Method:
1. The simple pendulum was set up with length 0.6 m
2. The pendulum was set at an angle of 60o and was allowed to oscillate. The stopwatch and pendulum
were started simultaneously
3. Time taken for 10 oscillations was recorded.
4. Steps 2 and 3 was repeated two time and average was determined.
5. The period of the pendulum was then calculated.
6. The square of the period was determined.
7. Steps 1 to 6 was repeated using lengths 0.5 m, 0.4 m, 0.3 m, 0.2 m, and 0.1 m.
8. A graph was potted of squared period against length.
9. The acceleration due to gravity was deduced.

Assumptions:
The length of the string is assumed to affect the period for one oscillation of the pendulum, the object in
motion is a point mass, and the acceleration due to gravity will increase.

Discussion

The acceleration produced when a body falls under the influence of the earth's gravitational force alone is
known as free fall acceleration. It is denoted by ‘g’ and its value on Earth's surface is 9.20 m/s/s
The acceleration of gravity is a numerical value for the acceleration of a free-falling object that has a
special symbol denoted by the symbol g.
A simple pendulum can be used to calculate the acceleration of gravity of an object.

The simple pendulum is a mechanical system that move in oscillatory motion. It consists of a point mass
suspended from a fixed support by a light inextensible string of length.

A pendulum's period is the amount of time it takes to complete one oscillation. The string's length, the
bob's mass, and the amplitude at which the bob is set can all have an impact on the period.

Limitation:
Environmental Error- the wind had an impact on the pendulum oscillation.

Source of Errors:
Reaction Time- the observer's reaction time is critical when starting and stopping the stopwatch.
Make sure the stopwatch and pendulum both stop at the same time.

Conclusion:
It can be deduced that the acceleration due to gravity on a simple pendulum with a range of lengths was
discovered to be
