasing the scripture, Galatians 6:7 proclaims, "Whatever YOU

sow YOU SHALL reap, be not DECEIVED, for GOD is not mocked", and I will say, "Be not deceived

by the devil". This is all about you, my brothers and sisters, being careful with your attitude towards God

34
and even towards others; the word SHALL use in the scripture can best be explained as an indicator of the

next thing that follows; it's like we know that after today, what follows is tomorrow, another example is in

the case of a bulb light switch, if turned on there shall be light if turned off, there shall be no light, so also

you do something, you, therefore, reap its results that come next. I want us to see the severity of God in

that verse, for you to understand that it is not by your wishing it but by your choice, whether you

surrendered your will to God or you carnally hold to your own will, it still falls back to the conclusion

that you made a choice finally, that will affect you. The scriptures also say in Genesis 8:22- “While the

earth remaineth, seedtime, harvest, cold and heat, and summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.”

This scripture does not only apply to money and crops but even mainly one's attitude and the issues of life

He has stored in their heart; as it keeps on lingering in the soil of one's heart, the more fertile it gets, the

more it germinates, grow and produce results eventually. And there shall be a season of sorrow/ungodly

suffering, which the person has caused for himself by his attitude, differently from Godly grief, which

God allows for the growth of his children. Therefore, the scripture in the book of 1 Peter 4:12-16:

12 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange

thing happened unto you:

13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be

revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth

upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other

men’s matters.

16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.”

This passage made us understand that there are sufferings associated with God's glory for one's spiritual

growth and another resulting from that person's own doing.

35
For there are two kinds of suffering, and they are:

• Godly Suffering

• Ungodly Suffering

Godly Suffering:

Godly suffering is the suffering experienced, which God allows his children to go through. It is the denial

of one's will or the subjection of a man's fleshly desires under the will of God even as he grows in faith

and patience with the challenges God guides him through. Psalm 66:10-12:

Psalm 66:10-'For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. '

Psalm 66:11-'Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laid affliction upon our loins.'

Psalm 66:12-'Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and water: but thou

broughtest us out into a wealthy place.’

This is a unique scripture that explains how a man of God had to go through a series of sufferings to bring

the right attitude before God so that he can get to a fulfilling life God has destined for him.

Psalm 66:10-12 indeed gave us an understanding of an actual Godly suffering God allows we believers to

experience before he can bring us to an honourable place of fulfilment; according to verse 10 of Psalm 66,

it says "God has PROVED us: God has TRIED us, as silver is tried." From this particular scripture,

PROVED and TRIED sounds more like David went through a divine examination. For indeed, God has to

test every one of His children to know if they are faithful to the end. No wonder Job accepted a proper

attitude of faith, even when he was going through suffering; he proclaimed in Job 19:25 and Job 23:10

with so much confidence, saying:

Job 19:25- 'For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth

Job 23:10- 'But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

36
Just reason with me for a moment about this man's faith, for in the time of Job, there was no Bible, Jesus

had not been crucified, and He had not yet walked on the earth, but Job opened his mouth and prophesied

Jesus Christ SECOND coming, not first but second. Oh, what a Godly suffering that made Job release

that wonderful word "REDEEMER". That is, our Lord Jesus Christ Job was confessing as his redeemer;

what an attitude despite the challenges he was going through. Our Lord Jesus Christ from the book of

Luke 18:8b says:

Luke 18:8b-'Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?'

This scripture implies that the children of God will keep the attitude of faith towards Christ Jesus until the

second coming of Jesus Christ on earth.

Another can be seen in the life of Joseph; Joseph is a beautiful example that explains a man with a proper

attitude, despite his sufferings: rejected by his brothers, sold off to the Ishmaelites, tempted and falsely

accused by Potiphar's wife, thrown to jail, even forgotten by the butler he helped. But still, in all of these,

he never cursed God, neither did he deny God's Love, but in all of these, he kept a proper attitude of faith,

still hoping on God amid all these challenges, and at the appointed time, even as God has planned it, God

brought him to his wealthy place. Even when he had the power to punish his brothers for their wicked

acts, instead, he rendered an exceptionally fantastic attitude by forgiving them and giving glory to God, as

he said in Genesis 50:19-20:

19-“And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: is he in place of God?

20-'But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this

day, to save many people alive.”

Precisely that is how we are meant to see Godly suffering as God's way of refining us to be well-matured

in all realms of body, soul, and spirit under the Holy Spirit's leading with faith in Christ Jesus. Even in the

circular world, most people are striving for very vanity, even without getting satisfaction. However, they

travail and get those riches and pleasures, but still having a hollow of dissatisfaction in their soul. It is

37
only God that can fill that hollow in their soul alone. That is why if we strive and struggle and work hard

ignorantly, He waits for us to turn back to Him. He has made His word available for us, even to whom He

pleases to show His mercy, by directing that person to come to His rest, and thereby in the process of His

transforming Love towards us, even amid our sufferings, that is when God now brings us to our wealthy

place. But for everyone that has received and believed in Christ Jesus must learn to have a humble

attitude, just as written in the scripture of 1 Peter 5:6: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty

hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.”

God's mighty hand is heavy, so why, then, are you contending and struggling to overcome a firm hand?

When I had this revelation of how big and incredible God's hand is upon me, that is when I quit

murmuring, complaining, worrying, and grumbling about the challenges that comes my way, for if one is

a child of God, God will allow sometimes fiery trials to hit you, while his giant mighty hand is upon you

and holding you still at that exact point of an emotional challenge, and one that is still immature and a

little bit foolish might speak carelessly and sometimes will try to lift God's great mighty hand off him.

Some Christians tend to raise God's mighty hand when we worry, murmur, grumble, complain when we

become anxious, and even give up on him by disobeying his commands. If God opens your spiritual eyes

to see how mighty His hand is upon you, maybe that's when you will change to the right attitude.

The only way you can bear God's mighty hand upon you, and if it is a mystery to you, is to HUMBLE

yourself under God's mighty hand. God has a mighty hand which is powerful and heavy. It is heavy

because of the fiery challenges He allows to come your way. It is for your growth, for your dependence

on Him, and for your Love for Him to increase when you have come to know Him. He has allowed all

these trials for your good. But if you keep on murmuring, complaining, and disobeying His commands,

His will concerning your life will be stagnant, and nothing will work well as it should. That is the reason

why there are some delays in one's life, for he has not learned how to humble himself under God's mighty

hand; instead, he goes on with a wrong attitude of murmuring, complaining and worrying, shifting the due

time forward. Your wealthy place is still with God, but God has to wait till you have the right attitude of

38
humility before He can take you there. Only when you have gone through the school of humility,

patience, faith, and endurance, then will the Almighty God say you are ready. Another feature of God's

mighty hand is security/guidance; His mighty hand can secure you, no matter the challenges He allows to

come your way, and will also guide you even during your trying times. With the scripture:

Ezra 8:31- 'Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto

Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of

such as lay in wait by the way.

This was Ezra's statement; at that time, the children of Israel were returning from exile to their original

country land after they had spent 70 years in exile due to Israel's unfaithful attitude. Our primary concern

is not the exile story but the revealing statement Ezra declared in that same scripture of Ezra 8 verse 32b.

Ezra 8:32b- “and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and

of such as lay in wait by the way.”

We learned in this scripture that God's mighty hand could also protect and deliver us from our enemies,

and it didn't stop there; it further revealed: 'even in the way we take', His mighty hand that delivers us will

lead and guide us all through to the end. But I must warn you, don't try to be rebellious by struggling

under God's mighty hand so that the enemy will not have a chance; I have found that God is still merciful

and gracious to us by being faithful even when we are unfaithful, with His great mighty hand delivering

us from our mess. And He also lovingly waits till when we have given up on our self-confidence and

humble ourselves, and through brokenness, we go back to God grieved right within from our heart; he

then looks down from heaven with so much compassion and delivers us from our enemies and picks us

from whatever mess we have made with ourselves and clean us, comfort us and finally bring us to a

fulfilling, joyful life. Another scripture says in 1 Corinthians 10:13- “There hath no temptation taken you

but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye

are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

39
The scripture revealed that God is ever faithful not to allow temptations, trials, and whatever kind of

challenges to come your way, except the one that is fit for you at that stage or level you are in, during that

period of your life and walk with God. He will still show you and provide you with a way to escape the

temptation that comes your way. And it is when one only humbles himself under the mighty hand of God

that he will receive grace to escape temptation (James 4:6-“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,

God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”; 1 Peter 5:5-“Likewise, ye younger, submit

yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God

resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”).

Ungodly Suffering:

Attitude is a strong interpreter of one's identity; it's your attitude that people will see and say what they

think you are. Whether you are kind, cheerful, generous, merciful, wicked, froward, scornful, friendly,

wise, righteous, stupid, cruel, greedy, courageous, foolish, coward, casual, caring, sensual, hateful,

ferocious, brave, flawed, loyal, serious, faithful, humble, rich, gracious, etc. It must reflect in your attitude

before anyone can identify you as any of these. In the case of ungodly suffering, it is a pain, anguish, or

any level of suffering one borne upon himself and by his own doing; it is not directly from God, neither is

it God's will for one to unnecessarily suffer, just as the book of James revealed to us in James 1:13-15.

James 1:13-15:

13-Let no man say when he is tempted; I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil,

neither tempteth he any man:

14-But every man is tempted when he is drawn away from his lust and enticed.

15- Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Yes, let nobody say it is God that is the cause of their sufferings when they have fallen into temptation to

do evil: murder, theft, adultery, busybody and other related wicked habits. One should take responsibility

40
for their actions, and choices when temptation arises. His choices are seeds when pressured or tempted

which he has sown and reap the consequences, thereby experiencing ungodly suffering. Apostle Peter was

warning the Christians as written in 1 Peter 4:15:

1 Peter 4:15-“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in

other men's matters.”

People commit murder and suffer for it, people steal and suffer for it, some are evildoers and suffer for it,

and also, one that is a busybody in other men's matters suffers for it. A person suffering because he is a

busybody in other people’s matters sound surprising right? It does not sound like a serious offence like

other offences- murder, theft, evildoer. But just being a busybody in other people's affairs can fetch your

trouble and suffering. We should be careful not to get hit by unnecessary woes we tend to bring by

ourselves. Stop "gossiping!" yes, stop this attitude of gossiping, for that is one way of being a busybody

in other people's affairs. It is so severe even among Christians that have no light in that area. Still, they go

on gossiping even about one minister, usher, choir, or any member of the same church fellowship, not just

one that is maybe in another company or denomination but the same church fellowship. Possibly your

gossip over Pastor A. has led you to some severe sufferings; quickly seek forgiveness from the Pastor,

and ask God for forgiveness also, then maybe by the mercy of God, the curse will be lifted from you.

Generally, there are still raised hands seeking to know why this world is full of suffering. The answer still

goes back right to the beginning after the creation of the world. The earth was cursed due to Adam's

failure to meet the purpose of the privileged responsibility given to him by God in the Garden of Eden.

From the scripture:

Genesis 3:17- “And unto Adam, he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast

eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy

sake; in sorrow shalt, thou eat of it all the days of thy life.”

41
Everyone tends to go through sorrowful sufferings because of this cursed earth, right from Adam's

generation to this current generation. That's why the only way to escape this ungodly suffering from the

nature of Adam is by repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; Acts 20:21-Testifying

both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

For God's divine wisdom is that all should come to repentance, even those that are suffering ignorantly,

not knowing that Jesus Christ has paid the price for their sins and sufferings. Someone might be saying,

why then did God curse the ground for Adam's sin? Can't He still undo the curse of the earth? The first

question might be okay to say that Adam disobeyed God, and God had allowed the curse of the land to

endure, so that man will one day understand that God is the only deliverer of their restlessness and

therefore depend and trust in God by reconciling with God through His only begotten son Jesus Christ.

According to Habakkuk 2:13-14:

13-“Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people

shall weary themselves for the same vanity?

14-For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the

sea.”

Pay attention to this scripture carefully: It made us understand that God's will for earth dwellers is that

they should suffer in the fire, implying that they will have to bear the troubles of the earth till they come

to an understanding of seeking to know God and His glory, all over the planet, there is no part left out, but

all. And now the "knowledge of the glory of the Lord" is "knowing Jesus Christ", for Jesus Christ is the

glory of God as written in John 1:14,17:

14-“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the

only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

17-“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

42
Therefore, if any man has not come to this knowledge, he is going through "UNGODLY SUFFERING"

one way or the other. But still, from that same scripture, it clearly says: "Behold, is it not of the LORD of

hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?”

Yes, it also says: and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity. Precisely what it means, the

people longing and craving and finally getting all the pleasures or material pleasures of this earth, which

are vanities, will even be weary of these vanities. Because they haven't come to the knowledge of the

glory of the Lord, they will still weary themselves of the very vanity that they even have.

However, someone will ask Why? Having got all that they want on earth and still get weary, how? And

why? Okay, let the scriptures settle your inquisition: According to the scriptures God created man in His

image, all men are made in the image of God, and therefore God created a system in man which will tend

to draw him to know the truth by breathing a spirit (not the Holy Spirit) into the soul of man (Genesis

2:7-“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath

of life; and man became a living soul.”), and then man became a living soul. That soul was empty till God

breathed a spirit, like lighting a candle in a dark room (Proverb 20:27-“The spirit of man is the candle of

the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”). And therefore, that candle in a man's soul is

searching for truth to satisfy the soul. Still, till then, he will suffer, or even though he gets all he wants on

this earth, he will never be happy, but that candle fire will still be restless till it comes to the "knowledge

of the glory of the Lord". It is like a vacuum that can never be filled till the only one which can fill it gets

in, which is Jesus Christ. No wonder the saying that says the rich also cry (limited to those that have no

relationship with Jesus Christ) .This notion is true because there tend to be a form of restlessness and the

need for more (covetousness and greed) in those that have not received Jesus Christ genuinely.

Some rich men have earned more than enough for their upcoming descendants and generations but are

still restless, wanting something more or new and greedy for vanities. They might even have peace with

their enemies, but they still feel restless because God gives a unique harmony, not as the world gives

(John 14:27-“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

43
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”). This ungodly suffering is even to all, both rich

and poor; except those that have been saved by receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal saviour,

that is, both those labouring in the very fire and those wearing themselves of the same vanity.

Let this notion be corrected: periodic happiness and momentary excitement are not regarded as fulfilling

lives concerning one that has joy by the Holy Spirit. If you don't have the pleasure of the word of God and

the Holy Spirit in your heart, you are suffering in whatever kind based on the restlessness of the soul,

whether rich or poor.

CHAPTER 3

THE IMPORTANCE OF MINDFULNESS IN BUILDING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

44
Romans 12:2-“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

Mindfulness is the quality or state of being conscious or aware of someone or something. This topic is

focused on relationship among peers, especially youths. To grow a long-lasting relationship, you have to

grow and develop spiritually (your relationship with God through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit),

mentally (knowing how to build your mind to God's word with rightful thoughts), and physically

(exhibiting the correct actions with the will of God). Our primary focus now is concerning the mind. The

mind is indeed a vital aspect of the human relationship component to be discussed. The ability for rational

thoughts, the ability to be aware of things that is, the mind. This shows how delicate it is and the reason

why it needs divine guidance and divine direction. And the word of God is most suitable for it (Romans

12:2).

Mindfulness is then appropriately defined as a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the

present moment while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily

sensations. For a relationship to grow between you and your friend, you must also know how to be

mindful of that person. Know that if you are going to get married to anyone away from Christianity, only

through courtship (unless God wills it) after meeting the opposite sex for the first time, then be ready for

an endurance marriage. Indeed, a lasting marriage is a long-term plan that also has to do with the

mindfulness of both persons. It mainly starts with a cordial relationship that describes one that likes

another person by acknowledging each other with respect, being modest and exchanging relative

greetings but not stressing on friendship alone, but also a fellowship of interest. According to 1 Timothy

5:1-2-“Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity,” concerning treating a Christian

sister, she is meant to be treated as a sister with all purity, remember with all innocence and not an

45
intimate relationship. An intimate can proceed if the man is ready for marriage with the necessary

procedures.

There are certain facts that are imperative in developing mindfulness and building and sustaining

relationships further:

1. Effective Communication: Mindfulness in relationships involves active and effective

communication. It’s about listening attentively to what the other person is saying, not just waiting

for your turn to speak. Mindful listening allows you to understand the thoughts and feelings of

your friend or partner better, fostering a deeper connection.

2. Conflict Resolution: Mindfulness also plays a crucial role in conflict resolution. When conflicts

arise in any relationship, the ability to remain present in the moment and manage one’s emotions

is essential. Mindful conflict resolution involves seeking understanding, empathy, and

compromise rather than reacting impulsively.

3. Empathy and Understanding: Being mindful in a relationship means being empathetic and

understanding. It involves putting yourself in the other person’s shoes, trying to see the situation

from their perspective, and responding with compassion. This practice creates an environment of

trust and emotional safety.

4. Appreciation and Gratitude: Mindfulness encourages individuals to appreciate and express

gratitude for the people in their lives. Taking time to acknowledge and express gratitude for the

qualities, actions, and presence of your friends or partner can enhance the quality of your

relationship.

5. Self-Awareness: In addition to being aware of others, mindfulness also includes self-awareness.

It’s about understanding your own thoughts, emotions, and triggers in the context of the

relationship. This self-awareness can help you make conscious choices and responses in your

interactions.

46
6. Quality Time: Mindfulness extends to spending quality time with your friends or partner. It’s not

just about being physically present but fully engaged and invested in the moment together.

Mindful quality time deepens the connection and intimacy in the relationship.

7. Boundaries and Self-Care: Mindfulness in relationships also involves setting healthy boundaries

and practicing self-care. It means knowing when to prioritize your own well-being and when to

respect the boundaries of the other person. This balance is essential for maintaining a healthy and

sustainable relationship.

8. Growth and Adaptation: Mindfulness allows for growth and adaptation within the relationship. It

means being open to change, personal development, and adapting to the evolving needs and

desires of both individuals in the relationship.

9. Forgiveness and Healing: When conflicts or hurts occur, mindfulness enables forgiveness and

healing. It involves releasing resentments, offering forgiveness, and working together to mend

any emotional wounds. Mindfulness promotes a sense of peace and reconciliation.

mindfulness is a multifaceted practice that enriches relationships on various levels. It involves active

listening, empathy, self-awareness, and maintaining a healthy balance between self-care and caring for

others. Ultimately, mindfulness contributes to the depth, resilience, and well-being of relationships,

making them more fulfilling and enduring.

The Significance of Spiritual Mindfulness: Nurturing True Dominance

Therefore, every Christian brother and sister must be mindful of how they treat each other with all purity

with Godly behaviour and character: and as you would like your neighbours to treat you, also do to them

likewise (Luke 6:31-“And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”) Try to

know what irritates, what frustrates, what offends, and what kind of behaviour and speech are detrimental

to your neighbour and keep being mindful. Try to understand that I am not saying to you; "that you

should be too religious" for those that thought that being conscious means being calculative in what to do

and what to say, thereby confining your true self by pretence. NO!!! Be who you are rightly in Christ

47
Jesus if you are the sober type, good; the jovial with proper motives, good; the zealous type, better. The

main thing is to be careful not to hurt another person by satisfying yourself against another person's

peace. Study the word of God with prayer; the Holy Spirit is the one to guide your mind. I strongly

encourage every youth to relate with one another, mainly with edifying and cordial communications

between brothers and sisters of Christ, and not flirty communications (Ephesians 4:29-“Let no corrupt

communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may

minister grace unto the hearers”).

Mindfulness, if not carefully defined in one's behaviour, can be abused. Between a boy and a girl, it can

mean to them as a means of being mindful of how to satisfy their sexual lust with their selfish desires,

thereby thwarting their future. Mindfulness does not call for a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship; I

repeat: it's not a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship; that kind is from the pit of hell. The world has

constructed its duplicate of many meanings of the exact words, thereby creating abuse of every one of

them concerning one's mind. Some of these words that have been redefined and formed and have been

abused by certain people with one's mind are Love, friendship, relationship, etc.

To provide a clear explanation of a specific past situation from my experience with this issue, let me

recount a time when I was in a tertiary institution., I met a fellow Christian brother after a specific Church

meeting. I thought I could encourage him to know the Love of Christ Jesus, though I had no filthy

thoughts in my mind, being sincere as Jesus commanded us to love our neighbours (I meant Agape Love),

and I said to him that I love him; he immediately rebuked me and said that he is not a woman, and I must

be a gay, he even took the issue up, by telling almost everyone in the around that I'm a gay. From this

experience of mine concerning my Christian brother, I have learnt that not all Christians that are

physically grown are spiritually mature; many have their head filled with filthy thoughts, to the extent

they can misinterpret you in accordance to the dirty things they have been nurtured with, I too also

learned to be careful to know how to have a conversation with some persons in this category.

48
Moreover, they might not be spiritually mature, and they must have allowed filthy things to abuse some

critical concept in their lives, like the word 'love'. This occurrence does not mean he should be despised or

regarded as one that marked for condemnation. This matter is the more reason he needs proper

deliverance and genuine repentance unto salvation. Therefore, one has to study the culture of these certain

youths being deceived by the devil for them to think, the statement 'I love you' is all about a romantic

affair; it shows how seriously they have fallen prey to the hand of the devil. Therefore, everyone, pastors,

and ministers of God, need to be careful and mindful of people's responses to anything they say. To an

extent, don't let your knowledge be a stumbling block to others' salvation and healing. Now especially to

Christian brothers, be mindful of the words you exchange with a sister of the same faith, do not tell a lady

you love her when you are not ready to marry her because women are most sensitive and mindful with

words than men, instead since it's a cordial relationship, exchange it with I like you; liking someone

focuses mainly on the interest you find in one's behaviour, attitude, and appearance.

Most people misinterpret words because of detrimental issues they have filled their minds with, e.g.,

unhealthy videos, romantic novels, worldly or illicit music, etc. Instead, fill your mind with the word of

God, mainly day and night, so that you can be mindful of what people's words mean to you and what your

words mean to them; you can also listen to Gospel music and tapes, watch healthy movies and read

inspirational and meaningful books, etc. Therefore, for every Christian brother and sister who will

communicate with one that is not of the same faith, try to be extra mindful of what you say and what the

person says. Don't ever say you will not talk to them; you will indeed speak with them as you meet them

in school, business offices, church meetings, and other social gatherings. You should be careful with

peers that are engaging in inappropriate relationship; you shouldn't partake in their affairs and discussions

that are dishonouring to God (1Corinthians5:9-11-“I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with

fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or

with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.”; 1 Corinthians 15:33-“Thou fool, that which

thou sowest is not quickened, except it die”).

49
Christian brothers and sisters should treat each other with Godly fear. Here is an instance: The way a

Christian brother relates with his biological sister is how he is meant to associate with another Christian

sister, that is, another person's biological sister.

The Power of Renewing the Mind and Soul

Drawing back to the 1st part of this topic, I highlighted the relative components of the human relationship

states: spiritual, mental, and physical states. But we also need to know that there are also three realms

regarding the various relationship states of the human components with a promoted understanding. And

these three human relationship realms are the spirit, the soul, and the body (NB: the heart and the body

realms will be treated under another topic-Consciousness, later after this topic).

If not half of the world's population, many people interchange the words: soul and spirit as the same, but

they are not the same. They are indeed different, as according to Hebrews 4:12-“For the word of God is

quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul

and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The

difference between the soul and the spirit is explained even from the word of God: creating the difference

(dividing asunder) of the soul and the spirit; it explained further that the word of God in respect to the

soul is a discerner of the thoughts (mental aspects, intellect, mind); while in respect of the spirit, the word

of God is a discerner of the heart (conscience, will, heart desires). Therefore, the soul is the relative part

of man's realm that deals with thoughts, emotions, and intellects, which converse with other beings.

According to the English dictionary, the soul is defined as the essence of a person, usually thought to

consist of one's thoughts and personality. According to Kenneth E. Hagin, the title of his book "How the

Spirit of God can lead you", He stated that our understanding, our natural human mentality, is a part of

our soul. We are defined by the world acting in the physical realm by what we feed our soul with; if you

provide your soul with corruption, you will indeed be corrupted and be defined by it actively in your

relationship with the world. But if you feed your soul with the word of God (James 1:21-“Wherefore lay

50
apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is

able to save your souls.”), your soul will be saved, and you will be protected from how the world defines

you; instead, you will be represented by God's word.

Most people don't even know why they have bad dreams or nightmares when they sleep; all the miseries

and bad dreams, and horrible hallucinations are due to their corrupted souls. Their souls sometimes play

evil images while they sleep. In contrast, their soul is involved in something different, which might be

cruel and lustful. Stressing more from the word of God according to James 1:21- (Wherefore lay apart all

filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which can save

your souls) filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness are what corrupt their souls. The filthy things they

engage in or relate their mind with. When you are mindful of unclean, unholy, and lewd things to your

interest, then your soul is corrupted and in a state of condemnation. In terms of the superfluity of

naughtiness: when you are living a careless, casual, or misbehaving life of luxury, as one that is living a

worldly life, you are thereby corrupting your soul.

James is therefore saying, lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness and receive meekness the

engrafted word of God, which can save your souls. James 1:21 is same with Romans 12:2-And be not

conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what

that good is, acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Making us understand that we should not be conformed

(defined) by the world (lust of the world) but be ye transformed by the renewing (restoring, saving) of our

mind(soul). The Psalmist David spoke of the repairing of the soul-Psalm 23:3-“He restoreth my soul: he

leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”. The soul(mind) is to be renewed or

restored. Our Soul comprises our intellect and emotions. The way we reason and think; also, our level of

excitement, happiness, sorrow, and anger can be controlled through the constant study of the word of

God. If we are mindful of these things concerning God's word, then we are allowing our souls to be saved

by God with constant prayer, worship, and Godly fellowship.

51
Relationship between the soul and spirit, and how they impact personal growth and relationships are

highlighted below:

1. Self-Reflection and Personal Growth: Recognizing the distinction between the soul and spirit

encourages self-reflection. It allows individuals to assess their thoughts, emotions, and the

condition of their soul. This self-awareness is a critical step in personal growth. When you

understand the aspects of your soul that may need renewal, you can take intentional steps to

transform them.

2. Balance and Harmony: Achieving balance and harmony between the soul and spirit is essential

for a holistic and healthy life. When the soul is in harmony with the spirit, individuals experience

a sense of peace, purpose, and fulfillment. This balance positively impacts their relationships, as

they engage with others from a place of inner peace and clarity.

3. Empathy and Compassion: Understanding the soul and spirit also enhances empathy and

compassion in relationships. When you recognize the depth of emotions and desires within your

own soul, you become more empathetic toward the experiences and struggles of others. This

empathy fosters deeper and more meaningful connections with friends, family, and partners.

4. Conflict Resolution: The ability to distinguish between the soul and spirit is particularly helpful

in conflict resolution. By recognizing when your soul’s emotions and thoughts are clouding your

judgment, you can choose to align with your spirit’s higher principles. This can lead to more

objective and fair conflict resolution.

5. Personal Responsibility: Understanding the soul and spirit also highlights the importance of

personal responsibility. You have the agency to feed your soul with positive and godly

influences, leading to personal growth and healthier relationships. This awareness empowers

individuals to take ownership of their own spiritual and emotional development.

6. Healthy Boundaries: The knowledge of the soul and spirit distinction assists in setting healthy

boundaries in relationships. It allows individuals to recognize when their soul’s desires or

52
emotions may lead to unhealthy or co-dependent dynamics. Setting boundaries based on spiritual

principles contributes to healthier and more respectful relationships.

7. Fruit of the Spirit: The fruits of the Spirit, as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23-“And Enoch walked

with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all

the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years”, are love, joy, peace, patience,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These fruits are produced in the

spirit and manifest in one’s character. Understanding the soul-spirit relationship enables

individuals to cultivate these fruits in their lives, which in turn positively impact their

relationships..

The distinction between the soul and spirit is foundational for personal growth and relational dynamics. It

encourages self-reflection, balance, empathy, and compassion. It also provides practical tools for conflict

resolution, personal responsibility, and maintaining healthy boundaries in relationships. Ultimately, this

understanding leads to a life characterized by the fruits of the Spirit, creating a positive and enriching

environment for both personal and relational growth.

CHAPTER 4

THE THREE REALMS OF CONSCIOUSNESS: SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY

1 Thessalonians 5:23- “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit

and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

From this topic, consciousness, we will focus more on the spirit and the body realms but less on the

cognitive domain though mindfulness has covered aspects concerning the mind.

According to the English dictionary, consciousness is defined as being aware and responsive to one's

surroundings. Another definition: Consciousness is a person's awareness or perception of something.

Another says: being aware of your being and other beings (I just said the last definition in person). From

these three definitions, it is agreed that consciousness is stressing on the word "awareness". Awareness of

what? What exactly? It implies awareness of your surroundings, things around you, your being, and other

beings that surround you. therefore, Consciousness is a state of perceiving and being aware of yourself,

your surroundings, and other beings around you. From this definition, one can now begin to understand

54
what it means to be aware of their surroundings and beings fully; therefore, one can be conscious

concerning their realms.

One needs to be spiritually conscious, mentally conscious, and physically conscious of his surroundings.

Everyone in this world can operate in these three realms while living on earth, which implies that

everyone has the capability of being spiritually, mentally, and physically conscious of his surroundings.

But instead of everyone to dominate their realms, some people still have their realms controlling them,

many others dominate one and leave the other two fallow, that is why some people's lifestyles are not

appealing, for instance in school, you meet and notice that there are some students that know how to take

care of their bodies, make it look healthy, handsome, beautiful and keep fit by eating good food, by

exercising their body through sport activities and physical fitness exercises; but are lazy in reading their

books, reluctant in doing their class academic assignments, and they fail to prepare for their exams by not

studying their books, thereby failing to exercise their minds or their intellects; they also have problems in

their spiritual life- failing to worship, pray, engage in a relationship with God, and fail to manifest

spiritual fruits. This issue are likely seen among certain individuals (though there are some people that

have completely failed in the spiritual aspect, and thereby condemned themselves, by believing that there

is no God: they are referred as atheist).

However, in some cases, it can be the other way for some people: they can be intelligent, knowing how to

exercise their brains (minds), but lazy in keeping their bodies clean and healthy, and also fail in their

spiritual lives. And finally, there can also be a class of people that are well to do with their spiritual lives

but a failure with their mental and physical lives. God wants every one of His children through our Lord

Jesus Christ to be conscious of their three realms and to be found blameless, faultless and clean, just as

according to 1 Thessalonians 5:23- “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your

whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

According to the scripture in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, wholly is not just referring to the body only, or the

spirit only or the soul only, but referring to everything concerning you, which are your spirit, soul, and

55
body, and all should be sanctified. Your spirit should be cleansed from ungodliness; your mind should be

cleansed from dirty thoughts; your body should be cleansed from unrighteous and sinful acts or diseases.

Be conscious all-round, be spiritual while seeking holiness, be mindful of the word of God, and be

practical in righteous works. Just as it is revealed from the same scripture of 1 Thessalonians 5:23, God

wants you to be blameless in spirit, soul, and body, even at His coming. My brothers and sisters of course

you cannot be perfect while in this sinful world; but you still need to be pressing unto perfection till the

second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He is not just expecting you to be too spiritual and holy, and not exhibiting the righteousness of Jesus

Christ. As a believer you are not only expected to be fasting, praying and studying the word of God. You

are to exercise the righteousness of Christ in your personal life, engage in fellowship with other believers

and be a witness of Jesus Christ to the world. All these truths are God's will and expectations from you.

But walking with God unto perfection is a gradual process, which includes God's divine order and process

in creating man. The Man God created in Genesis 1 was indeed created as a spirit being in the image of

God- Genesis 1:26-“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have

dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,

and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” That is why you must worship God in spirit,

for He is spirit. Therefore, the first stage involves being spiritual. You have to be born again in the spirit,

conscious in the spirit of God's presence in your life through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The second stage involves forming man into a living soul; Genesis 2:7-“And the LORD God formed man

of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

stresses God formed man out of dust (earthly means) and gave him a soul by breathing into man. The soul

and body are a collaborative process because it is the soul (mind) that maintains and operates the

activeness of the body. Notice I didn't say supply the means for the activeness of the body, for what

supplies the means is the spirit (the heart). For instance, what makes a canopy to be erect so that everyone

can be sheltered? What? What is it? Of course, the canopy stands.

56
A canopy usually has metal equipment (stand) used to erect a canopy. And that is how it is with the

human being God formed by giving them a soul to have a form, just as that metal equipment does erect a

canopy and gives the canopy shape. Another example is a balloon, The way God breathes into us to be a

living soul, we do same by breathing into a balloon to give it a form or shape (NB: These are just

analogies to explain the teachings of this truth; God’s divine work of creation should not be equated with

these inanimate examples given). The second stage explains how we need to be mentally conscious of

God's word and implement what we read into our daily walk with Jesus Christ. In exercising this truth an

individual thereby giving God the glory by being conscious in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

According to apostle Paul, he testified of the mystery of the spirit, soul, and body processes in two kinds:

as a church and as a person.

Consciousness of God's Dwelling Within: The Power of the Living Tabernacle

In this part, we will know how the relationship between the three realms operate while using the Lord's

Tabernacle as a depiction of the three realms. The Lord's Tabernacle (according to Exodus 25-27), made

with hands, is mainly related to the Old Testament of the Bible. In contrast, the tabernacle of a living

vessel is primarily emphasised in the New Testament according to Revelations 21:3-“And I heard a great

voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and

they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” and 2 Corinthians 5:1-

4-“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an

house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed

upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For

we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed

upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.” A scholar once said that "the old testament is the new

testament concealed, while the new testament is the old testament revealed". According to Matthew

5:17-“Think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to

fulfil.” These were Jesus words. This truth thoroughly explains everything; that Jesus came to reveal what

57
has been concealed for many years, thereby fulfilling the law. That is why the crossing of the red sea,

according to Exodus 14, is a picture of baptism in the New Testament: cleansing one from sin and

renewing one from the old man to the new man in Christ Jesus, by His blood.

Moreover, the crossing of the river Jordan according to Joshua 3:10-17-“And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall

know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the

Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites,

and the Jebusites. Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into

Jordan. Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man. And it

shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord

of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters

that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap. And it came to pass, when the people

removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the

people. And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark

were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest). That

the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam,

that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and

were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. And the priests that bare the ark of the

covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over

on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.” in the Old Testament is a picture of

sacrificial cleansing of oneself from the issues of the flesh and the decision to carry his cross in the New

Testament.

The invasion and victory over Canaan by defeating the former inhabitants of Canaan with their giants is a

picture of destroying, overcoming, and beating the lust of the flesh, the passion of the eyes, the desire of

the world, pride of life, anger, malice, unforgiveness, hatred, etc.

58
In this same way, the explanation of the Lord's tabernacle in the Old Testament to the Revealing of the

New Testament tabernacle of a living vessel where the holy spirit dwells can be related to the three

realms of consciousness. Everyone born again in Christ Jesus is a living tabernacle, where Jesus is the

great high priest and mediator, where the holy spirit is our comforter and counsellor, and where God our

Father also dwells. The Lord's Tabernacle, under the Old Testament, is explained in Exodus 25-27 how

God’s Tabernacle was to be built: how the holiest place was to be made, how the holy place was to be

built, and how the Tabernacle itself with the outer parts or entrance was to be built.

The Lord's tabernacle consists of 3 essential components: the holiest place, the holy place, and the

tabernacle itself; this is an abstraction to a living tabernacle where God dwells precisely in respect from

the heart to the mind(soul), and the body. Therefore, the Lord's tabernacle is the living vessel of a

Christian that has accepted Jesus into his heart, thus implying that the holiest place is the heart where God

the Father, Jesus, and the holy spirit dwells; the sacred place is the mind, where the word is renewed

daily; and the tabernacle is the body where we show and sacrificially exhibit righteousness.

This is always the order of things in every Christian that has accepted Christ into his heart (into the holiest

place), I didn't say into the mind or brain, but I said into his HEART, yes! Into the most sacred place

where God dwells, that is the heart. The heart is where the holy spirit operates from; you can never

understand the power and importance of the holy spirit with your head; it is with the heart you can

understand God; that is why the psalmist says in Psalm119:11- “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I

might not sin against thee.” Try to understand what the psalmist is saying: "The word have I hid in

mine… where? Is it my head? NO! It is my heart, mine HEART, the holiest place where God dwells.

That is why Joshua1:8 says: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt

meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for

then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have success”. The meditation ends with the

heart, which is a process of one conceiving the word of God in his heart.”

59
Moreover, remember the order is from the heart to mind, then to the body as what goes out; and from the

body to mind, then to heart as what comes in, of an individual. This applies to every human being; the

psalmist also explains this truth according to Psalm 19:14- “Let the words of my mouth, and the

meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” It is only in

the heart that anything can be made acceptable unto God, only for every child of God: your prayers, your

offerings, your thanksgivings, your worship, your praises, your fasting, in fact, your everything.

The word of God should also be in your mouth as what goes out, according to Joshua 1:8- “This book of

the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest

observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and

then thou shalt have good success.” The book of the law should not depart from thy mouth: remember

that it is what you conceived in your heart, you can produce out of your body, in this case, it is the word

of God that you conceived in your heart, that is what you can produce from your mouth. Jesus Christ

explained this in Matthew12:34-35:

34. “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the

heart the mouth speaketh.

35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of

the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

and Matthew 15:11,17-20-“Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh

out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth

goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth

come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders,

adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to

eat with unwashed hands defileth not a man.” He emphasized that "out of the abundance of the heart, the

mouth speaks," and it is not what goes into the mouth of a man that defiles a man, but it is what goes out

60
of the mouth of a man, that violates a man. Christian relationships should be a kind that allows the

presence of God to dwell in their affairs, to bring about spiritual growth in holiness, and thereby bearing

spiritual fruits in every communication and relationship they partake in.

The Sanctified Living Tabernacle: Fostering Love, Unity, and Spiritual Growth

For a reasonable relationship to grow, even between a Christian brother and a Christian sister, as I once

said, it must start with a cordial relationship whereby they are relating as a brother and a sister indeed.

The brother has to treat her with all manner of purity in holiness, in communication, and conduct.

Therefore, all brothers and sisters must be of good behaviour and tender-hearted to one another (1 Peter

3:8-“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be

courteous”). God can dwell amongst us in this way because our Tabernacles of each brother and sister are

made whole, to be a unified tabernacle, where Jesus is the high priest.

A unified tabernacle can never be realized if there is no love among brethren in a Christian family, in a

church, in a Christian ministry, in a Christian society, and in a nation; there must be love and unity for

brethren to dwell (Psalm 133:1-2: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together

in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard:

that went down to the skirts of his garments.” If anyone offends the other, they should try to reconcile

with the person being offended. Also, the person that was offended should forgive and forget the

offender's actions. In this way, the church can grow and be alert against the evil schemes of the devil (2

Corinthians 2:11-“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”). But

a unified tabernacle can only be made manifest if every Christian brother and sister allows God's presence

to dwell in everyone individually, every time, and everywhere.

61
An individual that permits God's presence into his life by the sanctifying power of our Lord Jesus Christ

(1 John1:7-“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the morning, we have fellowship one with another, and

the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”), is qualified to be among the body of Christ

Jesus. But even though you are now among the body (Church) of Christ Jesus, you must have to know

that you don't just have to be idle and lazy to work out your salvation.

If you stop functioning, if you stop running, if you quit serving, and if you finally stop fighting with the

help of Christ Jesus, my brothers and sisters you will surely derail. You will surely lose your faith if you

are not working out your salvation (Philippians 2:12-“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,

not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear

and trembling”). You must always cleanse, and sanctify yourself in Jesus Christ to maintain your

salvation in Christ, (1 Thessalonians 4:4-“That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in

sanctification and honor”; 2 Timothy 2: 21-“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a

vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” As a

disciple of Jesus Christ you are meant to be praying without season (Luke 18:1-“And he spoke a parable

unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint”). You can build your spiritual life

with constant study of the word of God, (Joshua 1:8; Romans 12:1-2). With all these spiritual exercises,

join a fellowship by also engaging in fasting, worship, praises and carry out any other activities that are

holy and pleasing to God, (Philippians 4:8-“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever

things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,

whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these

things”).

Therefore, those that are of the body of Christ Jesus are those that are able to produce fruits of the holy

spirit; if the nature of God dwells in you, you will surely bear fruits so that you can be a blessing to

others. But some abuse these privileges after tasting the benefits; they later go back to their old idolatry

ways, which are not pleasing to God; for it will be challenging to renew the Lord's tabernacle of that

62
individual to its former state (Hebrews 6:4-6-“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened,

and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good

word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto

repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame). And

if they continue in their foolish ways, they are therefore heading towards condemnation; for God will

instead allow the spirit of error to possess them (2 Thessalonians2:10-12-

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love

of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this reason, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.) This

will be so unto those who have abused the living tabernacle they possess because they believed in the

devil's lies and not the truth of the holy spirit. These are also known as the merchants of Babylon

(Revelations 18), instead of them being teachers or servants of God, they allowed themselves to be

deceived with the desire for filthy lucre by the Devil. They also tend to possess a form of Godliness (2

Timothy 3:4-5) Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form

of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away).

Earthly and devilish wisdom. According to James 3:14-15: “ But if ye have bitter envying and strife in

your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descended not from above but is earthly,

sensual, devilish

The heart (the holiest place) of a person, if corrupted, can be possessed by the devil; (remember the devil

can never touch or tamper with the heart of a child of God, but can only come against the mind, by

feeding the mind with evil thoughts, if the person in question is not studying the word of God every day,

if the person is not praying every day, and if the person is not engaged in the things of the spirit and

worship always.

63
A day missed engaging in the things of the Holy Spirit is dangerous, which will make the devil attack the

mind. When the mind becomes very weak due to the devil's frequent attacks; this will then make the devil

have an access to the heart, by then the Holy Spirit has left that person temporarily because his mind has

been abused and full of corruption and filth; that is when the devil can now possess the heart of a sinner,

that was once a Christian. Here is an example: I built a structure of one room with one door against an

enemy that wants to get into that structure. The enemy always comes every day trying to invade my

building, but he can't because I always lean on the door, by applying my weight on the door, to make it

impossible for the enemy to get in. This implies that I must also have the strength enough to hold on to

that door by eating good food every day. Any time I do not eat my food, I will lose strength, and that will

make the enemy overpower me by breaking through. Therefore the enemy can burgle my building due to

low strength and inadequate food to regain strength. This idea reveals how it is for every Christian; the

spirit (inner man) in you needs to be fed with things of the Spirit, which guides the heart of every

Christian.

The devil can only attack the heart through a carnal mind; a situation whereby the devil now controls the

heart of a Sinner that was once a Christian, what eventually proceeds out of that person’s heart is revealed

in the book of James. James 1:14- “But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your guts, glory not, and lie

not against the truth. James went further to explain how much the devil controls the person in James 1:15-

This wisdom descended from above is earthly, sensual, devilish. This implies that the order of the devil

starts from the body (worldly), mind (sensual), and heart (devilish), and all these denote corruption to

condemnation.

The Power of Spiritual Consciousness: Building a Victorious Life

As a Christian being spiritually conscious is very important than just being mindful and more critical than

being body conscious (perceiving through senses). A person who is spirit-Conscious in Christ Jesus is a

person of order; this person follows arrangements from the start; this person understands formalities and

formations of things; this is a person who knows, obeys, and obeys and keeps to the perfect will of God.

64
Listen well Anyone that claims to be a Christian without being spirit-conscious (praying, fasting,

meditating, etc.) is perishing while living in the flesh without knowing. For instance, when you stop

eating food for months, your body will reveal that you are dying. That is the same with your spirit (inner

man); the period you stop feeding your spirit, the period you stop allowing the Holy Spirit to feed you, the

period you stop engaging in the spirit, that is the period you begin to perish from the spirit. Remember,

the order of things starts from the heart to the soul, then finally to the body.

When you have no spiritual backing, it means anything goes: spiritual attack can hit from anywhere to

that person that is dead in spirit; when the spell is conceived, it will surely manifest later in the physical,

affecting the person one way or the other on the body physically as a kind of disease, wound, or by any

other earthly problem which may finally lead to the death of that person. Anyone without the holy spirit

lives a careless life, and they are perishing while living in the flesh. Don't be deceived with funny

questions like: why do some sinners live long on earth, even up to 100 years before they die? Now, let me

clarify the answer to this question: the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life.

According to Romans 6:23-“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus

Christ our Lord." Death is not referring to just physical end (when a person dies naturally or by earthly

means), but eternal death, eternal condemnation. That is why the scripture shows the opposite of eternal

death, which is eternal life. Eternal life and eternal death begins now, as you are on earth until after

judgment and then forever.

A sinner can be living 200 years or whatsoever years while dead spiritually without knowing, till after

judgment, he might find his soul in hell forever. Don't wait to measure your way of life by those that live

long on earth before choosing the kind of life to live; I grieve for anyone that is ignorant of this truth. You

better have a changed heart and accept Jesus Christ by faith from the word of God on how to live an

eternal life by the Holy Spirt.

Yes, the righteous can even live long and enjoy the goodness of the earth according to Matthew 5:5-

“blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” The final decision is from God; He can decide to

65
have the soul of a righteous man anytime (e.g. Enoch, Elijah, Stephen, Jonathan). I mentioned Jonathan

because Jonathan creates a picture of Christians that are a martyr for Jesus Christ. Do you know that

Jonathan was a righteous man? Even though he died in the battle against the Philistines. The Bible never

recorded any intentional sin of Jonathan against God, but the Bible recorded his righteousness and love.

Jonathan, like other children of God, is in heaven.

According to Romans 8:5- “For, they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that

are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” If you are led by them, you will do the things of eternal life,

but if you are led by just your body, your carnal mind, your flesh, you will do the things of the flesh by

reaping corruption which is of eternal death. Don't be disturbed when people hate you for no reason and

call you all names because you are a Christian and do things that are of the spirit. Oh yes! Some funny

individuals hate someone else for no just cause; I have been a witness to that in tertiary institutions. In the

lodge, I do stay with five other guys in a room; there was a particular guy that used to express how much

he hated me, even telling me that he didn't know why. Whenever he saw me, he called me names like

"holier than thou", "the bishop", "prophet of our time", and “pastor” mockingly; and there are others like

that, that even go further to plot evil against you because "you are not among" meaning that you are not of

the flesh, that do things only according to the flesh; when they see you pray, they get irritated; when they

mistakenly know you are fasting, they grumble and murmur; when they find you studying the Bible, they

gossip; and when they come across you worshipping, they get disturbed.

This kind of people can never receive you, For the scripture clearly emphasized these kinds of people

according to 1 Corinthians 2:14-“But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they

are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” Indeed, the

natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God because they are foolish unto him; that is why

when they see you praying more than usual, they get disturbed, or when they see you studying the Bible

better than before, they feel uncomfortable. If you are experiencing this in your life among the strange

people you live with, allow me to tell you "WELCOME". For youths who are yet to be in tertiary

66
institutions, be not surprised when you meet a fault finder, a hater, a gossiper, and an irritator of your

spiritual life. One thing is this: you are already an overcomer, for Jesus said: "Take heart for I have

overcome the world"; be in spirit, for Jesus has overcome all these challenges during His earthly ministry.

Therefore, as a Christian be a light and a witness of Jesus Christ to those fault finders, haters, gossipers,

and irritators of your spiritual life, so that you can peradventure draw them to Jesus Christ.

Another part of the scripture says, "for we are more than conquerors" Every one of their minor troubles is

always conquered, even to the conversion of that person's soul to Christ. You can convert the souls of this

kind of people when they are tired of looking for trouble; and because they have seen Jesus Christ in you.

I was a living testimony to the conversion of souls to Christ in the university, to the glory of God; these

were guys that thought they were irritating me because of the kind of life they were living, (they were

living in the same lodge with my immediate junior brother and me). They later got tired of their

disturbing lifestyle and came to Jesus Christ.

The Church is indeed founded on a solid foundation of "Love" and "Grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ,

which is full of grace and truth. But the Church should not just only be built on this solid foundation of

Love and Grace and left fallow; there should be activities to make the Church be working, there should be

a spiritual activity that keeps the Church working and put into play, and that is the working of the Holy

Spirit. There are two significant needs from the Holy Spirit in this dispensation of grace. The two

essential needs of our time, in this dispensation of the Church, are: "Spiritual Discernment" and "Spiritual

Authority". According to 1 Corinthians2:9-15-

9 (KJV): But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the

things God hath prepared for them that love him.

10: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep

things of God.

67
11: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so, the

things of God knoweth no man but the Spirit of God.

12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know

the things that are freely given to us of God.

13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy

Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual items with spiritual.

14: But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:

neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15: But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he is judged of no man.”

What Is Spiritual Discernment? Spiritual Discernment is the spiritual ability to understand and distinguish

between spiritual things and matters critically so as to make a Godly decision and spiritual judgment that

will indeed affect the people to the glory of God. Today's contemporary Church needs Spiritual

Discernment; as an essential accelerator of the Holy Spirit in the Church, it will march the Church to

glorious victory in every aspect of Christian life.

Some Christians limit the need of the Church to only doctrinal knowledge; yes, I agree with the warning

of God according to Hosea4:6- “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast

rejected knowledge, I will also forsake thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten

the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” But my dear, do you also know that without

revelation, the Church perish? According to Proverb 29:18-“Where, there is no vision, the people die: but

he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” The Church needs the Holy Spirit to reveal things about the issues

and needs of the Church so that the following actions of a Local Church can be discerned concerning the

activities and continual operation of a Local Church; as well as to guide the growth and progress of the

Church. Spiritual Discernment includes revealed knowledge and practical knowledge applied to bring out

the best result. Though there are certain misconceptions about what Spiritual Discernment means.

68
Spiritual Discernment is not a matter of fortune-telling or foretelling. Spiritual Discernment is a unique

gift given to spiritual leaders to make right decisions and judgement; especially in addressing issues of the

Church or other issues in any matter or gathering with Godly concerns.

What is Spiritual Authority? Spiritual Authority is the power to enforce rules and give orders in the spirit

realm that will surely manifest effectively to resultant changes that can be seen or unseen in the physical

realm. Please do listen; I didn't say having authority as a Pastor, Bishop, Deacon, Teacher, Evangelist,

Apostle, Governor, Minister, Senator, President, etc. All these are authorities assigned and delegated

positions of power according to Romans 13:1-“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. There is

no power but God: the powers that are ordained of God, but I said Spiritual Authority.” Indeed, Spiritual

Authority is one of the greatest needs in the Church. Luke 9:1-“Then he called his twelve disciples

together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases”, and Matthew

10:1-“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits,

to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases.” Himself has given us that

spiritual authority to cast out unclean spirits and cure illnesses; that is, to control issues in the spirit realm.

Please show me a Christian that has excellent knowledge without Spiritual Authority, and I will show you

how disorganized he is spiritually. But allow me to offer you a Christian that has Spiritual Authority with

expertise in the knowledge of God’s word and tell you how he has control in the realm of the spirit by the

working of the Holy Spirit. The truth is this: if there is no spiritual authority in you, it means the Holy

Spirit is not in you. When Jesus was teaching, He was teaching with authority; when Jesus was healing,

He was healing with power; and when He was casting out unclean spirits, He was casting out unclean

spirits with control. If you come to me and boast of your knowledge and experience with teaching and

preaching, I will ask you: how many souls have you witnessed and they were blessed? How many souls

have you saved for Christ? With the authority Christ has given you, your attitude, witnessing, teachings

and preaching should have blessed a soul at least or better converted a sinner to Jesus Christ; for He has

given you authority according to Luke 9:1-2-“Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them

69
power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God,

and to heal the sick.”

We need to be spirit-conscious as individuals and as a Church. Having the Church founded on the solid

rock of Jesus Christ, through love and grace and the working of the Holy Spirit, makes the Church march

to a flawless victory.

Living as Temples of God: Embracing Holiness and God's Righteousness

We are not only meant to be spirit-conscious as Christians, but we are also meant to be body-conscious of

who we are in Christ Jesus. According to 1 Corinthians 3:16-“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,

and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

Precisely, the Spirit of God dwells in a body (temple) that has been dedicated and offered as a living

sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1-“I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present

your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”) as holy and

acceptable unto God. Therefore, if you are a Christian, as brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ, you are to

offer your body as a living sacrifice to God and not to man. Therefore, a Christian that is body-conscious

in Christ Jesus is a Christian that is made holy through the sanctifying power of Jesus Christ and thereby

made acceptable for righteous work to bring salvation into the world to the growth of the Church by the

Holy Spirit that leads the Church to Jesus Christ and eternal life. Therefore, every Christian must live a

holy life before God and allow God's righteousness to be shown in their daily lives. In essence, every

child of God must live a mutual life of holiness to God and a life of allowing God's righteousness to be

revealed to all men.

The Mutual Path of the Divine Cross:

70
The mutual path of the divine cross is about an obedient life of sacrifice and service to a godly course of

subjecting your will to the will of God through our Lord Jesus Christ first and then living a Christ-like life

to all men. This is about Matthew 16:24-“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after

me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

From the scripture, to deny oneself means to offer selfless and sacrificial service in obedience to the will

of God; by taking up your cross: which means that God now accepts you through Jesus Christ as you

follow Jesus Christ: this means that you have to walk in the righteousness of Jesus Christ to all men. If

you are not carrying your cross, it means God has not accepted you through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Remember, only those that want to be like Christ and exhibit the attitude and behaviour of Jesus Christ

are the ones that the scripture: Matthew 16:24 is addressing. The emphasis of Jesus's statement started

with this: "if any man will come after me", in other words ", if any man will walk as I walk", "if any man

will do as I do", then "let him deny himself, and take up the cross and follow me".

According to Reverend Abuchi: "the way of the mutual paths of a divine cross is Holiness to God first,

and then righteousness to all men" This is a distinct mystery to every child of God. From his words about

the cross, it means that we must reference God in holiness first with our body as a sanctified living temple

and then allow the will of God to play His righteousness in our lives to all men. This mutual path is about

the greatest commandments given by Jesus Christ: that you should love the Lord your God with all your

heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength; and the second: Love your

neighbour as yourself, and it has been confirmed that there are no other commandments greater than

these. To deny yourself concerning the scripture explains one doing away with the lust of the flesh, the

pride of life, and the desire of the eyes (1 John 2:16-“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and

the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”). Therefore, accepting

Jesus Christ is about subjecting your will to the will of God and allowing the righteousness of God to play

in your life, and be a blessing to all men. Not the righteousness of man, but the righteousness of Jesus

Christ should be reflected in your life. Indeed the justice of man is as filthy rag before God according to

71
Isaiah 64:6-“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags; and we all

do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”. Every good deed, every just

action, every kind of effort, and every righteous work of man are foul. "Oh! What a good man; he indeed

rescued that little child while he was at risk". I will say what he did was good, but it will sincerely amount

to nothing if he hasn’t accepted Jesus Christ into his life on the day of judgment.

We are going to discuss more elaborately the two mutual paths from Reverend Abuchi’s point of view:

Holiness to God

Righteousness to all Men

Holiness to God: This is about the instruction given by God to the Israelites, according to Leviticus

19:2-“Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I

the Lord your God am holy”. Concerning this understanding, one that is holy before God is also one that

love’s God. Holiness to God, therefore, is also with the commandment which says that "you should love

the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength".

Holiness to God implies a Christian love to God with everything about their life. Holiness to God has

more focus on the spirit than the body of a Christian. Someone might ask: what is holiness? Holiness is a

state of being holy; holy means something or someone dedicated to a divine purpose that is undefiled,

sacred, and sanctified. Just as health concerns the body, holiness is about the spirit first and then the body.

Holiness is simply the nature of God. You are to live a life that reflects the nature of God which is in

Jesus Christ.

Holiness covers both; if you are holy, your character and behaviour will be godly before God. You will be

able to exhibit life of discipline in your relationship with God, which are righteous, pure and true. You

will be living a holy life every day. A personal Christian relationship with God is a sacred relationship

that makes a Christian know and love God with all his heart. A Christian shares same love with Jesus

Christ which God has for His people. With this truth, holiness to God is a personal relationship that a

72
Christian has with God. One that is holy allows the Holy Spirit to coordinate his life: by allowing the

Holy Spirit show you what to do and when to pray, praise, worship, study God's word, fast, play, eat,

drink, etc. Being led by the Holy Spirit is a sincere life of humility and obedience to the glory of God. In

this way, one is living a disciplined life in subjection to the will of God by overcoming the works of the

flesh, and being wrought by God's righteousness to all men.

There are certain factors to note concerning holiness and it’s implications as a believer in Christ Jesus:

1. Separation from Worldly Influences: Holiness often involves a separation from worldly

influences and temptations. It's about making deliberate choices to distance oneself from

behaviors, attitudes, and practices that are contrary to God's principles.

2. Renewal of the Mind: Holiness also encompasses the renewal of the mind. It's about transforming

one's thought patterns and perspectives to align with God's truth. This involves the ongoing

process of changing how one thinks and perceives the world.

3. Purity of Heart: Holiness emphasizes the purity of the heart. It's about cultivating a heart that is

free from malice, bitterness, and impurity. It involves forgiveness, compassion, and a genuine

love for others.

4. Lifestyle of Worship: Holiness extends to a lifestyle of worship. It's not limited to church

gatherings but involves worshiping God in every aspect of life. This includes acknowledging

God's presence and sovereignty in daily activities and interactions.

5. Integrity and Honesty: A holy life is marked by integrity and honesty. It means living with moral

uprightness, being truthful, and maintaining ethical behavior in all circumstances.

6. Fruit of the Spirit: Holiness is also reflected in the fruit of the Spirit, as described in the Bible.

This includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-

control. These qualities are evidence of a transformed and holy life.

73
7. Impact on Others: Holiness is not a private pursuit; it has a ripple effect on others. A holy life can

inspire and influence those around us, leading them to consider their own relationship with God

and their journey towards holiness.

8. Grace and Transformation: Holiness is not achieved through sheer willpower but is a result of

God's grace and transformation. It's a partnership between the individual's desire to live a holy

life and God's work in their heart.

9. Eternal Perspective: Holiness often involves an eternal perspective. It means setting one's sights

on heavenly and eternal values rather than being overly focused on temporal and material

concerns.

Holiness is a multifaceted concept that encompasses various aspects of a Christian's life. It involves a

deep love for God, a commitment to living in alignment with His nature and principles, and a continuous

journey of transformation. Holiness is not an isolated or ritualistic practice but a way of life that impacts

how we relate to God, ourselves, and the world around us. It is an ongoing pursuit of becoming more like

Christ and reflecting His nature in all we do.

Righteousness to all men: A Christian that is approved holy before God is a Christian that is made

acceptable and made ready for the use of God's righteousness, and this is indeed how God calls and

prepares a Christian for a righteous work. Righteousness to all men is not man's righteousness to all men,

but it is God's righteousness to all men.

According to Isaiah 56:1-“Thus says the Lord: “Keep justice, and do righteousness, for soon my salvation

will come, and my righteousness is revealed.”

From the scripture above, we can see that righteousness was mentioned twice, but in two different

perspectives: it was first mentioned as a command (keep justice and do righteousness) to His people. The

command stated: keep justice and do righteousness which implies that the people should carry on with

74
proper judgment; men should carry on with right decisions. Men should practice righteousness and let the

leaders exercise righteous judgment.

However, this emphasizes that God wants man to do what is right first, before He comes in, for He has

given man a willing heart. Man is not created as a robot, God will intervene in the affairs of men because

of his love for Christ Jesus and for his glory.

According to that scripture, God wants man to seek and obey His commandments, and keep His laws in

obedience. This truth implies the righteous judgement God wants His people to demonstrate in the

community; and then the righteousness of God shall be revealed. The scripture Jeremiah 29:13-14a, also

says “You shall seek me and find me when you shall search for me with all your heart, and I will be

found”, meaning that God wants man to righteously seek Him, not only by prayers and fasting. But also

by studying His laws, His words, and by practice, doing what is right, then His actual righteousness will

be revealed.

An outstanding example is Cornelius, that has never known the righteousness of Christ, but Cornelius was

on his own a righteous man, and by the grace and mercy of God he was offered the grace of salvation and

the true righteousness of Christ Jesus. And now, reviewing the remaining statement from the scripture of

Isaiah 56:1b-“for soon my salvation will come.” When true righteousness is revealed: then God will

encompass you with His salvation (He will save you from darkness, captivity, strife, death, etc.). This

truth explains His marvellous light that he reveals to His children, in their lives and through them. Only if

you walk in the light will you be able to be a light to others yet to be in the light (if we do what is

righteous in Christ Jesus).

The difference between man's righteousness and God's righteousness is that man's righteousness is not

perfect (not complete according to Isaiah 64:6), but God's righteousness is perfect. For instance, if

Cornelius was exercising righteous judgment and refused to receive true salvation and righteousness,

which is in Christ Jesus, as it was offered by grace, will all his righteous acts still be counted as

75
righteousness unto salvation and eternal life before God? The answer is no because Jesus Christ is the

proper standard of God’s acceptable righteousness, which is by grace (John 3:16).

Therefore, in this way, as we live a holy life that is seen mainly by God, then the light of God in our body

will be revealed and shown to all men so that they can glorify God, which is in heaven (Matthew

5:16-“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father

which is in heaven.”) God indeed wants our body to be wrought for good results so that men can also

"see" the good works, the miracles, and the beautiful works that God does through his children physically.

God intends that His children bear fruits of righteousness and justice: to show compassion, right

leadership, honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, healing the sick, casting out demons, restoring the blind,

making the maimed whole; and allowing the fruits of the Holy Spirit to be revealed in our daily lives,

which are: love, faith, joy, peace, gentleness, meekness, temperance, kindness, and goodness.

Holiness and Righteousness in the Context of a Christian Community

1. Sanctification and Set-Apartness: Holiness involves the process of sanctification, where a

Christian is set apart for God’s purposes. This means dedicating one’s life to serving God and His

kingdom. The call to holiness is a call to be different from the world, to live by God’s standards

rather than conforming to worldly values.

2. The Role of Grace: Holiness is not attainable by human efforts alone; it requires the grace of

God. God’s grace empowers believers to live a holy life, transforming their hearts and minds. It’s

a reminder that holiness is a cooperative effort between God’s grace and the individual’s

willingness to follow God’s leading.

3. Repentance and Forgiveness: A vital aspect of holiness is repentance and forgiveness. When a

Christian falls short or sins, genuine repentance and seeking God’s forgiveness are crucial for

maintaining holiness. This process involves turning away from sinful behaviors and realigning

with God’s righteous path.

76
4. Practical Righteousness: Holiness isn’t confined to religious rituals; it encompasses practical

righteousness in daily life. This includes honesty in business dealings, integrity in relationships,

and ethical choices at work and in the community. Holiness should manifest in everyday actions

and decisions.

5. Walking in Love: Holiness is closely tied to love. The command to love one another, as Christ

loved us, is an integral part of holiness. This love should extend to all, including those who may

be considered enemies. Love is a demonstration of a heart transformed by God’s righteousness.

6. God’s Righteous Judgment: Holiness also involves acknowledging God’s righteous judgment.

Believers trust that God is the ultimate judge, and they place their confidence in His fairness and

justice. This perspective influences how Christians handle conflicts, disputes, and justice in

society.

7. Living as Ambassadors: Holiness positions Christians as ambassadors for Christ. They represent

God’s kingdom on earth and carry the responsibility of sharing the message of reconciliation.

This involves inviting others to experience the transformative power of God’s righteousness.

8. The Pursuit of Excellence: Holiness encourages a pursuit of excellence in all areas of life.

Christians are called to do their best in their studies, work, and service to others. This pursuit of

excellence reflects a commitment to honoring God in every endeavor.

9. Unity and Fellowship: Holiness fosters unity and fellowship among believers. It encourages

Christians to work together for the common good and to support one another in their spiritual

journeys. Unity within the body of Christ is a testament to God’s righteousness.

Holiness and righteousness are foundational principles in the Christian faith. They require God’s grace, a

commitment to practical righteousness, and a deep love for both God and others. Holiness is not a solitary

endeavor; it leads to unity, transformation, and a life set apart for God’s purposes.

77
CHAPTER 5
SPIRITUAL FORMATION: CHRISTIAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

2 Peter 3:18-“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the

glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”

78
Spiritual formation is a process of Christian growth and development that involves the intentional

nurturing of one's relationship with God and the transformation of one's inner being to reflect

Christlikeness. It is a journey that spans a lifetime and is at the heart of the Christian faith. Spiritual

formation is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey. It begins at the moment of conversion when a

person places their faith in Jesus Christ, but it continues as a process of growth and maturity throughout

one's life. Romans 12:2 encourages believers not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be

transformed by the renewing of their minds. Spiritual formation involves the continuous renewal of the

mind through the study of Scripture, prayer, meditation, and reflection. Prayer and meditation are

essential practices in spiritual formation. Through prayer, Christians communicate with God, seek His

guidance, and experience His presence. Meditation involves pondering and reflecting on God's Word,

allowing it to shape one's thoughts and actions.

Being part of a Christian community provides support and accountability in the spiritual formation

process. Fellowship with other believers, participation in church activities, and discipleship relationships

can encourage growth and maturity. Engaging in spiritual disciplines, such as fasting, solitude, worship,

and confession, helps in the development of a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. These

disciplines create space for God to work in one's life. Spiritual formation seeks not only to increase

knowledge but also to transform character. It is about becoming more Christ like, reflecting the virtues

and qualities of Jesus in one's daily life. Learning to listen to God is an essential aspect of spiritual

formation. This involves not only speaking to God in prayer but also quieting oneself to hear His voice

and receive guidance.

Service and acts of kindness toward others are vital in spiritual formation. Jesus emphasized the

importance of serving others, and it is through acts of service that Christians put their faith into action.

The Holy Spirit plays a significant role in spiritual formation. It is the Spirit who convicts, guides,

empowers, and transforms believers. Spiritual formation is a cooperative effort between the believer and

the Holy Spirit.

79
As individuals progress in their spiritual formation journey, they may experience various stages of

growth, such as awakening, purgation, illumination, and union. These stages involve deeper encounters

with God and increasing conformity to Christ. At the core of spiritual formation is the commandment to

love God with all one's heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love one's neighbor as oneself. Love is the

driving force behind Christian growth and development. Galatians 5:22-23-“And Enoch walked with God

after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch

were three hundred sixty and five years:” speaks of the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace,

patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities should be evident

in the life of a spiritually formed believer.

Spiritual formation is an ongoing process of Christian growth and development that involves nurturing

one's relationship with God, renewing the mind, engaging in spiritual disciplines, serving others, and

allowing the Holy Spirit to transform one's character. It is a journey of becoming more like Christ and

fulfilling the greatest commandments to love God and love one's neighbor.

Gradual Steps to Spiritual Growth and Development

Spiritual growth is a transformative journey that requires commitment, faith, and continuous effort. In the

Christian context, it is a process of becoming more Christ-like in character and deepening one's

relationship with God. This essay explores the gradual steps individuals can take on their spiritual

journey, emphasizing the significance of consistent progress.

1. Foundation in Scripture: The Bible serves as the foundational guide for spiritual growth. Starting with

regular reading and studying of scripture lays a sturdy groundwork. Engaging in personal or group Bible

study helps in understanding God's principles, gaining wisdom, and discerning His will for one's life.

Psalm 119:105-"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

80
2. Prayer and Communion: Prayer is the soul's communication with God. Establishing a habit of regular

prayer creates an intimate connection. Through prayer, Christians not only express their needs but also

seek guidance, confess sins, and cultivate gratitude.

Philippians 4:6-"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with

thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

3. Cultivating Virtues: Identifying virtues modelled by Christ, such as love, patience, kindness, and

humility, and intentionally cultivating them in daily life contributes to spiritual maturity. Actively

choosing love over judgment, kindness over harshness, and humility over pride fosters character

development.

Galatians 5:22-23-"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law."

4. Fellowship and Community: Engaging with fellow believers in a community of faith provides support,

encouragement, and accountability. Participating in worship, study groups, and fellowship activities

fosters a sense of belonging and stimulates spiritual growth.

Hebrews 10:24-25-"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting

to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the

Day drawing near."

5. Serving Others: Christ's teachings emphasize the importance of serving others. Engaging in acts of

kindness, charity, and selfless service aligns with the Christian call to love one's neighbor. Serving others

reflects Christ's love and helps break the focus on self.

Galatians 5:13-"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an

opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."

81
Therefore, Spiritual growth is a continuous journey, marked by intentional steps toward God. Through the

foundation of scripture, prayer, cultivation of virtues, fellowship, and service, Christians gradually unfold

the depth of their faith. The commitment to these gradual steps allows individuals to experience a

transformative and enduring relationship with God, contributing to their spiritual maturity and

development.

2 Peter 3:18-"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the

glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."

Spiritual Formation in the Lives of Certain Godly Leaders

We will explore the theme of spiritual formation in the lives of three prominent figures in the Bible

Samuel, Daniel and Jesus Christ. It delves into the early influences, prayerful beginnings, and

transformative journeys that shaped their spiritual growth and development.

Samuel:

The life and ministry of Samuel underwent Spiritual Formation and was established through prayer.

According to the scripture, Hannah, Samuel’s mother, prayed earnestly and made a covenant with God.

Despite having no children, she comprehended God’s will and entered into a covenant with Him.

Consequently, God accepted and answered her prayer. Samuel was received into the temple under the

guidance of Eli, the Priest. His Spiritual Formation commenced at a tender age within the confines of

God’s temple environment. From a young age, Samuel relished the presence of God (1 Samuel 3:3 - "And

ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid

down to sleep").

The Scripture in 1 Samuel 2:11b records, “the child ministered unto the Lord before Eli, the High Priest

of Israel.” Samuel was growing and developing in every core aspect of his life; his behavior, thoughts,

and feelings were taking shape. In 1 Samuel 2:18, it is mentioned, “But Samuel ministered before the

Lord as a child girded with a linen ephod.” This reveals that Samuel, even in his childhood, dressed as a

82
priest and ministered before the Lord. He underwent a unique transformation among his peers during that

period.

The Scripture discloses God’s plan concerning an individual He would raise to be a faithful priest, taking

the place of Eli and his two sons (1 Samuel 2:35 - "And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do

according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house, and he shall

walk before mine anointed forever"). God’s declaration to raise a faithful priest elucidates His intention to

ordain Samuel as a priest. God was willing to train Samuel to become a man of God in the roles of a

priest and prophet. He equips His servants to be fortified and prepared for ministry, providing them with a

distinctive calling.

The scripture explains that Samuel grew, and God was with him, signifying God’s concern for his

spiritual growth and development (1 Samuel 3:19 - "And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and

did let none of his words fall to the ground"). The same verse reveals that none of the words proclaimed

by Samuel in the name of the Lord fell to the ground, implying that God transformed Samuel into a

faithful priest. God is the agent of transformation for anyone undergoing spiritual training and discipline.

God also established Samuel before the people of Israel, and they recognized him as God’s Prophet (1

Samuel 3:20 - "And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a

prophet of the LORD").

However, according to God’s purpose and the needs of His people, Samuel was transformed to fulfill the

dual roles of a Priest (interceding and offering sacrifices) and a Prophet (proclaiming God’s intentions

and prophesying). Jeremiah 15:1 acknowledges the prayerful nature of Moses and Samuel - "Then said

the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this

people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth." Samuel emerged as a transformed leader, a man

of integrity, exercising God’s will before the people. Samuel demonstrates the power of God’s

transformative powers in many instances: At a particular turn of event Samuel offered a sucking lamb; as

he was offering a burnt offering unto God, a mighty thunder struck against the Philistine army and

83
discomfited them before the Israelites army. Another moment Samuel demonstrated God’s power as he

prayed and called upon God to reveal what wickedness the people of Israel have expressed in demanding

for a king. God responded to Samuel’s request with thunder and rain. The scripture 1 Samuel 12:18

recorded that the people feared God and Samuel - "So Samuel called unto the LORD, and the LORD sent

thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel."

Samuel’s journey of spiritual formation and divine preparation did not unfold in isolation; it was

intricately woven into the fabric of Israel’s history and God’s unfolding plan. His transformation from a

child minister to a recognized Prophet and Priest laid the foundation for a crucial chapter in Israel’s

spiritual trajectory. The significance of Samuel’s unique upbringing becomes even more apparent when

considering the contrasting backdrop of Eli’s flawed leadership and the corruption within his priestly

lineage. Samuel, in contrast, emerged as a beacon of righteousness, a testament to God’s ability to raise

individuals untainted by the prevalent moral decay. The divine declaration foretelling Samuel’s role as a

faithful priest was not a mere appointment; it was a strategic move in the divine narrative. Through

Samuel, God aimed to restore the sanctity of the priesthood and provide a righteous intercessor for His

people. Samuel’s dual roles exemplified the holistic nature of his service, seamlessly blending the

responsibilities of a spiritual guide and a mediator between God and His people.

The unwavering commitment of Samuel to God’s will is evident not only in his personal growth but also

in his interactions with the nation. His unyielding dedication to truth and justice was a direct result of the

transformative power of God’s guidance. This steadfastness positioned him as a key figure during critical

junctures in Israel’s history, such as the anointing of Saul as king and later, David. Samuel’s influence

extended beyond the confines of the temple; he played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the nation.

His prayers, like those of Moses, carried weight before God, emphasizing the profound impact of a life

dedicated to communion with the divine. The acknowledgment of Samuel as a man of God and a

trustworthy leader further solidifies the narrative of God actively working through individuals who submit

84
to His guidance. In the broader biblical context, Samuel’s story becomes a testament to God’s redemptive

plan and the transformative power embedded in a life moulded by prayer, obedience, and unwavering

commitment to God’s purpose. His legacy endures as a reminder that God continues to raise individuals

for specific roles in advancing His kingdom, drawing them into a transformative journey that goes beyond

personal growth to shape the destiny of nations.

Daniel:

Daniel's spiritual journey of transformation began in his childhood, when he was among the young men

taken captive from the Northern Kingdom of Israel to exile in Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar II had

specifically selected these individuals based on their intelligence, appearance, and overall suitability for

royal service (Daniel 1:3-4-“And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should

bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no

blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding

science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the

learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans”). As Daniel 1:4 reveals, God had already equipped Daniel with

remarkable qualities: he was handsome, skilled, wise, knowledgeable, and well-spoken. This early

indication of God's favor upon Daniel suggests that his spiritual formation had begun even in his youth.

God's discipline in Daniel's life was evident when he refused the king's delicacies, opting instead for a

simple diet of vegetables and water (Daniel 1:8-14-“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not

defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he

requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into

favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I

fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces

85
worse liking than the children which are of your sort? Then shall ye make me endanger my head to the

king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah,

Mishael, and Azariah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and

water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children

that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to

them in this matter, and proved them ten”). This act of integrity and self-control demonstrated Daniel's

unwavering commitment to God, even in the face of temptation and potential consequences.

Daniel's spiritual formation extended beyond his personal life, shaping him into a man of God who was

also an integral part of a supportive fellowship. God brought together Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and

Abednego, granting them exceptional knowledge, skill, and understanding (Daniel 1:17-“As for these

four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had

understanding in all visions and dreams”). This fellowship provided mutual support and encouragement

as they navigated the challenges of exile and served God faithfully. The Scripture clearly states, "Daniel

was found wiser than all the magicians and enchanters of the kingdom" (Daniel 1:20-“And in all matters

of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the

magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm”), highlighting God's special favor upon him. Daniel's

wisdom and discernment were not merely intellectual; they were rooted in his deep spiritual connection

with God.

Daniel's humility and unwavering faith were further demonstrated when he and his three companions

refused to worship an idol erected by King Nebuchadnezzar II (Daniel 3:16-20). Despite the threat of

death, they remained steadfast in their obedience to God, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to

their faith. God's acknowledgment of Daniel's righteousness is evident in Ezekiel 14:14 and 20, where he

is mentioned alongside Noah and Job as exemplary righteous men. This recognition further underscores

Daniel's exceptional character and the depth of his spiritual transformation. Daniel's steadfastness in his

faith extended throughout his life. Even during the reign of King Darius, when a decree was issued

86
prohibiting worship of any god except Darius, Daniel remained defiant (Daniel 6:7-10). His unwavering

faith led to his being thrown into the lions' den, but God miraculously protected him, demonstrating the

power of faith and obedience.

Daniel's legacy extends far beyond his personal accomplishments. His unwavering faith, integrity,

wisdom, and humility have inspired generations to come, serving as a beacon of hope and guidance in

times of uncertainty and moral ambiguity. Daniel's life reminds us that true spiritual transformation is not

a fleeting moment of enlightenment but rather a lifelong journey of growth and refinement. It is a

continuous process of aligning our thoughts, actions, and desires with God's will, even when it requires us

to stand against the prevailing currents of society. Like Daniel, we too are called to be vessels of God's

light in a world often shrouded in darkness. We are called to embody the principles of righteousness,

integrity, and wisdom in our daily lives, demonstrating the transformative power of faith through our

actions.

In a world that often glorifies self-interest and material pursuits, Daniel's unwavering commitment to

God's principles serves as a stark reminder of the true source of fulfillment and lasting joy. His story

challenges us to re-evaluate our priorities and seek meaning in something greater than ourselves. Daniel's

life also teaches us the importance of community and fellowship in our spiritual journey. The supportive

bond he shared with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego provided strength and encouragement, reminding

us that we are not meant to navigate the challenges of life alone. As we reflect on Daniel's remarkable

journey, let us draw inspiration from his unwavering faith, integrity, and wisdom. Let us strive to embody

these qualities in our own lives, becoming beacons of light and righteousness in a world that desperately

needs them.

Jesus Christ:

The spiritual formation of Jesus Christ started with the New Covenant. The prophet Isaiah provided an

understanding of the type of training and growth that Jesus Christ underwent from his childhood. Isaiah

87
7:14 and 15 explained the coming of Jesus Christ through a virgin, and the child's name shall be called

Emmanuel. Verse 15 explained that the child Emmanuel shall be fed with butter and honey, that he may

know how to refuse evil and choose good. One might wonder why the scripture mentioned butter and

honey instead of butter and bread or honey and wild locust. Isaiah was explaining how Jesus Christ, as a

child, would be trained and undergo spiritual formation from his youth. Butter and honey signified how

Jesus Christ would be disciplined. The child Jesus Christ would be fed with butter (curd) to refuse evil,

and he would also be fed with honey to choose good. The butter mentioned is not the processed butter or

margarine we consume with bread. What the scripture meant by butter is curd, stirred milk from a cow or

goat. It is neither sweet nor bitter but sour and tangy, which is still acceptable to eat. Little children easily

reject it when there are sweeter food choices before them. Honey, on the other hand, is sweet and

acceptable. God prepared wonderful parents for Jesus Christ to train him. Jesus Christ was trained to

refuse evil by undergoing a certain level of chastening and discipline from his parents. He was also

trained to accept good as his parents encouraged and supported his right choices. God can also use godly

parents to make his servants experience spiritual formation and growth. This serves as a lesson and a

method of discipline that parents can instil in their family and train their children. When your child does

something wrong, you can chasten the child directly by feeding them a food with a sour taste, warning

them that they received a sour taste because of their wrong actions, and praying and encouraging them

that you will give them delicious food if they do what is right. You can also use another strategy with the

same idea. Jesus Christ went through parental training and discipline, as revealed in Isaiah 7:14.

The scripture, according to Luke 2:52, narrates that Jesus Christ increased in wisdom, stature, and favor

with God and man. That particular verse summarizes the spiritual formation of Jesus Christ. The text

explains Jesus Christ's cognitive mental realm forming as he increases in wisdom; his physical realm

forming, consisting of his body and health as he increases in stature; finally, his spiritual realm forming,

consisting of his relationship with God and his attitude with man. Jesus Christ learned humility and

88
obedience under the authority of his earthly parents. He was not exempt from parental discipline. The

Bible explains how Jesus Christ, at the age of 12, went with his parents to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast,

but on their way back home, they unknowingly left Jesus Christ. He decided to tarry in the temple,

learning and asking questions with the doctors and teachers of the law. His parents were worried, but

when they found Jesus Christ, they were amazed that he was comfortable at the temple learning in the

midst of doctors and teachers. Luke 2:51 revealed that Jesus went back home with his parents and was

subject unto them, implying that he was submissive and obedient to his parents. Jesus Christ was under

human authority as well as under God’s grace and guidance.

The propeller of Spiritual Formation is the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit is the is the Spirit of Jesus Christ

and the grace of God unto everyone that believes and receives Jesus Christ. Spiritual Formation is eternal

under the gracious hand of God. Jesus Christ’s ministry proves the transformation a person under the

grace of God usually experience while undergoing Spiritual Formation. Jesus Christ ministry exercises

true dominance in every areas of practice as witness in his acts from the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke

and John. Jesus Christ is our example for every Christian. To attain Spiritual Maturity. The growth and

development processes of Jesus Christ should be inculcated. Christians should learn to study the word of

God daily, meditate and practice it, so that they can know Jesus Christ and grow spiritually. Fellowship

with Jesus and other like minded brethren in Christ will as well help in ones spiritual growth.

As Jesus transitioned into adulthood, his commitment to humility and obedience continued to shape his

interactions and relationships. The Gospel narratives illustrate his unwavering dedication to fulfilling not

only divine purposes but also earthly duties, including honoring his parents. In the broader context of

spiritual formation, Jesus Christ's life serves as a paradigm for believers seeking to align their will with

God's plan. His submission to parental authority stands as a testament to the harmonious integration of

spiritual principles into daily living. As Christians grow and develop in every realm of their livelihood,

they will gradually become more like Jesus Christ as they abide by these spiritual processes. The nature

of Jesus will eventually dominate their way of life over their selfish Adamic nature. The nature of Jesus

89
will be predominant in their lifestyle and relationships with people in their family, business, community,

and other settings.

Beyond the familial sphere, Jesus' interactions with various individuals exemplify a compassionate and

inclusive approach. His teachings and actions emphasize love, forgiveness, and the pursuit of

righteousness, providing a comprehensive guide for spiritual growth and ethical conduct. The culmination

of Jesus Christ's earthly journey on the cross epitomizes the ultimate act of obedience to the divine will,

demonstrating a profound commitment to the redemption and salvation of humanity. This pivotal event

underscores the sacrificial nature inherent in spiritual formation and the transformative power of aligning

one's life with God's purpose.

Therefore, the life of Jesus Christ represents a holistic and transformative process of spiritual formation,

marked by humility, obedience, compassion, and sacrificial love. His example continues to inspire and

guide individuals on their own journeys of faith and growth.

90
CHAPTER 6

EXERCISING TRUE DOMINANCE

Ephesians 2:10-“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath

before ordained that we should walk in them.”

In relation to spiritual authority, dominance refers to the exercise of power, influence, and leadership

within a religious or spiritual context. It involves individuals or institutions assuming positions of

authority and responsibility over matters of faith, belief, and practice. Here's a breakdown of dominance

in relation to spiritual authority.

Servant Leadership:

Jesus Christ, as the central figure in Christianity, exemplified servant leadership. He taught his disciples

that true greatness lies in serving others rather than seeking power and control over them. In Mark 10:45,

Jesus said, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a

ransom for many." This statement encapsulates the essence of servant leadership and sets a profound

example for Christian leaders to follow.

91
You therefore have to be a servant leader like Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ reveals what true dominance

implies, especially in his character and relationship with his neighbors. You need to read and study the

word of God. You need to study the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, especially the historical section of

Jesus ministry and teachings. As a Christian that is walking on the path of righteousness you should be

armored with the lessons from the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Servant leadership is a leadership style that focuses on the well-being and growth of others. It emphasizes

humility, selflessness, and a deep commitment to serve. Rather than exerting dominance for personal

gain, servant leaders prioritize the needs and interests of those they lead. They see themselves as

facilitators, catalysts, and enablers of others' success and fulfilment.

Jesus' words and actions throughout his ministry reflect the principles of servant leadership. He

consistently demonstrated a servant's heart, putting the needs of others before his own. He healed the sick,

comforted the afflicted, and showed compassion to those society deemed unworthy. Jesus even washed

the feet of his disciples, an act that symbolized humility and service.

Humility is the initial stage in the process of realizing true dominance. You need to conquer the spirit of

pride. Everyone born on earth inherits the spirit of pride from Adam. Unless one is born again in Christ

Jesus, true humility will not manifest that should lead such a person to true dominance in Jesus Christ.

Christian dominance, in the context of servant leadership, involves using one's position of influence and

authority to serve and uplift others rather than dominating or subjugating them. It recognizes that

leadership is not about lording over others but about leading with love, humility, and a genuine desire to

serve.

You can get to the point of uplifting and helping many to come to the light like Jesus Christ did. When

you have activated the life of Christ in your heart, then true dominance will manifest in every areas of

your relationship and interaction with people and your environment

92
Servant leaders understand that their authority and influence come with a responsibility to care for and

nurture those under their guidance. They use their position to empower others, foster growth, and create

an environment where individuals can thrive and contribute their best. Instead of seeking dominance

through power struggles or manipulation, they seek to uplift, encourage, and inspire those around them.

By embracing servant leadership, You can transform relationships, communities, and organizations. As a

servant leader you can create a culture of trust, collaboration, and mutual respect. Rather than instilling

fear or enforcing compliance, you can inspire others to rise to their potential and use their gifts for the

greater good.

Servant leaders recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. They understand that each

person is created in the image of God and possesses unique talents, perspectives, and experiences.

Therefore, servant leaders approach their role with a deep respect for the intrinsic value of those they

lead. They listen attentively, seek to understand, and affirm the voices and contributions of others.

Christian dominance in servant leadership also involves a commitment to justice and fairness. Servant

leaders advocate for the marginalized, oppressed, and disadvantaged, working towards creating a more

just and equitable society. They challenge systems of injustice, discrimination, and inequality, using their

influence to bring about positive change and promote the values of the Kingdom of God.

Furthermore, as a servant leader you can embrace the transformative power of love. Love lies at the core

of Christian teachings, and servant leaders exemplify this love through their words, actions, and

relationships. They demonstrate compassion, forgiveness, and empathy, fostering an environment of care

and support.

As a servant leader you should understand that your leadership is not about building your own empires or

amassing personal achievements. Rather, you should recognize that true fulfilment and significance come

from serving others and making a positive difference in their lives. Therefore you can find joy and

fulfilment in the growth and success of those you lead.

93
Servant leadership requires a constant commitment to personal growth and self-awareness. Leaders must

continually examine their motives, attitudes, and behaviors to ensure they align with the principles of

servant leadership. They seek feedback, embrace vulnerability, and cultivate a mindset of continuous

learning and improvement.

It offers a transformative and counter-cultural approach to leadership that is rooted in humility, service,

and love. Christian dominance in servant leadership invites leaders to step away from the pursuit of

personal gain, recognition, and control and instead focus on the well-being and growth of those they

serve.

As a servant leader you should understand that your role is not about asserting dominance over others but

about empowering and equipping them to reach their full potential. You are blessed with the ability to

create environments where individuals are encouraged to develop their talents, explore their passions, and

contribute meaningfully to their communities. By nurturing and empowering others, servant leaders foster

a culture of shared leadership, collaboration, and collective impact.

Christian dominance in servant leadership also involves embracing vulnerability and authenticity. Servant

leaders are willing to acknowledge their own limitations and mistakes, creating a safe space for others to

do the same. They value transparency and honesty, building trust and fostering deeper connections within

their communities.

Moreover, servant leaders recognize the importance of servant followership. They understand that

leadership is not a one-way street but a reciprocal relationship based on mutual respect and trust. They

listen to the needs and concerns of their followers, invite feedback and input, and work collaboratively

towards shared goals.

Humility:

Humility is a central virtue in Christian teachings and is deeply intertwined with the concept of true

dominance. From the Christian perspective, humility involves recognizing one's own limitations,

94
weaknesses, and dependence on God. It is an acknowledgement that true greatness comes not from

asserting dominance or seeking personal gain but from a posture of humble service towards God and

others.

The Bible is replete with teachings on humility, emphasizing its importance in the life of a believer.

Proverbs 22:4 states, "Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life." Here,

humility is presented as a virtue that not only leads to spiritual rewards but also brings honor and

abundance in life.

As a Christian, you are to live a life of humility with all men and God. Your humility with men should be

in reverence to God. You can gain access into God’s glorious riches by humility. Be humble not only for

men to recognize your lowliness. Humility is not an act, it is a virtue an exemplary attitude that can be

governed in your life by the Holy Spirit.

One of the most profound passages on humility in the New Testament is found in Philippians 2:3-4,

where the Apostle Paul urges believers to prioritize humility and the interests of others. It states, "Do

nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not

looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." This teaching challenges the

pursuit of dominance for self-interest and encourages a mindset of selfless service and putting others'

needs before our own.

True dominance from a Christian perspective requires a shift from self-centeredness to an attitude of

humility. It involves recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of their

status, abilities, or accomplishments. Christian dominance emphasizes treating others with respect,

valuing their opinions, and seeking their well-being.

Jesus Christ himself exemplified humility throughout his life and ministry. He demonstrated this through

his interactions with people from all walks of life, including the marginalized, the outcasts, and the

95
sinners. Jesus' humble nature is evident in his birth in a humble stable, his choice of disciples from

ordinary backgrounds, and his willingness to serve others, even to the point of washing their feet.

Jesus' ultimate act of humility was his sacrificial death on the cross. Despite being the Son of God, he

willingly laid down his life for the redemption of humanity. This act of humility and selflessness not only

demonstrated his love for mankind but also set an example for his followers to emulate in their own lives

and leadership.

Learn from the attitude of Jesus Christ. He was exemplary in humility. He attended to those that were

regarded as sinners and dined with them and brought them to salvation. You have Jesus Christ teachings

and exemplary lifestyle in the scriptures, read and let the Holy Spirit guide you to true dominance in Jesus

Christ.

Humility in Christian dominance involves a surrender of personal pride and ego. It requires you to

acknowledge your own limitations and to seek guidance, wisdom, and empowerment from God. It fosters

an attitude of openness and teachability, allowing you to learn from others and to grow in their

understanding and practice of servant leadership.

True humility also enables you to recognize and appreciate the strengths and contributions of others. It

creates an atmosphere of inclusivity, where each individual is valued and encouraged to contribute their

unique gifts and perspectives. In this way, humility in leadership fosters collaboration, teamwork, and a

sense of shared purpose.

Humility is not a sign of weakness or passivity but rather a strength that comes from a deep sense of

security in one's identity in Christ. It is an inner transformation that allows you to lead with grace,

compassion, and integrity. By humbling yourself, you create an environment of trust and authenticity

where people feel safe to express themselves, share ideas, and grow personally and spiritually.

Humility also plays a crucial role in resolving conflicts and fostering reconciliation. In James 4:6, it is

written, "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but shows favor

96
to the humble.'" This verse highlights the significance of humility in seeking God's favor and promoting

healthy relationships.

When leaders approach conflicts with humility, they are more inclined to listen actively, seek

understanding, and pursue resolution through reconciliation rather than dominance. Humility also allows

leaders to admit their mistakes and seek forgiveness when they have acted in a manner inconsistent with

servant leadership. It enables them to acknowledge their shortcomings, take responsibility for their

actions, and make amends, fostering an environment of grace and restoration.

Furthermore, humility in Christian dominance extends beyond individual leaders to the structures and

systems within religious organizations. It calls for you to examine the distribution of power, dismantle

hierarchical barriers, and promote a culture of shared leadership and accountability. By humbly

recognizing that all members of the community have unique gifts and insights to offer, you can create a

space where everyone's voice is valued and where decisions are made in a collective and inclusive

manner.

Ethical Use of Power:

Christians are not exempt from holding positions of power or authority. However, they are called to

exercise such power in a manner that aligns with the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. From the

Christian perspective, true dominance involves using power responsibly, ethically, and in service to

others.

The Bible provides guidance on the ethical use of power and the responsibilities that come with it. Jesus

Christ himself emphasized the importance of servant leadership and the need to use power and authority

for the benefit of others. In Luke 22:26, Jesus said, "But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest

among you should be like the youngest and the one who rules like the one who serves." This teaching

challenges the conventional understanding of dominance and calls for a transformational approach to

leadership.

97
Christian dominance necessitates a shift in mindset from a self-centered focus to a focus on the well-

being of others. It involves recognizing that power is a tool to be wielded with humility, compassion, and

justice. It means using one's influence to promote righteousness, equality, and the dignity of every

individual.

The ethical use of power requires you to act with integrity, accountability, and transparency. You are

called to be role models, displaying a consistent alignment between your words and actions. This requires

you to carefully consider the consequences of your decisions and to act in a manner that upholds ethical

standards and moral values.

Christian dominance involves being mindful of the impact of your decisions on others. It requires you to

engage in active listening, seeking diverse perspectives, and considering the interests and needs of all

stakeholders. It is a leadership approach that values inclusivity, participation, and shared decision-

making.

Leaders who exercise ethical dominance recognize that their authority is not for personal gain or the

suppression of others but for the greater good of the community. They actively seek opportunities to

empower others, to mentor and develop emerging leaders, and to create a culture of trust, collaboration,

and growth; therefore, you are called to be such a leader with these qualities.

Christian leaders are called to promote justice and to stand against oppression and inequality. They are

tasked with using their power to challenge systems that perpetuate injustice and to advocate for the rights

and well-being of the marginalized and vulnerable. Proverbs 31:8-9 urges, "Speak up for those who

cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the

rights of the poor and needy." This biblical mandate compels Christian leaders to address social issues

and to work towards a more just and compassionate society.

Ethical dominance requires you to prioritize love and compassion in their interactions. As Christian

leaders, you are called to treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and fairness, irrespective of their

98
social status, race, gender, or background. You are to emulate the love of Christ in your relationships,

seeking to understand, support, and uplift those under your care.

You must also be aware of the potential pitfalls of power and guard against the temptations that come

with it. Power can easily corrupt, leading to abuses, manipulation, and the exploitation of others. It is

crucial for you to cultivate self-awareness, regularly examine their motives and intentions, and invite

accountability and feedback from trusted individuals.

Leaders who wield power ethically are willing to acknowledge their own limitations and recognize when

they have made mistakes. They humbly accept responsibility for their actions and seek reconciliation and

restoration when their use of power has caused harm or injustice.

Furthermore, ethical dominance requires you to continuously develop your leadership skills, knowledge,

and character. You must invest in personal growth, seeking wisdom and guidance from Scripture, prayer,

and the teachings of Christ. You can engage in self-reflection and pursue opportunities for learning and

development to enhance their leadership effectiveness. By continually growing and deepening your

understanding of servant leadership, You can navigate the complexities of power with wisdom, grace, and

humility.

In addition to personal growth, You are called to cultivate a culture of ethical dominance within your

organizations or communities. You should establish policies and practices that promote fairness, justice,

and accountability. You can encourage open communication, transparency, and integrity in all aspects of

decision-making and operations.

As a Christian leaders, you can also recognize the importance of fostering a sense of purpose and shared

values within their teams. You must create a vision that aligns with biblical principles and inspires others

to work towards a common goal. You are to lead by example, demonstrating ethical behavior and

encouraging others to do the same.

99
Furthermore, ethical dominance extends beyond the boundaries of one's immediate sphere of influence.

Therefore, you are called to be agents of positive change in the broader society. You can engage in

advocacy and social activism, leveraging your influence to address systemic issues and promote the

values of compassion, justice, and equality.

Love and Sacrifice:

Love is a foundational principle in the Christian faith, and it is intricately linked to the concept of true

dominance. Christians are called to love God with all their being and to love their neighbors as

themselves. This commandment, given by Jesus, encapsulates the essence of Christian dominance and

provides a framework for how believers should exercise their influence and authority.

In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus stated, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul

and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your

neighbor as yourself.'" These words highlight the centrality of love in the Christian life and underscore

the significance of love in the exercise of dominance.

Christian dominance is not about asserting power or control over others for personal gain. Instead, it is

rooted in selfless love and sacrificial service. It is a leadership approach that prioritizes the well-being,

growth, and flourishing of others. It involves actively seeking the best interests of those being served,

regardless of their social status, ethnicity, or background.

True dominance from a Christian perspective is exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Jesus demonstrated a love that went beyond words and encompassed sacrificial actions. He selflessly laid

down his life for the redemption of humanity, displaying the ultimate act of love and sacrifice.

As Christian leaders, you are called to emulate Christ's example by embodying a love that transcends self-

interest and extends to all people. This love can compel you to be compassionate, empathetic, and

attentive to the needs of others. love can drive you to actively seek ways to uplift, encourage, and support

those under your influence.

100
Sacrifice is an integral part of love and true dominance. You are to be willing to make personal sacrifices,

relinquishing your own comfort, desires, and ambitions for the greater good of others. This may involve

sacrificing time, resources, and personal preferences in order to serve and meet the needs of those you

lead.

Christian dominance rooted in love and sacrifice challenges conventional notions of dominance that

prioritize personal gain, prestige, and control. It emphasizes the importance of servant leadership, where

leaders use their power and authority to empower, equip, and enable others to thrive.

Love in the context of Christian dominance also extends to addressing social injustices and advocating for

the marginalized and oppressed. It requires leaders to actively work towards dismantling systems of

inequality and discrimination. This involves challenging societal norms, promoting fairness and equality,

and speaking out against injustice.

As a Christian leader, you should exercise love and sacrificial dominance that creates environments that

foster collaboration, trust, and mutual respect. You are to prioritize healthy relationships, valuing the

unique contributions and perspectives of each individual. You are to cultivate a sense of belonging and

create spaces where people feel safe, heard, and valued.

The practice of love and sacrificial dominance also involves forgiveness and reconciliation. Christian

leaders recognize that conflicts and mistakes are inevitable, but they approach these challenges with grace

and a desire for restoration. They model forgiveness and reconciliation, seeking to reconcile relationships

and heal divisions.

Moreover, love and sacrificial dominance call Christian leaders to address the spiritual needs of those

they serve. They seek to guide individuals in their spiritual journeys, helping them grow in their

relationship with God and deepening their understanding of Christian values and teachings. They provide

mentorship, spiritual guidance, and support, ensuring that the holistic well-being of those under their care

is nurtured.

101
Love and sacrifice are foundational to true dominance from a Christian perspective. Christian leaders are

called to love God and others with selfless, sacrificial love. They prioritize the well-being and growth of

those they lead, seeking their best interests and serving them with compassion, humility, and grace. This

love goes beyond mere words and requires tangible actions that demonstrate genuine care for the welfare

of others.

As a Christian leader who embraces love and sacrificial dominance, you should understand that your role

is not about personal glory or power but about reflecting the love of Christ to the world. You are to

recognize that your authority is a form of stewardship entrusted to you by God, and you must seek to use

it in a manner that honors Him and benefits those you serve.

In practicing sacrificial dominance, you are to make personal sacrifices for the greater good. You should

willingly lay aside your own desires, ambitions, and comforts in order to serve others wholeheartedly.

This may involve sacrificing personal time, resources, or even career opportunities for the sake of

meeting the needs of others.

Furthermore, love and sacrificial dominance extend beyond individual acts of service. You can

encompass a broader commitment to justice, compassion, and advocacy for the marginalized and

oppressed. You are called to use your influence and power to challenge systemic injustices and work

towards a more equitable society. You can actively seek to address issues of poverty, discrimination, and

inequality, using their platform to amplify the voices of the voiceless and champion the cause of justice.

Love and sacrificial dominance also involve forgiveness and reconciliation. Christian leaders understand

that conflicts and mistakes are inevitable in any community or organization. However, they approach

these challenges with a spirit of forgiveness and seek to promote reconciliation and healing. They strive to

create an environment where individuals feel safe to acknowledge their mistakes, seek forgiveness, and

work towards restoration and reconciliation.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the exploration of the power of identity underscores the fundamental role identity plays in

providing balance, purpose, and direction to our lives. It serves as the cornerstone that reveals our purpose

and allows the freedom to imbue meaning into our existence. Understanding identity is not merely

acknowledging physical attributes but delving into the deeper realms of awareness, encompassing mental

and spiritual aspects. Moving on to the importance of mindfulness in building healthy relationships, the

emphasis on being conscious and aware becomes pivotal. Mindfulness, particularly in the context of

relationships, involves spiritual, mental, and physical growth. It highlights the necessity of nurturing not

only oneself but also being mindful of others, emphasizing the significance of cordial relationships and

fellowship of shared interests. Delving into the three realms of consciousness — spirit, mind, and body —

the concept of awareness takes center stage. Being spiritually, mentally, and physically conscious of our

surroundings is emphasized as a key aspect of a fulfilling life. It challenges individuals to dominate their

realms rather than be controlled by them, promoting a balanced and appealing lifestyle.

The discussion on spiritual formation as a process of Christian growth and development underscores the

lifelong journey of intentionally nurturing one’s relationship with God. Spiritual formation involves

continuous renewal of the mind through prayer, meditation, engagement in Christian community, spiritual

disciplines, and acts of service. The goal is not just to increase knowledge but to transform character,

becoming more Christ like and reflecting the virtues of Jesus in daily life. In the context of exercising true

dominance within spiritual authority, the concept of servant leadership emerges. Jesus Christ serves as the

ultimate example, highlighting the essence of leadership lying in serving others. True dominance, in this

sense, is not about seeking power and control but about sacrificial service. To embody this, a Christian is

encouraged to study the teachings and ministry of Jesus, following the path of righteousness.

104
In essence, the journey from discovering the power of identity to exercising true dominance is a holistic

exploration of self-awareness, relational mindfulness, conscious living, spiritual growth, and servant

leadership. Together, these aspects form a comprehensive guide for individuals seeking a purposeful,

balanced, and Christ like life.

SOLEMN REFLECTION

You stand at a crossroad, a moment of profound reckoning. Your life, like an open book, unfolds before

you, and the pages reveal the choices made, the paths taken. In this stillness, I implore you to pause, to

deeply consider the state of your soul. If you've not yet experienced the transformative power of being

born again in Christ, I earnestly urge you to ponder the eternal significance of this decision. Today, there

is an invitation echoing through the corridors of your heart – an invitation to repent, to turn away from the

fleeting allure of the world and embrace the enduring grace found in Jesus Christ, to experience True

Dominance, Jesus Christ dominating every spheres of your life.. The Father's arms are wide open, ready

to welcome you into a relationship that transcends the temporal and secures an everlasting inheritance. As

you reflect on the condition of your spirit, may you sense the gentle whisper calling you to a new life, a

life anchored in salvation and renewed purpose.

For those who once walked in the light but have found themselves wandering in the shadows, this

reflection is a reminder. You, too, are not beyond the reach of divine mercy and restoration. The

Shepherd's voice calls out to you, beckoning you to return, to rediscover the warmth of His embrace.

Perhaps the journey has led you astray, and the noise of the world drowned out the still, small voice that

once guided your steps. Yet, in this moment of solemn reflection, you're invited to retrace your path, to

rededicate your life to the One who is faithful and just to forgive. There is no condemnation, only a loving

invitation to come back home. The Father waits with arms wide open, ready to restore, renew, and

rekindle the flame that may have flickered but never fully extinguished. As you consider this call to

return, may your heart be stirred with the realization that the door is open, the invitation stands, and the

grace to start anew is abundantly available.

As you sincerely repent, pray, and seek God's presence for forgiveness and acceptance into the ark of

Christ's salvation, declare this text below personally as you read it with faith::

I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I recognize that my own efforts fall short, and I

humbly come before God in repentance.

I confess my sins before God, openly acknowledging those areas where I have fallen short of His

standards. I lay my shortcomings at the foot of the cross, seeking His forgiveness.

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that

He rose again. I place my trust in His finished work as the only means of salvation.

I invite Jesus into my life, not just as a concept or historical figure but as my Lord and personal Savior. I

open the door of my heart for Him to come in and reign over every aspect of my existence.

I renounce the hold of sin in my life. I declare that sin no longer has dominion over me, and I choose to

turn away from those things that separate me from God.

I surrender my will, desires, and plans to the lordship of Jesus Christ. I yield every area of my life – my

thoughts, actions, relationships, and future – to His guidance and authority.

I receive God's grace with gratitude, understanding that His forgiveness is freely given. I acknowledge

that I am a new creation in Christ, and His grace empowers me to live a life pleasing to Him.

I declare with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I proclaim His lordship over every

realm of my life – my spirit, mind, and body – and I align myself with His purposes and plans.

I commit to a daily walk with Jesus, through prayer, studying His Word, and fellowship with other

believers. I trust in His strength to guide me and His Spirit to empower me in my journey of faith.

In the name of Jesus, I seal this declaration. Amen.
