GAS ANALYZER

A. Description

A Gas Analyzer or commonly called an exhaust gas emission tester is an instrument or tool used to
measure the proportion and composition of a combination of gases. Gases that can be measured by
a gas analyzer are carbon dioxide (CO2), oxygen (O2), and carbon monoxide (CO). In the factory
industry, gas analyzers are commonly used to optimize production processes and safety.

in the automotive world, gas emission testing equipment is used to measure combustion gases in
motorbikes or cars with the aim of research to carry out a series of actions so that vehicle engines
meet established regulatory standards.

B. How Gas Emission Test Equipment Works

The gas analyzer works by taking a gas sample from the probe, then entering each sample cell. The
gas sample will then be compared with the standard gas that passes through the emitting system. The
result is a difference in wavelength which will be converted into an analog signal by the receiver. This
working principle is applied to measure air emission gases in vehicle engines, namely HC, CO2, O2, and
CO.
