Fernando Amorsolo, a renowned Filipino artist, was born on May 30, 1892, in Paco, Manila. He grew up
in a time when the Philippines was under Spanish colonial rule and later transitioned to American
occupation. These historical events greatly influenced his artistic style and subject matter.Amorsolo's
childhood experiences of rural life and the vibrant landscapes of his homeland became recurring themes
in his paintings. His works often depicted idyllic scenes of farmers toiling in the fields or women engaged
in daily activities. Through his use of light and color, he captured the essence of Filipino culture and
portrayed its beauty to the world.

Amorsolo's talent was recognized early on, leading him to study at the Liceo de Manila and later at
the University of the Philippines School of Fine Arts. He further honed his skills by studying abroad in
Madrid under renowned Spanish painter Fabian de la Rosa.Throughout his career, Amorsolo received
numerous accolades for his contributions to Philippine art. His works continue to be celebrated for their
ability to evoke nostalgia and pride among Filipinos. Today, Fernando Amorsolo is considered one of the
greatest Filipino painters who left an indelible mark on Philippine art history.

II. Ideology/Philosophy

Amorsolo's ideology revolved around the concept of "Pintura," which means painting in Spanish. He
believed that through his art, he could showcase the essence and soul of the Filipino people. His paintings

Furthermore, Amorsolo's philosophy emphasized the power of simplicity and naturalness. He believed
