“A Reader Lives a Thousand Lives”? Why?

“The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more you
learn, the more places you’ll go.” This is the famous quote of Dr. Suess, where I
draw my inspiration in reading. I believe that a reader lives a thousand lives
because the more he reads, the more he will gain knowledge and that
knowledge will become his instrument of life. Reading can increase a reader’s
vocabulary, awaken its imagination, and even become an explorer.

Reading can increase a reader’s vocabulary. A lot of readers can easily

decipher words and convey meanings. Some of them knew different languages
of different countries even if they haven’t been there before. They can also
define words that seem to be unfamiliar to others. See, that’s how reading can
have a big influence on them?

Reading can awaken a reader’s imagination. A reader who likes to read

fantasy storybooks like for example about mermaids, unicorns, pirates, and
more, allows a reader to flow his imagination more deeper that will lead him to
discover more and be creative.

Reading can make a reader to become an explorer. Why? Because

through reading he can learn the different cultures, traditions, and people of
different countries without even travelling to places. He will only learn it
through reading articles and geography books.

Thus, reading can help a reader gain knowledge and “knowledge is

power”. The power to make every reader explore places, the power to
comprehend and understand different cultures, traditions, and people, the
power to learn new things, and the power to influence others. This is how
reading leads every reader to have a thousand lives.
