changed the way students learn and teachers teach. With the use of technology,
education has become more accessible, interesting and effective especially for the
latchkey children. Latchkey children are those who stay alone or with sibling after
school hour.
One of the most significant effects is we can provide more opportunities for
the children to learn from anywhere and at anytime. Educators can prepare digital
textbooks and some interactive educational videos for the children to access
educational materials from any location. For example, the DiDik TV which launched
by our educational ministry. Through this, children can learn a lot even without
parents’ guidance. With the existence of technology in learning system, education has
With technology, educators can also tailor some learning plans for the
children according to their level. This ensures that each student learns at their own
pace and gain support they need to succeed. For example, teacher can use the adaptive
learning software such as Whatfix, Knewton to personalise learning for them. Hence,
the latchkey children can access it at home without wasting of time. Personalised
learning has been shown to improve the academic performance and able to motivate
the students.
It is due to AI can help educators to ensure the effectiveness of the activities being
planned for the latchkey children and able to evaluate students’ answers and
activities.

here, educators can have the detailed analysis of the students. The data can help
students. Hence, educators can adjust his or her teaching plans based on the data.
Besides, parents can also use technology to track their children’s progress at
school. For example, parents can use some communication platforms such as
Whatsapp to communicate with teachers. So, parents can get feedback on their
children’s achievement, behavior and attendance. Educators can also share some
parenting tips, resources and suitable learning strategies for latchkey children with
parents through the communication platform. Educators can also make use of some
social medias such as facebook to deliver the school updates, events, and students’
achievements. This can ensure that the parents always stay updated even if they
access to education for all walks of life. As technology will continue to advance in
this era and in the future, hence, it is important that we continue to explore new ways
to use technology to enhance the educational experience. By doing so, we can ensure
all students have equal access to education, and well-prepare for future.
