GOALS:

• Be able to process automatic flight analysis from new flights or flights already
stored in AGS.
• Understand the process
• Be able to access to the flight database.

1. GOAL: FLIGHT DATABASE UPDATE-RAW DATA STORAGE

What is the automatic

analysis in the AGS?
The Automatic Analysis is
the powerful process
which allows the automatic
flight database update and
the raw data storage

Automatic analysis purpose:

• Automatic analysis is a powerful process for systematic transcription and decoding of all flight data
recording.

• Automatic analysis is designed to minimize repetitive daily task and manage

alone:
- 1. Event detection with report generation,
- 2. Output of data file for specific software (Engine trend Monitoring…),
- 3. Updated of AGS database (Media, flight, event and snapshot tables),
- 4. Flight (raw) data storage.

2. THE AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS PROCESS

The different treatments executed during the automatic analysis:

• Automatic treatments on each recognized flight.
- The flight identification in term of date, flight number origin and destination,
- The conversion of recorded parameters into engineering values,
- The computation of additional parameters,
- The event detection,
- The memorization of snapshot parameters for subtle trend.

• Storage in AGS database.

- At the end of the automatic analysis, the AGS stores in its database all analyzed flights with the raw
data and the associated results including the detected events and the snapshot parameters.
- The purpose of the flight database storage is to allow the statistic analysis and the possibility to replay
later any flight.

• Storage in External File.

- AGS allows to create and to store data in external files, for instance to provide data to other software,
as engine trend monitoring or flight safety system.

it be a complete
automatic process?
You may need an operator
or have a complete
automatic process
Automatic analysis process:

• Flight data recording on a physical media will require an operator to launch the automatic analysis
process.

• Wireless flight data transfer will require the automatic analysis to be launched without any
operator
- The AGS is set up in a specific mode (autonomous),
- One folder is defined as the download folder to receive the flight data files,
- The AGS is waiting for files to be downloaded in that specific folder,
- The AGS launch the automatic analysis as soon as recognized files are detected in the download
folder.

7. THE FLIGHT REPLAY
This is the flight replay
There is a Replay
function in the
function. The function is
Flight and in the exactly the same from both
Event list. What is it list
for ?

AGS offers the possibility to re-analyze flight data (from the raw data)
already stored in the database. Two important facilities are offered:
Re-build an analysis of stored flights
• AGS stores only raw data but not the engineering values.
• The replay function enables to quickly generate engineering values from the raw data
stored on the server, and so to display parameters of the concerned flight.
Execute a different analysis on stored flights
• Thanks to the replay function, user can execute a different analysis on a
given flight list already stored in order to update the results in the database:
- Different event detection with different limits,
- New analysis regarding new event detection procedures for statistics improvement.

7. THE FLIGHT REPLAY

One of the major purpose of flight replay is the event table re-building
in accordance of:
• New event detection procedures.
• New event detection limits.

In order to avoid confusion between old events and new events,
the AGS SW performs during the flight replay:
• 1. Canceling of all current event and snapshot parameter objects.
• 2. Computing of event and snapshot procedures in accordance with the database
version selected.
• 3. Updating the database with new set of event and snapshot parameter objects.
