Activity 1: EXPLORING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HISTORY
Answer the following question.
1. Why do social scientists refer to history in analyzing or predicting a certain
situation or a particular behavior?
Answer:
Because it helps to the scientist how to connect the present situation
to the past situation. It helps also for them to analyze or predicting a
certain behavior by provides and understand the historical roots, social
factors, cultures, behavior, environment and how the society shaped.
They can also connect some particular event that are similar in the
present event by the aspect of norms, values, structures, religions and
even their traditions that still exist.

2. How important is History to mankind?

Answer:
History is very important to the mankind because it can help for them
identify the ancestor where they belong and how their civilization exists, especially
their cultures. Heritage, identity. It also helps to connect people in the past for who
they are. Also, part of it is to avoid the mistakes happen in the past but build
success and create a better future.

3. Differentiate primary sources from secondary sources.

Answer:
Primary resources are the first hand, original or contemporary materials
created. These sources are direct evidence or records of the events, people,
ideas, etc., while the secondary sources are interpretations, summarize, analyzes
of events or information based from the primary sources. These sources involved
evaluation from the primary source’s materials.

4. Why is it more credible and reliable to use the primary sources?


Answer:
Primary sources are based from facts and based from true events that
happen in the past, there is no unaltered information. It is also the it is the
perspective from individuals who directly witnessed the events, direct experience
from the accurate data or resources. I can say also it is original which provide
exact what happen in the past.
