 Kiwi, a fintech that enables credit on UPI, partnered with Axis Bank to bolster 'Credit on
UPI' accessibility on Rupay credit cards.

 State Bank of India, Hyderabad Circle has launched PMSVANidhi publicity campaign to
facilitate more street vendors to access affordable working capital loans for their
livelihood activities.
 AU Small Finance Bank has achieved an unprecedented feat with the launch of its
groundbreaking customer service 24x7 via Video Banking.
 Airtel Payments Bank, becomes the first Indian bank to launch eco-friendly debit card
for its new and existing customers with a savings bank account.
 Reserve Bank of India has kept the key interest rate unchanged for third time in a row.
Announcing the bi-monthly monetary policy, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das the
Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) unanimously decided to keep the repo rate
unchanged at 6.5 percent.
 RBI proposed to increase the per transaction payment limit to ₹ 500 for UPILite in
offline mode and announced other measures to further deepen the reach and use of
digital payments in the country. Presently, a limit of ₹ 200 per transaction and an
overall limit of ₹ 2,000 per payment instrument.
 Bank of Maharashtratopped the list of public sector lenders in loan in Q1 2023(24.98
per cent, reaching ₹1,75,676 crore by the end of June 2023)
 Chakr Innovation, a pioneering startup specializing in pollution reduction solutions, has
secured substantial funding of INR 18 crores from the EXIM Bank.
 The Reserve Bank has imposed monetary penalties on four co-operative banks for
deficiencies in regulatory compliance. These banks are -- Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank,
Vadodara, The Aska Co-operative Central Bank Ltd., Bally Cooperative Bank Ltd.,
Howrah and The Nabapalli Co-operative Bank Ltd., West Bengal.
 Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) launched WhatsApp banking services.
 IndusInd Bank has launched a first-of-its-kind multi-branded credit card ‘IndusInd Bank
Avios Visa Infinite Credit Card’ for all customers, in partnership with British Airways
Executive Club and Qatar Airways Privilege Club.
 Axis Bank offer Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and unsecured MSME loans to small business
customers, powered by the platform. Both the products be offered in a completely
digital manner and require no submission of documents by customers.
 Indian Bankhas announced that it has become the first public sector bank to extend the
facility of execution of online locker agreement through the Digital Document
Execution (DDE) platform of National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL).
 YES BANK has introduced its groundbreaking mobile banking app, IRIS.
 Canara Bank launched the UPI Interoperable Digital Rupee mobile application as a part
of the Reserve Bank of India’s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot project.
 HDFC Bank, in a tie-up with Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s travel program,
has introduced co-branded ‘Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card’ which run on
Diners Club, part of the Discover Global Network.
 Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’s Onam celebration, a larger-than-life Pookalam, the

 The country's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced a facility to allow
customers to enrol in social security schemes by just furnishing an Aadhaar card.
 DBS, in partnership with commodities trader Maptrasco, announced the completion of
the first “live” transaction of electronic Bills of Lading (eBL) for shipments between
Singapore and India.
 Airtel Payments Bank, in collaboration with Mastercard Center and Frontier Markets,
has introduced a transformative initiative named She Leads Bharat:Udyam.
 The Indian Cricket Board announced that the IDFC First Bank has grabbed the title rights
for home international series of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for three
years.
 RBIhas raised the upper limit of an offline payment transaction to Rs 500 from the
existing Rs 200 to promote the use of UPI-Lite wallet in areas where internet
connectivity is weak or not available.
 YES BANK announced the launch of an innovative co-branded corporate credit card in
collaboration with Zaggle, a company specialized in spend management.
 Axis Bank, launched its 'Infinity Savings Account', offering special features for its
customers, including no domestic transaction charges in exchange for monthly fees.

ECONOMY
 As per the GST guidelines, it is to be mandatory for companies with a B2B transaction
value of ₹5 crore, to produce an electronic invoice.(Earlier ₹10 crore or above were
required to generate e-invoice).
 Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) announced the establishment of the
Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF).
 Central and state governments collected ₹1.65 trillion in Goods and Services Tax (GST)
revenue in July, an improvement of 11% from the year-ago period.
 MOIL Limited has recorded its best-ever performance for the month of July since its
inception. The company produced 1.20 lakh tonnes of manganese ore in July 2023.
 The NABARD has sanctioned a total amount of Rs 1,974.07 crore to the Rajasthan
government under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for the financial
year 2023-24.
 Akasa Air has collaborated with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to
commemorate Aviation Security Culture Week.
 Recently, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the Rajmarg

 The commerce ministry the first trial shipment of fresh pomegranate has been

 India's industrial output grew by 3.7 percent in June, according to data released by the

Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, for NHPC’s 2,880 MW Dibang Multi-Purpose Project.
 Centre has set a target to achieve 43450 crores in revenue from operations in
the financial year 2023-2024 (FY23).
 Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has acquired 6.660 per cent shareholding in Jio
Financial Services Ltd, the demerged non-banking financial services arm of the Reliance
Industries.
 India and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) have agreed to conclude
the review of the existing free-trade agreement (FTA) in goods by 2025.

 The Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI) has unveiled the CSIR

adoption of AI-driven technologies in agriculture.
 Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) it has successfully manufactured the first set of
indigenous SCR Catalysts for limiting NOx emissions from thermal power plants.
 The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) recently
approved amendments to reinsurance regulations to promote a favourable business
environment and attract more reinsurers to set up operations in India.
 Foreign direct investment (FDI) into India declined 34 per cent to USD 10.94 billion
during April-June period this fiscal year, according to government data.

INTERNATIONAL
 India and Moldova have agreed to explore signing of an MoU for cooperation in the
agriculture sector.
 The world's largest wind turbine constructed to date is now up and running and
contributing to the power grid in China.
 During August, fighter jets from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will head to China to
participate in the “Falcon Shield 2023” exercises, the first time that the Air Forces of
both nations will conduct joint military exercises.
 The Russian Defense Ministry announced the start of the Ocean Shield 2023 naval
exercises in the Baltic Sea.
 Gabon launched what is set to be Africa's first debt-for-nature swap, with a plan to buy
up at least $450 million of its government debt and switch it to an eco-friendly blue
bond.
 An offshore gas field in the Gulf waters has long been a bone of contention among the
Saudi Arabia and Kuwait claiming ownership over it.
 Based on the recommendations of the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR),

 India’s per capita income is set to increase 7.5 times to Rs 14.9 lakh ($12,400) per annum by
FY47 from Rs 2 lakh ($2,500) in FY23, according to the latest study published by SBI Research
economists.
 The Ministry of Jal Shakti released the report on the sixth census on minor irrigation schemes.
As per the report, 23.14 million minor irrigation (MI) schemes have been reported in the
country, out of which 21.93 million are Ground Water (GW) and 1.21 million are Surface Water
(SW) schemes.
