Steps:

Warm-up
 Ask students about the topic of the lesson and brainstorm related words. [Write the topic,

Presentation
 Students focus on the photo(s) and answer the introductory question (exercise 1): [Write the
responses you expect and any vocabulary you will pre-teach here]
 Students read and listen to a conversation and answer the questions: [Write any difficulties

 Students study the Key phrases in context; check understanding of the phrases: [Write the

Closure
 Give students the opportunity to feed back on how well they have learnt the lesson.
Encourage them to read the ‘I can …’ statement at the top of the Student Book page and
assess how well they have achieved the lesson objective. Ask students:
If you feel you have done well, raise your hand. On a scale of 1–10, how well have you
done?
Draw the following emoticons on the board and ask students to choose the emoticon that
best suits them.
