PROCESS
1. Meet up with your opposing
team. Talk about the scope of
your debate.

( Scope is the limitation of your topic. Do you only wish to


implement this law/program on specific group of people?
When will this program be implemented? When does it
apply? Who will be affected? Are there exceptions?)

2. Plan as a team and assign
roles. Talk about your strategy
and distribute the main
arguments among the speakers.

3. Research. Explore all possible
sides of the topic. Get as much
studies as you can to support
your statements.

4. Write your speech. DON’T
forget to cite your sources each
time you make a claim.

5. Practice delivering your
speech within the time limit. Allot
a time allowance for POIs and
your refutations.
PROCESS
6. During the debate, LISTEN to
the opponents and list down all
their problematic statements.
Make sure to refute the big ones
in your speech.
Debate Topics
1: This house believes that social media does more harm
than good.

2: This house believes that characters in movies should


have the same race as the book.

3: This house believes that DepEd’s “Catch-up Fridays”


should be implemented in schools.

4: This house believes that traditional schooling is better


than homeschooling.
