Summary of Observation

Sports have always been my love, but I am unable to coach due to a ligament in my left

knee. As a result, I watched one of the Tafuna Elementary School coaches. I looked at our

basketball coach. Mrs. Lene Chanel, our basketball coach, inspired me deeply when she said that

she was "a female in a man's job." Before taking on the position of coach, Mrs. Chanel taught.

Twelve of her twenty-seven years were devoted mentoring. She began participating in individual

sports at our school, and because of the support of the community, she has won several district

championships. I was really motivated to observe her because it made me aware of the kind of

leader she was. She saw everyone equally and was well valued at our school. She expressed her

gratitude to the cafeteria workers as well, saying, "They are the most significant individuals in

the entire school." They are my lifeblood."I think a leader has to be unselfish, and Mrs. Lene

exemplifies that.

To sum up, encouraging introspection within the leadership group is critical to both

individual and organizational development. It is Mrs. Chanel's responsibility as a coach to lead

by example, support, and inculcate reflective behaviors in the leadership team. Using reflective

tools, establishing expectations, fostering a positive atmosphere, rewarding accomplishments,

and modeling reflective habits are some ways to encourage reflection. By using these techniques,

coaches may encourage a reflective culture within the leadership team that leads to development

on both a personal and professional level.

PSEL1:

Plan, organize, carry out, and assess strategies to realize the school's goal. She was responsible

for building Tafuna Elementary School's new sports facility. The youngsters wanted more, so
they began out as a track team. She made it happen with community support. Mrs. Chanel

envisioned the school and saw it through to completion. Develop, promote, and articulate

fundamental values that characterize the school's environment and emphasize the need for a

child-centered curriculum; high standards and student support; fairness, inclusivity, and social

justice; transparency, compassion, and trust; and ongoing improvement (NPBEA, 2015).
