(a) Explain the basic procedure (steps) for work measurement.
(b) Name various recording techniques of work study and explain multiple
activity chart and SIMO chart.
(c) Name various techniques of work measurement and explain analytical
estimating and work sampling.
(d) An operator of a machine takes 4 minutes to load and 2 minute to unload
the job. Automatic running time of machine is 8 minutes. Therefore,
construct worker-machine chart for the most efficient situation of one
worker and two machines. Find cycle time, idle time of worker per cycle,
total idle time per cycle for both machines, total cost per hour, total cost
per cycle and idle time cost per hour; provided that operating cost
of operator is $ 8 per hour and operating cost of a machine is $ 20 per hour.

(a) Write a short note on MPS.
(b) Explain CRP briefly.
(c) Explain various priority sequencing rules.
(d) A work shop has eight jobs to be sequentially processed through the
three work centres MI, M2 and M3. The following table shows the
processing times of jobs on corresponding machines. Therefore, apply
Johnson's rule after verifying the condition to be fulfilled and find the
sequence of jobs, which minimizes the elapsed time. What is this time?
Show your results by Gantt chart.
