Video Assistant Referee

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in football began in 2016 when FIFA trialled VAR
for the first time in a major international tournament, namely the FIFA World Cup
in Russia. This technology was introduced with the aim of assisting referees in
making crucial decisions during matches. And in 2017, IFAB (International
Football Association Board), the official body that determines football regulations,
officially allowed the use of VAR in football matches in various leagues and
competitions around the world.

The development of Video Assistant Referee

(VAR) in football represents a significant
revolution in changing the way decisions are made
during matches. With the application of advanced
technology such as increased camera resolution,
transparency of the decision-making process,
better VAR protocol standards, and the
development of VAR applications in various
competitions, VAR has made a major contribution to increasing fairness and
integrity in the world of football. While still a matter of debate, the overall
advancement of VAR has created a stronger foundation for ensuring more accurate
and fair decisions in every match.

With all these developments, it can be concluded that VAR has undergone a
significant transformation in making a positive contribution to integrity and
fairness in football. Although there is still debate about some of VAR's decisions, it
cannot be denied that this technology has become an important element in the
evolution of the game and football experience in this modern era.
