Write Essay on ‘The Peacock’ or ‘TheTiger’.

The Peacock

The peacock is a beautiful and colourful bird. It is blue in

colour and has a long neck, and long blue and green feathers.
The feathers have dark blue marks on them which look like
eyes. The peacock can spread these feathers like a fan. The
female bird, called the peahen, is not as pretty as the peacock.
The peacock is our national bird.

Besides India, the peacocks are found in Srilanka, Myanmar

and Java. This great bird eats grains and insects and, yes even
snakes. Peacock move in flocks and are shy by nature. It is said
that when it rains the peacock is happy and dances. It lets out a
loud and long cry.

Peacocks feathers are smooth and shiny and I like to keep

them in my notebooks.

The Tiger.

The tiger is a large animal with a bright yellow-brown coat

and black stripes. Some tigers have chalk white fur with
chocolate brown or black stripes. They are called white tigers.
Tigers belong to the cat family.

Tigers are very swift and can leap nearly nine meters in the
air. Tigers eat animals in the jungle or our nearby villages.

The Tiger is our national animal. Many tigers were once

found in the jungle (Sundarbans) of West Bengal. There are
very few tigers left in the jungles because most of them have
been killed for sport or money. The government is trying to
save the tiger by turning some forests into wildlife sanctuaries.
Hunting is banned in these wildlife sanctuaries.

The tiger is a ferocious, bold and fearless animal.
