‘Subject: Metal Detector Critical Limit Validation Test ‘Summary: All three metal detectors were challenged to validate the current CCP Critical Limits. Current critical limits are 3mm for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous and 4mm for Stainless Steel. Methodology: Bread, Bun and Hearth products were grouped by physical characteristics. (size, density, etc.). Samples of each preduct group were passed through the appropriate metal detector for the type of product. For each product group, and metal type, the current Critical Limit test wand was passed through the metal detector three times to verify that the detector would detect and reject the sample. Successful detection and rejection were annotated on a grid. Next, a test wand .5mm smaller than the current Critical Limit wand was used. The same procedure as above was utilized, Ifthe smaller sized test wand was successfully detected and rejected three times, then a test wand 1mm ‘smaller than the current Critical Limit wand was used and the same procedures as above were followed Findings/Conclusions: The current Critical Limit test wands were successfully detected and rejected in all product groups The following table shows the product types rejected for each metal and each size test wand. Product Group Ferrous Non-Ferrous Stainless St 2mm_| 2.5mm [3mm | 2mm | 2.5mm | 3mm | 3mm | 3.5mm | 4mm Bread (18) ana | ie | tee | ons | ane | tee | ome | ane | tee Buns (12) on2 | an2 | tza2 | on2 | on2 | 1an2 | on2 | on2 | r2m2 Hearth (11) eit | ett | asat | ont | ant | tat | ont | ont | ant Based upon the results of the validation test, the current Critical Limits for the CCP are correct,
