Statistical Method II - Course Outline
Statistical Method II - Course Outline
Course Outline
Type : Compulsory
Term : III
Year :
The goal of this course is to build upon what graduate students have learnt in Statistical
Methods-I. This among other topics will include linear modelling and multivariate
statistics. Students will get hands-on experience applying the topics covered to real
datasets using R.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
Demonstrate their understanding of descriptive statistics by practical application of
quantitative reasoning and data visualization
Demonstrate their knowledge of the basics of inferential statistics by making valid
generalizations from sample data
Understand how to use various forms of the general linear model
Learning Outcomes
Recognize pitfalls in using statistical methodology
Model building from theory and data
1
Decision Making with data and information
Interpret the results from multivariate data analyses
