A entrevistadora, Chris, quer conhecer mais sobre ele, onde estudou, sua experiência, e
coisas do tipo.
Texto Completo
Chris: Welcome to our school, Mr. Brown! Are you here to interview for the
administrative position?
Jamie: Thank you! Actually, I'm here to interview for the English instructor position. I
saw your advertisement online.
Chris: Oh, of course. Well, before you tell me about your teaching experience, please
tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? Where did you go to school?
Jamie: Well, I'm originally from Canada, but I grew up in the United States. So, I'd like
to think I'm from Texas.
Chris: Texas? I'm surprised! You don't have a southern accent at all.
Jamie: I know. Everybody tells me that. However, I think that all of my family speaks
with an accent. I suspect that I lost mine when I went to university.
Jamie: I graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in biology. While I
was doing my undergrad, I wanted to travel everywhere, so I also spent a semester
abroad.
Chris: Your international experience looks really great on your résumé. It shows me that
you have experienced people who are from various backgrounds.

Jamie: Yes, I studied in Spain, but on the weekends, I traveled all over Europe. Actually,
that's when I became interested in languages.
Jamie: Yes. I completed my degree in education and linguistics just last year. I really
like everything about language development.
Chris: Oh, so you are a new graduate. I suppose you don't have much work experience
then.
Jamie: I don't have any experience yet, but I think I'm a good fit for the position. I
googled your school, and my teaching philosophy seems to be in line with the school's.
Chris: Ha! Our webpage hasn't been updated in ages. I keep telling everyone in the
office that we need a new one. Anyway, please speak more on your teaching
philosophy.
Jamie: Well, I think everyone has a preferred style of learning. So, in my classroom, I
want to give all students the chance to excel. Students should have various options
when it comes to projects.
Jamie: Absolutely. I come from a big family, so I am used to having to speak over a lot
of people.
Chris: How about the parents? You'll need to conduct parent-teacher meetings with
regular updates about the students' progress.
Chris: I admire your confidence. Do you have any questions for me?
Jamie: I was wondering about the vacation time. I see that the school is closed from
May to July. Is that a paid or unpaid vacation?
