HISTORY
• rhythmic gymnastics grew out of the
ideas of Jean-Georges Noverre,
Francois Delsarte, and Rudolf Bode

• started as an independent
competitive sport in the early 1950’s by
the Russians.

• the first rhythmic gymnastics world


championship was held in Europe in
1963

• presently, this sport takes part in a lot


of competitions, including the Olympic
Games.
