Mother Nature’s Monologue

By: Alvaro Monzon B. Flavier

Oh! this is life: blooming flowers, growing trees, dashing rivers, and chirping birds! I can show
you the world, shining, shimmering, splendid. I am mother nature, full of beauty, full of life! God, thank
you for creating everything in this world. Thank you for creating those people who help me in taking
care of the entire nature. Thank you for… Bang! Bang! Bang! Those people are here! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The birds are hunted. Broom! Broom! Broom!
The trees are falling. Boom! Boom! Boom! The mines are dug. Bang! Broom! Boom! No! Stop it!
Bang! Broom! Boom! Please stop! I’m dying; I’m ruined. You are supposed to be my protector but now
you are destroying me. I will also destroy you. I will also ruin you. Listen. It’s not too late. For the sake
of your children and your children’s children, please save me. Save the nature.
