is underlined and what they think is the purpose of it.

ACTIVITY Divide the students into groups of four or five. Provide each group
with a chart paper and colored markers. Instruct the students to
brainstorm and write down as many cohesive devices as they can think
of within a given time limit. Encourage creativity and collaboration among
the groups. After the time is up, have each group present their cohesive
devices to the class. Consolidate the responses on the board to create a
comprehensive list.

devices found within the passage. Encourage them to discuss their
findings with a partner or in small groups. Review the answers as a
class, highlighting the purpose and effectiveness of each cohesive
device. Discuss how the cohesive devices contribute to the overall
coherence and clarity of the passage. Provide constructive feedback on
their understanding and usage of cohesive devices.
