Comparatives and Superlatives
are special forms of adjectives.
They are used to compare two or
more things.

Comparatives are formed using -ER


Superlatives are formed using -EST
USE OF COMPARATIVES

Comparatives are used to compare two things.


When comparing, we use the word “than”.
You can also use sentences with the word “but”.

Miguel is taller than John


Jhon is tall, but Miguel is taller
USE OF SUPERLATIVES

Superlatives are used to compare more than two


things. Superlative sentences usually use the word
“the” before the adjective.

Sara is the tallest in the class.


Jhon is tall and Miguel is taller,
but Sara is the tallest.
