INTRODUCTION
Bev Bos was a pioneering early childhood
educator known for her emphasis on the
importance of play and creativity in learning.

EARLY YEARS
Bev Bos started her teaching career
becoming an early childhood educator.

EARLY PHILOSOPHIES
During her early years as an educator, she was a big
advocator that you shouldn't call Preschool, “Preschool”
due to it not being a place that young children should be
quiet and absorb information. Calling it school brings a
connotation that there are desks and a strict learning
enviornment.

INTERESTING IDEAS
Another philosophy that Bev Bos was a big
contributor in was the idea that you should
make children more independent. Letting them
do things on their own will make them more
prepared to enter a normal schooling
envoirnment.

MUSICAL INFLUENCE
Bev Bos made songs that were very helpful in a
learning enviornment. The music is very play based
where the focus is on having fun.

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE

She also was very big on knowing that earliest and
fastest isn’t best. “If what we want for our children
is a lifetime of excellence—in experience, in ability,
in knowledge—we must be responsible enough to
wait and thorough enough to look at all sides of
their development” (Bev Bos).

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELS
Bev Bos will also go and talk to thousands of
different locations and was an international
speaker. She has touched thousands of lives.

LEGACY OF BEV BOS

For over 40 years, Bev Bos has been one of the most
lnfluential people in early teaching of all time.
Looking through her history, she had an unorthodox
way of teaching but it worked very well.
