My beliefs are synchronous with that of the XYZ University’s that learning is most fruitful when

knowledge and expertise of individuals from diverse backgrounds are shared. XYZ has Harvard
modules and case studies in curriculum, various student committees, great faculties and an alumni
network along with its location in the financial capital of the country which would provide better
industry exposure and thus better opportunities

While working with Torrent Power Ltd, I was exposed to the corporate environment and learnt to be
adaptable. I was involved in the High Voltage Projects, his helped me acquire the people skills and
made me realise the importance of good time management and team-management while executing
a project efficiently. I would like to update my skill-set with the latest management tools and I feel

that as one moves up the ladder, soft skills such as negotiation and motivation matter. I want to
pursue a General Management role in future, and I think an MBA would act as a guiding light
towards the same. Having a fair idea of corporate from my time at Torrent Power, I will be able to
relate to some of the challenging situations I faced there, while pursuing the course.

The stress on practical learning through the case method will develop my analytical and decision-
making capability. The eminent faculty members and a huge alumni network attract the sharpest
minds from all over the country. The exposure to a mix of students from divers e cultural,
educational and professional backgrounds will lead to an exchange of knowledge and experiences,
and further

widen the alumni network. This will develop a competitive environment, which according to me is
essential for progress in the right direction. Clubs like ABC, from the market research programs
interwoven with giant companies to the focus on the fast change in technology further motivates me
join XYZ. With my communication skills, an ability to read people and my inquisitiveness, I decided to
chart my own path, and I took up the role of Business Development Associate at a travel startup,
SeekSherpa. My long-term goal is to hold an executive position in a multinational corporate and
therefore, I now aspire to enhance these skills to widen the scope of my professional growth. Going
through the rigors of a professional MBA course is a must to this end. Thereby, I have been single-
mindedly focused on earning an admission to an MBA programme the past one year. An MBA course
will help me achieve a holistic development as a professional. An MBA programme will teach me a
variety of new subjects as well as provide me with industry interface. It will prepare me for a
management level role in the industry which will enable me to make a difference.

XYZ is a class apart in this regard. Its chief attraction lies in its penchant for practical learning which is
demonstrated in its ‘Case Method’ based pedagogy. It boasts of an extremely diverse student body
and a variety of guest lectures conducted by eminent members of the various industries. It also has a
large number of clubs that cater to diverse interests. Its alumni base reads like a who’s who list of
the corporate industry and its placement rates are among the best in the country. A commendable
feature of the school is its credo of social sensitivity. chance to study at XYZ and explore the
aforementioned opportunities will not only help me achieve my career objective but also transform
me as an individual. I would be extremely honoured to be admitted to the school and am sure I
would also contribute to it with hard work and success.

I wish to become an authority in finance and strategy. In short run, I want to get expansive exposure
and deepen my understanding of various functions like Investment Banking, Corporate Finance,
Mergers and Acquisitions, Research and Structuring etc. and identify my core competency. In the
long run, I would want to head one of these functions and be in the top management of a multi-
national corporation.

My ideologies align with XYZ belief in the philosophy of transcending horizons by going beyond the
average, putting in that extra mile, extending to excel and win on all accounts. The college situated
in the financial hub also provides exposure to various opportunities. The dynamic and aggressive
rigour of the course helps in shaping intellectual curiosity, knowledge and personality traits. Apart
from the specialized education, it helps to develop, practice and enhance skills of self-discipline, time
management and working in diverse environments.

Keeping my past performances and future responsibilities in mind, my short term goal is to work and
lead a financial division of an organization. Banking and Investment, Financial Planning are few of my
interest areas in the field of Finance. The subjective knowledge along with practical training will help
me in achieve my long goal, which is to progress in the hierarchy of the organisation, where I can
help the organisation in strategic decision making with my experience and fulfil a leadership role.

I have learnt one important thing: working hard always pays off and I believe I have the quality of
diligence deeply ingrained in me.

When I went to BITS Pilani, I had a reserved personality due to a strong attachment to my home-
town. However, along this journey, the vibrant culture and diversity of my alma-mater molded me
into a more confident, yet humbler form of myself. It was here that I developed a fondness for cue
sports like pool, snooker and music instruments like guitar, flute. These non-scholastic endeavors
gave me multiple platforms to interact with people from different colleges. While in college,
Statistics was my favorite subject. To fuel this interest, I took up certification for Six Sigma Green
Belt, which is centered around leveraging statistics for solving quality-based business problems. In
hindsight, this was my first steppingstone to the world of consulting
