What motivates you academically, professionally, and personally to further your interest

in finance by pursuing the Masters in Financial Analysis?

The impetus to further my interest in finance through pursuing a Masters in Financial

Analysis (MFA) at the London Business School (LBS) is deeply rooted in academic,
professional, and personal motivations. This multifaceted drive has been shaped by a lifelong
journey marked by a passion for finance, academic dedication, and a commitment to bridging
the gaps in my knowledge and skills.

My academic journey has been a continuous exploration of the intricate dynamics of finance,
spurred by early exposure to my father's luxury watch import business. Witnessing the impact
of supply and demand, labour concerns, and market fluctuations on the business's financial
health ignited my curiosity and passion for economics. Pursuing a BA (Hons) in Economics
laid the foundation for my academic pursuit. I eagerly delved into quantitative courses like
Mathematics, Statistics, and Econometrics, equipping me with the analytical skills crucial for
deciphering financial complexities.

However, my academic thirst was further fueled by realising the limitations in my knowledge
during various finance internships. These experiences highlighted the need for a more
comprehensive understanding, particularly in financial modelling and budgeting. The MFA at
LBS is envisioned as the catalyst to bridge these gaps, providing me with a more robust
academic framework.

Professional experiences, including internships at financial consultancies and roles in

business finance, underscored the practical challenges and complexities of the financial
world. Engaging with diverse financial data, conducting market research, and evaluating
investment opportunities during my tenure as the Financial Consultant Head Intern at
Beanstalk Brand Consultancy heightened my awareness of the need for advanced financial
skills. A subsequent Finance-related internship at Eazydiner further illuminated the
importance of a deeper skill set, prompting me to seek a program that offers a comprehensive
and practical approach to financial analysis.

Recognising the fast-paced evolution of the financial industry, especially in London, I am

motivated to stay ahead by enrolling in courses like corporate finance and financial markets
at LBS. These courses and exposure to various financial software tools are pivotal for staying
relevant and impactful in the ever-evolving financial landscape.

On a personal level, my passion for finance is driven by a genuine interest in understanding

the mechanisms that shape economies and businesses. The desire to contribute meaningfully
to the financial world, informed by a sense of responsibility nurtured from familial
experiences, propels me to seek advanced knowledge and skills.

Moreover, the prospect of pursuing the MFA at LBS aligns seamlessly with my philosophy of
continuous growth and learning. It represents not just a degree but a transformative journey
that will empower me to navigate the intricacies of the financial world with confidence and
proficiency.
How will you impact the London Business School community?

My contributions to the London Business School (LBS) community will be multifaceted,

drawing upon my diverse experiences in academics, research, sports, and social impact
initiatives.

Having undertaken in-depth research on a derivative marketplace and its financial risks, I
bring a unique perspective to the academic environment at LBS. My published paper in
TIJER reflects my analytical skills and ability to synthesise and apply diverse views
practically. I aspire to collaborate with esteemed professors at LBS, including Bianchi F,
Gomez-Cram R, Kind T, and Kung H, leveraging the knowledge gained from my research to
contribute meaningfully to ongoing discussions on financial markets and central bank
independence.

As a seasoned water polo player and an award recipient for Best Water Polo Player on
multiple occasions, I envision contributing to the university's water polo team. My experience
in inter-school and national-level matches has honed my individual skills and my ability to
work collaboratively within a team. I believe my passion for the sport and a strong team spirit
will be a positive addition to the university's sports community.

My involvement in non-profit organisations, particularly in conducting mathematics classes

for underprivileged girl children, showcases my commitment to social impact. I aspire to join
the LBS Social Impact Club to bring my theoretical knowledge into practical implementation.
By building partnerships with local community organisations and NGOs, promoting
sustainability, and organising events benefiting underprivileged students, I aim to contribute
to the club's mission of making a positive social and climate impact.

Joining the Consulting Club aligns with my commitment to continuous professional growth.
Access to over 100 case studies from various business schools, workshops, and training
opportunities offered by the Consulting Club will be instrumental in enhancing my analytical
and problem-solving skills. As a club member, I intend to actively participate in activities that
foster a collaborative learning environment, thereby contributing to the overall professional
development of the LBS community.

In summary, my impact on the London Business School community will be characterised by

a fusion of academic depth, sportsmanship, social responsibility, and a commitment to
professional growth. By actively engaging in research discussions, contributing to the sports
community, driving social impact initiatives, and participating in professional development
activities, I aim to create a positive and enriching environment at LBS that reflects my
dedication to holistic excellence and community betterment.
