WHAT IS A COMPUTER?
-It is an electronic device which has the capability to
input data, process data, produce output result, and
stores the data for future use.
WHAT IS HARDWARE?
A computer hardware is any tangible electronic
component that is a compatible to a pc.
WHAT IS SOFTWARE?
A software is the intangible part of a personal
computer.
-the program that run on a computer and perform
certain functions.
WHAT ARE INPUT DEVICES?
This are devices which is used to Input Data into a
Computer. (Ex: Mouse, Keyboard, Scanner, Mic,
Numpad)
WHAT ARE OUTPUT DEVICES?
This are devices which is used to produce output result
from a Computer Process. (Ex: Projector, Speaker,
Printer, Monitor, Earphone)
WHAT ARE STORAGE DEVICES?
This are devices which is used to store data. (Ex:
Flashdisk Drive, Harddisk Drive, CD, DVD, Solid State
Drive (SSD), Floppy Disk)
WHAT ARE COMMUNICATION DEVICES?
This are devices which allows the computer to
communicate with each other. (Ex: Router, Switch, Hub)
WHAT ARE INPUT/OUTPUT (I/O) DEVICES?
This are devices which has the capability of processing Input
and Output at the same time. (Ex: Digital Camera,
Touchscreen Devices, Photocopying Machine (XEROX),
Signature Pad)
INTERNAL COMPONENTS OF A SYSTEM UNIT
System Unit – the housing/ frame/ casing of the
internal components of a PC.
Motherboard- the main circuitry of a PC.
Central Processing Unit (CPU)/ Processor- the brain of
the computer which process the overall performance of
a PC.
Random Access Memory- Serves as Temporary Memory
of Softwares and Applications.
Power Supply- it supplies the motherboard with
electricity.
Hard Disk Drive (HDD)- it is a PC Component where
data, files, and software are being stored and installed.
Complimentary Mono-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS)-
holds the date/time of a PC.
CPU Fan- it cools down the CPU.
Heat Sink- it absorbs the excess heat from the CPU.
Video Card (Graphics Card) – it is used to enhance the
graphics display of a PC.
