1. Preamble
RVBM swears to commit to the sustainable management of all types of wastes
generated from its operations, in an Enviro-friendly methodologies and always in
sequence with applicable waste management regulations & policies of Govt. of India.

2. Policy: Milieu
The policy emphasizes the company’s dedication to manage all types of wastes
produced in its activities in an eco-friendly way and in accordance with the relevant
waste management regulations& policies of Govt. of India. An overall RVBM
waste policy determines and governs the framework of activities of the waste sector. A
clear, concise and consistent policy is a necessary requirement for the Sustainable
Waste Management and it depends on one element which is a WASTE HIERARCHY.
This hierarchy is a stepwise approach to sustainable waste management in the order
of Environmental priority for different waste management options as illustrated in
the waste PYRAMID below:

The general principles of the waste hierarch are prevention, minimization, reuse,
recycling, energy recovery and disposal with prevention being the most favoured and
disposal being the least favoured option.

2
This policy's goals are to make sure that all waste management activities within RVBM
have been executed in compliance with all relevant laws, keeping in mind, the
generation of waste must be reduced at the source by adhering to the 6R principle
(Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Repair, Reuse and Recycle). For RVBM, WASTE INTO
WEALTH is a culture, a philosophy, a faith that needs to be practiced over and over
again till the resource is utilized to the maximum extent possible before it is
disposing off as a waste. In RVBM, waste is seen not simply as things to be
disposed off, but rather as a valuable resource and RVBM has reinforced its policy
measures towards this frame work.

RVBM is eco - dedicated in managing all sorts of wastes that are produced in the
operation of industrial activities & Township because waste management and proper
disposal are its top priorities. The systems adopted for waste management are
formulated & followed to be in compliance with the Rules & regulations notified by the
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India and the respective
Pollution Control Boards (CPCB/SPCB).

3. Policy: Scope &

Coverage
This policy serves as an extension of the CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT POLICY
of the company. It covers all wastes generated from the company’s plants as well as
the township premises. It includes all kinds of wastes that the company generates
other than plastic wastes and fly ash, both of which have already been covered under
the Corporate Environment Policy.

4. Policy: Applicability
This policy shall apply to all the establishments of
RVBM.

5. Policy: Responsibilities
The implementation of this policy through Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) will
be the responsibility of Business Unit (BU) Heads for their respective units. The BU
heads would also need to report the quantity of waste generated in comparisons to
previous year in the next quarterly Board Meetings along with the reasons for
increase/decrease. The BU heads would also be responsible for conducting regular
