Greetings

Section 2 of R.A 9482 (The Anti-Rabies Act of 2007) mandates local government units to
have a control over all stray animals through a local ordinance enacted for this purpose. Stray
dogs and other animals shall be impounded in the LGU designated pounding area and
properly disposed of in any manner authorized, subject to the pertinent provisions of
Republic Act No. 8485, otherwise known as the “Animal Welfare Act of 1998”, taking into
consideration the following guidelines and minimum standards for the operation and
maintenance of such facilities.

We are writing this letter about the stray dogs on the streets of our locality. These dogs are a
menace to the residents and threaten their safety.
We request you to deploy personnel to catch these stray animals from and shift them to a
shelter.
