STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

While undergoing my undergraduate studies in Commerce I was keenly attracted towards

Finance management, understanding its relevance and importance in any business
organization. I developed a sound knowledge of the subject and my internships added value
to my learning. To have a holistic picture and a lucrative career I decided to pursue a
Master’s in International Business Management from your reputed University. I believe that
the proposed course will enhance my knowledge and skills in these areas. The global
exposure that your University provides, coupled with the high-quality curriculum, will enable
me to gain priceless knowledge, enhancing my professional and personal development. I
believe this program will help me develop my skills to help me become proficient in
International Business Management, broadening my perspective on different aspects of
business, and providing me with the skills and knowledge required to become a useful asset

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Mumbai University. Throughout my academic

journey, I have developed a firm foundation in the subject of Finance. My knowledge of the
subject and its various aspects will be an added advantage to my further studies in business
and its management. It may help me gain a better understanding of the role of finance in
business and give me different perspectives on business, its functioning, and its management.

After completing my undergraduate studies, I started working at Bhumika Grover Designer

Studio as a Store Manager. My role was to manage the complete functioning of the studio,
including recruiting, training, and supervising staff. I was also responsible for maintaining the
accounts and cash of the store and ensuring that different duties were completed on time. In
addition, I assisted and advised clients in outfit selection and made sure outfit deliverables
were done on time. During my tenure, I also undertook various promotional activities to
increase sales and maintain awareness of the latest market trends in the retail industry. To
further enrich my knowledge and gain more exposure to the functioning and management of
businesses, I recently worked at SSNC Globeop Financial Services as an Associate. My role
was to manage daily cash, position, trade, and OTE reconciliation for equity, corporate
bonds, derivatives (OTC & Listed/OTE), and other private securities. I also matched trade
economics between client data and prime brokers/counterparty statements and coordinated
the break resolution process with clients, prime brokers, counterparty, and other departments.
Currently, I am working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) at HSBC, where I handle products
like HSBC Invest Direct, First Direct, Invest Direct Plus under the umbrella of HSBC
Stockbroker Services. My role involves handling transfer requests for tax-efficient
investment accounts called ‘Individual Savings Accounts ‘(ISAs), which are investments in
the stock market to reduce taxes and are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
in the UK. I also deal with share deposits of demat accounts, transfer of shares and cash
balances from HSBC to other brokers, and vice-versa with the help of the HUB (HSBC
Universal Banking) application. Through these experiences, I have gained a comprehensive
understanding of different aspects of business management, such as finance, marketing,
operations, and strategy. I have also learned the importance of teamwork, effective
communication, and problem-solving skills, which are crucial for success in the business
world.

My short-term goal is to gain admission to your reputed University, and my long-term goal is
to complete my education and open doors to a further better and more successful career. I am
confident in my competence in this field and am aspiring to become a key player in the
management role in leading organizations.
