 Thesis Statement

This move is all about the reflection of love, pain, and acceptance. The protagonist
girl named Fei Fei who is extremely intelligent girl with the fascination of the moon and her
mother’s story about Chang’e the immortal moon goddess. Fei Fei’s story is all about
Chang’e and her lover Hou Yi. This is officially tragic tale of lovers, where one quit night the
shadows of bandits cross to attack the adobe of Chang’e the her lover. In order to keep them
out of time evil clutches of bandits, Chang’e immediately drinks the both pills. After she
drinks it, she becomes a goddess but unfortunately, as a goddess there is no reason for her
to stay on Earth. She fly all the way to the moon and sadly away from her lover, Hou Yi, Jade
Rabbit is the only one who keep her company in the moon. According to the myth, Chang’e
the waiting for the day Hou Yi will join her.

Chang’e and Fei Fei have the same pain in which they are not easily to move on in
their past memory about there love one’s. The story beautifully shows two characters, Fei
Fei is mourning the loss of her mother while Chang’e on the other hand is mourning the
loss of her lover. Fei Fei has a extremely close bond with her family and when her mother
dies, it is just her and her father. She pretend to be strong so that her father will not notice
the truth about the pain behind her when her mother passed out. As year passed by, Fei
Fei’s father introduce Mrs. Zhong to her. She was so disappointed to her Dad, she couldn’t
stare Mrs. Zhong for so long. Although, everytime she see her, her blood boiled. In this
scene, she meets Chin, a small son of Mrs. Zhong who is very energetic and believes he can
walk through walls like a bat. Fei Fei is immediately annoyed by him and she treated the
two antagonistic in which she glare an hostile attitude. Moreover, when she finds out the
plans of her father to remarrying, she stormed off away from her home. She hold on to the
memories of her mother and she thinks that her father remarrying means that he has
forgotten about her mother and the magical love they shared. To stop her father from
remarrying again and remind him about his “ true love “, Fei Fei plans to build a rocket to
the moon and to prove the existence of the moon goddess, Chang’e , just like her mother
told before she died.

When she arrives at Lunaria, the city where Chang’e built it, she instantly realizes
things are not easy as they think so. Fei Fei expect that Chang’e will be kind and gentle
goddess like what her mother told her, but unfortunately it was different from her mother
story. She see someone else who being manipulative and narcissistic. Chang’e tells Fei Fei in
order to bring back the picture which is the only evidence of existence of Chang’e, but first
she needs to find the gift. The gift is the only way to bring Hou Yi back and it is running out
of time. She will never see again the lover of her life if the moon dust runs out. Concealed to
know by Fei Fei, she has no idea in what is the gift is. So, she start her adventure to find the
gift along the way. At the end, she learned on how to face the feeling of loss to go back to her
senses that she need to move on and she learned to accept the fact.
