Follow proper hand hygiene protocols, including the use of gloves, masks, and gowns as necessary.

Patient Assessment:

Perform regular patient assessments, including vital signs (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate,
oxygen saturation) and weight measurements.

Observe for any signs of distress, such as respiratory distress, abnormal heart rate or rhythm, cyanosis,
or changes in skin color or temperature.

Feeding and Nutrition:

Assist with feeding procedures, including bottle-feeding, nasogastric tube feeding, or supporting
breastfeeding.

Follow proper techniques for formula or breast milk preparation and administration.

Monitor intake and output and document any changes or abnormalities.

Skin Care:

Perform regular skin assessments, checking for any redness, irritation, or breakdown.

Follow proper diaper-changing techniques and use moisture barrier creams as needed.

Ensure the patient's skin is kept clean and dry, addressing any skin care concerns promptly.

Positioning and Comfort:

Ensure the patient is positioned properly to support respiratory efforts and provide comfort.

Assist with repositioning the patient regularly to prevent pressure ulcers and promote musculoskeletal
development.

Provide appropriate environmental factors, such as maintaining optimal room temperature and
minimizing noise levels.

Documentation:

Document all assessments, interventions, and observations accurately and promptly in the patient's
medical records.

Ensure all documentation is complete and complies with hospital policies and standards.
Communicate any significant changes or concerns to the nursing team or healthcare provider.

Safety and Infection Control:

Ensure the patient's crib or bed is safe and free from any hazards or potential risks.

Follow infection prevention protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective
equipment (PPE), and adherence to isolation precautions.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient's area, including regular cleaning and disinfection of
equipment and surfaces.

Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with the nursing team, healthcare providers, and parents regarding the
patient's condition, care plan, and any changes or concerns.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care and address the patient's
needs.
