(i). All questions are compulsory.
(ii). This question paper contains 20 questions divided into five Sections A, B, C, D and E.
(iii). Section A comprises of 10 MCQs of 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 4 questions of 2 marks
each. Section C comprises of 3 questions of 3 marks each. Section D comprises of 1 question of 5
marks each and Section E comprises of 2 Case Study Based Questions of 4 marks each.

SECTION – A
Questions 1 to 10 carry 1 mark each.

12. In the below figure, AC = AE, AB = AD and ∠ BAD = ∠ EAC. Show that BC = DE.

13. In the below figure, ∠ PQR = 100°, where P, Q and R are points on a circle with centre O. Find
∠ OPR.

14. ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral whose diagonals intersect at a point E. If ∠ DBC = 70°, ∠ BAC is
30°, find ∠ BCD.

SECTION – C
Questions 15 to 17 carry 3 marks each.
15. Diagonal AC of a parallelogram ABCD bisects ∠ A. Show that
(i) it bisects ∠ C also,
(ii) ABCD is a rhombus.

16. Prove that "Angles opposite to equal sides of an isosceles triangle are equal."

17. The sides of triangular field are 41 m, 40 m and 900 cm. Each rose bed requires 180 cm2 of
space. How many rose beds can be prepared in the field?

SECTION – D
Questions 18 carry 5 marks.
18. In parallelogram ABCD, two points P and Q are taken on diagonal BD such that DP = BQ (see
below figure). Show that:

(i) Δ APD ≅ Δ CQB (ii) AP = CQ (iii) Δ AQB ≅ Δ CPD


(iv) AQ = CP (v) APCQ is a parallelogram

SECTION – E (Case Study Based Questions)


Questions 19 to 20 carry 4 marks each.
19. In my colony a park is situated in front of my house. This park has built in shape of triangle
(ABC) with the following sides 150m, 100m and 60m. Now-a-days, some animals entered park
and destroy and eat plants. So, our ward member of area has decided to put railing around the
park for protecting plants and grass. Ward member ordered to a gardener to place a railing all
around this park and maintain grass inside park. He also sanctioned an amount to improve park
in a proper way for public of that colony. Costing is decided Rs. 10 per meter for railing around
the park.

(i) What is the perimeter of the park? [1]
(ii) Calculate the semi-perimeter of triangle park, in which planting is needed? [2]
(iii) Calculate the area, in which planting is needed? [2]
OR
(iii) Find the cost of fencing it with barbed wire at the rate of Rs 10 per metre leaving a space 2m
wide for a gate on one side. [2]

20. Three girls Reshma, Salma and Mandip are playing a game by standing on a circle of radius 5m
drawn in a park. Reshma throws a ball to Salma, Salma to Mandip, Mandip to Reshma. The
distance between Reshma and Salma and between Salma and Mandip is 6m each. In the given
below figure Reshma’s position is denoted by R, Salma’s position is denoted by S and Mandip’s
position is denoted by M.

(i) Find the area of triangle ORS. [2]


(ii) What is the distance between Reshma and Mandip? [2]
OR
(ii) If BC is a diameter of a circle of centre O and OD is perpendicular to the chord AB of a
circle, show that CA = 2OD. [2]
