ALTHOUGH MORE AND MORE PEOPLE READ NEWS ON

THE INTERNET, NEWSPAPERS WILL REMAIN THE MOST

IMPORTANT SOURCE OF NEWS. DO YOU AGREE OR
DISAGREE?

Today, as people have access to the Internet, many people believe that
conventional newspapers will continue to be the most important source of
information. I completely disagree with this opinion.

There are many things that attract people to read online news on network
sources. Firstly, the Internet can update news continuously for 24 hours. For
example, the latest events, such as the ISIS terrorist attacks, will be updated
immediately on CNN or the New York Times. Secondly, with the presence of
the Internet almost everywhere in the world, people only need to have a
mobile device to access a huge store of news. Just by carrying a smartphone
or laptop, people can surf websites and access news around the globe
instantly.

On the contrary, newspapers have limitations that affect their popularity. A

major disadvantage of newspapers is cost. Competing with free online news,
newspaper publishers are facing declining circulation. Some major American
newspapers have now introduced online versions to keep up with this trend.
Another disadvantage of newspapers is the amount of paper consumed during
production. With increasing awareness of environmental protection, there is a
segment of public opinion that refuses to buy newspapers because it involves
cutting down trees to produce paper.

In conclusion, I think the importance of print newspapers will gradually

decline and more and more people will use the Internet to access news.
