ON A RAINY DAY ‫ﻣﺎطر‬
ٍ ‫ﻓﻲ ﯾوم‬
These days here are rainy season. In the working day the rain started to drizzle from the early
morning. And it increased little by little. The family members woke up one by one. Grandfather
woke up before us around 4:30am as usual. After completing the fajr prayer, he went to walk in
the nearby garden. Grandfather returned to the house before his usual return time. I saw him
wet. He is an old and thin man. I heard him coughing and a runny nose. My mother rushed to him
and said: oh father, It is necessary to change your clothes quickly and in that time I will prepare
tea with ginger and honey without milk. It is better to drink it when it is hot. Then you take rest. I
gave a new towel. The grandfather entered the bathroom and wiped his body and head and after
that wore new thick clothes. My mother came with the tea tray in her hand and poured tea in the
cup and gave to grandfather. He sipped the tea. I sat beside him and massaged his hands, head
and legs then grandfather slept in warm bedsheet quickly.

My father began to get ready to go to the office, and said: oh children you also get ready
soon, may be the school bus won't come today or will be late because the rain is falling heavily. I
will take you with me in my car and drop at the school on the way to the office.

My mother called us from the kitchen and said : the breakfast is ready on the table . Come
and eat breakfast and accompany you three brother and sister, your father is in the car, so that
he will drop you at the school. We all went to the breakfast table. After finishing the breakfast,
we took our bag and we rode the car with our father. We found that there are less male and
female students and some teachers gathered in the school yard with the headmaster of the
school for the prayer before the classes start.

After returning from the school, we found our maid only in the house then we asked her
about others. She said Grandfathers condition became bad around 10 o'clock. We informed your
father to come from the office and take him to the hospital. Now all are there in the hospital with
grandfather. We were talking as the telephone I picked up the receiver and heard my mother's
voice and she said : 'Alhamdu Lillah', father is good now. We are on the way. We will reach the
house in half an hour if God wills. You eat lunch and take rest. Then we thanked God. We love our
grandfather very much. but actually he loves us more.

order him, he will surely be imprisoned and will be of those debased." I also remember the poem

SHAKEEL OPENS SAVING ACCOUNT

There is a bank in our Area. Banks in India are either subordinate to the central government or to
the state governments. Banks are found in every part of India even in villages and rural areas. We
all benefit from the presence of banks, regardless of our professions and trades. Industrial owners
in cities and farmers in villages and rural areas benefit from them. Banks serve their customers
from the general public in many ways, including savings accounts, current accounts, and fixed
accounts. They also provide financial aid and loans to farmers and owners of large and small
industries in return for nominal benefits. Thus, banks play a constructive role in the development
of the country.
One day my parents explained to me the benefits of saving money and took me to the bank
because they wanted to open an account in my name so that I could get used to saving a little
money that I take from my parents from time to time every month. We went to the bank and
entered directly into the bank manager's room because he is a friend of my father's since they
were students at Zakir Hussain College. Manager Bashir Ahmed was pleased and welcomed us.

We sat in front of him, and my father said to the manager: I came today to open a savings
account in the name of my son, Shakeel. The manager said: Welcome, let them open this account,
but it seems that it is a minor. It would be okay to open a fixed account. A certain amount of
money is deposited in it every month for three years. He will have reached the age of majority
after three years. He can withdraw the money saved with interest and open a savings account, if
he likes.
Shakeel's father agreed. The Manager rang the bell. The peon entered. The manager said to him:
Ask for Muhammad, so let him come with the fixed account opening form. The peon said: Yes, sir.
Minutes later, Muhammad entered as requested. So he filled out the account opening form and
Shakeel signed it as the owner of the account and his father as a witness. The father thanked the
manager and they went home.
