Answer: For a variety of reasons, overusing pesticides, herbicides, and
fertilizers can be unsustainable and detrimental to the environment.
Pollution of the environment
Pesticides and fertilizers can contaminate the soil, water, and air. In
addition to decreasing soil quality, fertilizers can also destroy soil
microorganisms.

Nitrates and phosphorus, two ingredients in fertilizers that can lead to
eutrophication, are among them. The process of nutrient enrichment in
aquatic bodies, known as eutrophication, can result in the growth of algae
and lower oxygen levels for aquatic life.
