Subject: Applicability of Conformity of Production (COP) for CPCB II extended

manufacturing

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) notified

the revised emission limits for new engines used for power generating set (Genset) up to 800
kW Gross Mechanical Power vide notification - GSR 804 (E) dated 03.11.2022.

The notification GSR 804 (E) dated 03.11.2022 has been amended vide notification -
GSR 436 (E) dated 14.06.2023 and an OM dated 22.06.2023 issued by MoEF&CC in this
regard, granting exemption from the revised standards to the Genset and Genset Engines to
be manufactured and supplied up to 30th June 2024 against the purchase orders issued on or
before 30th June 2023 and copy of which is submitted to the Central Pollution Control Board
(CPCB) on or before 31st July 2023.

It is hereby informed that COP shall be conducted/renewed by the

manufacturers/importers/suppliers for those type approved genset/genset engine models which
will be availing the benefits of GSR 436(E), dated 14.06.2023 & MoEFCC OM, dated
22.06.2023, by following the relevant System & Procedures for conducting COP test, which will
be valid up to 30.06.2024.

This issues with the approval of competent Authority.
