At the end of the 60-minute period, the students should be able to:
• Analyze the themes and symbolism in "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost.
• Identify and analyze the use of figurative language in "Sonnet 18" by William
Shakespeare.
• Demonstrate their understanding of the poems by creating a comparative
analysis of the themes and literary devices used in both poems.

IV. Assignment:
For homework, students will write a comparative analysis essay that explores
the themes and literary devices used in both "The Road Not Taken" and "Sonnet 18."
The essay should highlight the similarities and differences between the poems. The
essay should be structured with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
V. Assessment:
Assess students' understanding of the poems and their ability to analyze and
compare them by evaluating the quality and depth of their comparative analysis
