IMC Blanket Insulation

IMC Glasswool blanket is a high resisting heat
resisting material, made of glass fibers
bonded with thermosetting resin into light-
weight, soft and resilient insulation with good
compression resistance thermal, acoustical
insulation and energy savings. It is light and
easy to install at office building, modern en-
tertainment , roof, HVAC system and also
other residential, industrial buildings.

APPLICATION
IMC Blanket & Board Insulation is designed for use in industrial and utility
application at operating temperature up to 230C (450F). Flexible blanket
insulation is suitable for use in panel system, flexible wrap, industrial ovens or
surface having irregularities. A semi-rigid blanket & board are suitable for
insulate equipment vessels and air-conditioning ductwork including other
industrial applications. A high strength rigid board is designed for use on
utility applications where high abuse resistance and good appearance is
required.

THERMAL INSULATION
IMC Microfiber Blanket and Board insulation provide low thermal conduc-
tivity, retard heat transfer, reduce operating cost, save energy and contrib-
ute to more comfortable working conditions around hot equipment and
utility applications.

ACOUSTIC INSULATION
The porous structure of fiberglass insulation helps reducing undesired noise
and sound transmission efficiently.

NON-COMBUSTIBLE SUBSTANCE
This is the benefit from fiber glass, so its non-combustible and fire retardant.

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
IMC Microfiber Blanket and Board insulation is flexible and resilient and
provides a good recovery after longtime compressive application.
SHOT FREE [VERY SHORT FIBER]
The virtual absence of shot and the consistent fibrous glass composition
enable IMC insulation to withstand the effects of sever temperature and
vibration without, slumping, clumping and breaking.

Application Recommendation

IMC Microfiber blanket is lightweight and flexible insulation, applicable to use on vessels having
irregular surface where the high compressive strength is not a required performance.

IMC Microfiber Semi-rigid and high rigid board are usually installed on flat surface by impaling
over welded or fasten mechanical pins. They can be easily cut in segments and bended in
place of irregular surface.
Outer surface protection of unfaced insulation is required, applying with aluminum jacket,
metal cladding or water pool mastic.
Fasteners shall be located not less than 75mm(3”) from each edges or corners of the insulation.
Pin spacing along the equipment should be no longer than 300mm (12”) on centers. Additional
fasteners ma be required to hold the insulation tightly against the surface where cross breaking
is used for stiffening. Weld pin length must be selected to ensure tight fit but avoid “old-
canning”.

In multiple layers application, use faced material on outer layer only. Cover pins and clips with
vapor sealing pressure-sensitive patches matching insulation facing. Squeeze hardly with sealing
tool to ensure a tight bond and vapor seal. All insulation joints should be sealed with pressure-
sensitive joint sealing tape to match the insulation facing. Rub hard with a plastic sealing tool to
effect a tight bond. Recommended practice suggests 3” (76mm) wide tape on flat surfaces or
where edges are ship lapped and stapled. Use 5” (102mm) wide tape in lieu of ship lapping. If
insulation is being applied to sheet metal duct work, all sheet metal joints must be sealed prior
to insulating. Glass fabric and mastic may be used in lieu of pressure-sensitive tape.
